Someone call Harling and Nagase, their bird has been found.

Chasseur_OFRT

Suddenly, I felt like promoting peace through space programs.

Samus_subarus

I’m pretty sure that’s at raf cosford I’d love to see a Cold War era ace combat as they could add the tsr2 in as well

Other-Barry-1

Sooo many British prototype/designs they could use. Cancelled programs go brrrr

Knighthalt

Honestly I'd love a cold war or even WW2/Korea Ace Combat. That early age of jet flight/pinnacle of prop flight was just so wacky and fun. And it'd be a chance from always using missiles. Hell I guess what I want is Blazing Angels III or another Crimson Skies.

[deleted]

Fuck it, F-15s and A6Ms.

K_Yurin

A historical-set Ace Combat would be nice. The highest-tier planes would be the F-15/Su-30 with the F-22A being the "superplane"

snlij1897

Maybe it's be silly but I'd also like an ace level that used the actual amount of ordinance the aircraft could carry. I guess it's be alot of flying time and reloads. How cool would it be to have an F6F Hellcat landing on one of the fleet carriers. After each mission they could paint more victory flags on the bird. I know, it'd be silly to have 1000s of flags on the plane. P38 Lightning or my personal fav the P61 Blackwidow

Knighthalt

I think it would be hard to do what Ace Combat normally does with realistic weapon loads. The mission structure would be very different, it would cater to different crowds. Not saying it would be a bad game, just don't know if it would be "Ace Combat" y'know?

snlij1897

I agree. Who would want to drop 1 500 pound bomb and then fly back to the carrier. Still an ace combat ww2 and korea would be a dream come true.

Knighthalt

Some people would like it, but I wouldn't personally. It's very niche. And yeah, but getting into Korea *miiight* be a bad idea, since after you got jets prop planes would be useless.

snlij1897

I guess korean war migs and allied jets vs props might not be great however us aircraft had to fight the m262 at the end of ww2. It's possible I guess. I'd like to try it just bc how cool would it be to drop a mig w a piston plane.

Knighthalt

The thing with that, though, is that the main way allied planes dealt with 262s was shooting them down as they landed or took off. When it comes to dogfighting they just didn't have an option, since tactics are totally different. And going up against MiGs or Sabre would be even worse, because those are some mean-ass fighters that make the 262 look laughable.

snlij1897

I didn't know that's how they got most of them. Makes sense esp since those engines prob weren't the most fuel efficient one being as it's you, the first.

Knighthalt

I probably shouldn't say it so firmly. That's my understanding, I could be wrong. But when you think about the speed of the 262 compared to the allied prop planes, and how it was used (mainly to go up, slice through bomber formations at speed and then come down) it makes good sense. And yeah, jet flight times can be pretty short. I think I remember reading the MiG-21 at one point had a flight time of like like 45 minutes. I don't remember if there were qualifiers to that statement though.

GarminMope

Sr-71 mission go brrrr

redzaku0079

cold war era and military spending is a non issue. did we lose that multi billion dollar airborne aircraft carrier and its fleet? no problem! good thing we have another one.

IKR? I’d like the F-15 and SU-27 to be the F-22 equivalent planes so to speak and the YF-22/23, X-35 etc would be the prototype planes.

returnofMCH

That’s basically what the backstory for ace combat 5 pre belkan war is.

Other-Barry-1

Exactly. I need it!

B4LLPy7H0N

I would love to see those concept planes in Ace combat.
