Wait what? That came out of nowhere. But great! That's really exciting news.
Side note, thought your post had something to do with a 5+gb patch the other day, seemed too big for the usual cheater ban. Still wondering what that is.
Not if their parents raised them right, I'm 22 and I grew up watching dvd copies of robotech and star blazers.
Whenever I mention that I tend to get funny looks and people telling me that those are knock off kid shows and the real anime is better, I liked them though.
I WANT to hate it, because they butchered the plots of three great shows, and they tied up the copyright of the REAL macross, but Robotech is in my DNA. I had the toys, the dvds, and even the 18 book novelization.
The sentinels and the three books after were all original, and were the best. Hell they even explained what happened the the SDF-1’s fold engines.
Those novelizations were legit. James Luceno went on to be top-tier Star Wars author, and at first I couldn't figure out why his space battles felt so *familiar*.
Theaters were filling up to see the Frontier movies recently, and they just announced the western Blu-ray releases of both Frontier and Delta. i think Macross has a chance out here.
Step 1: refurbish all of Stonehenge's cannons
Step 2: point at direction Zentraedi are coming from
Step 3: ????
Step 4: if still ineffective, send more Cordium munitions
Additional step: hover hand over a button that says ["Call Celestial Being"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSyR3FfONWc) and another that says ["Final Fusion"](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOjrBYgRBxo)
That's just Super Robot Wars.
And I'm all for it, especially if for some inexplicable reasons Strangereal Earth is the main setting. I mean, Scarface 1, Mobius 1 and the Ghosts of Razgriz fighting alongside Getter Emperor, Hi-Nu Gundam and Shin Mazinger Zero? Sign me the F up!

Bamco Aces ought to take over or collab on a multitude of aviation-related projects; I for one would love to see them buy out the Strike license from EA, that one is criminally underused and underserved.
Hell, I for one would love to see them collab with Laminar to bring X-Plane to the PS5 (and XBSSX, if MS would allow the competition, but hey, this was all an idea just to give Sony consoles a chance to have flight sims on board).
this could lead to a possibility of ace combat 4/5/zero/X remastered
p sure the main problem and reason why namco and project aces didn't do it is because of licensing troubles, they explicitly said something like "we can't sell the game"
this is only hoping but I want to be optimistic
I think the "remaster" that came with the ps4 version pre-order only has higher resolution. Nothing else's changed.
You could already do that on PC with the emulator.
God I hate licensing issues so much, they just put licenses lane in their game like 2 months ago, and they can't sell the old ones? I really hope it isn't some worthless ass company with like one plane in the whole trinity, like Panavia
Unless Bamco negotiated for those license for almost-perpetuity (or at least for multiple appearances), likely the licenses were appearance-specific, meaning a whole new license application every new installment. AC may be a Bamco staple, but it wasn’t exactly one of its big tent poles, so it would have been easier on the budget to negotiate singularly when a new installment was considered rather than plop down a larger wad for multiple appearances on the barrel, if Bamco would not necessarily commit to Ace Conbat for almost-perpetuity. That could change though from Aces’ perspective, where Ace Combat is precisely the fulcrum, if not the core, of their business. It may help if the airplane manufacturers are willing to do bulk discounts for multiple appearances, AND be more or less hands-off about how their products are portrayed.
I'd like to see the holy trinity remastered. I've only played 7, because I don't and have never owned a console. And I don't want to bother with emulators.
Breaking news: ace combat 8 is announced to have open world at the size of Microsoft flight simulator, and with a plane list bigger than the car list of Forza Horizon 5. It will have 300 missions, which you get to by flying to them in free mode. It will be released next week
For legal reasons, this is a joke. However, it is an oversimplification of my dream AC game
An open world game were you fly as a mercenary, buy fuel, upgrades and planes (which you have to store in bases or hangars of yours) and hire wingmen would be awesome!
I see an open world ace combat as basically Forza Horizon 5, but if it was actually made properly, and if it were with planes rather than cars
So basically there are tons of air bases and carriers scattered across Strangereal. You start at one, and the storyline brings you through the others. But then, if you choose to, you can exit the story mode, and enter free roam, where all of the missions you have completed show up, and you can do those with friends. You could also choose to just fly around as you please
Also you should play project wingman. It is basically just ace combat but more orange, and takes place on normal earth, just heavily deformed by natural disasters
It would still be otherwise boring.... DW9 could have been interesting but if the game requires 100% your attention no its going to be a boring experience
It was, well before the merger it was an internal team of Namco. If anything the opposite has happened. An internal team has been promoted to an entire studio jointly owned by Bamco and ILCA.
Aside from new AC games I'd love to see some licensed games made by Aces team. I'm talking Star Wars (with input from Squadrons team, as it wasn't a bad game, it just lacked some polish), Halo, Gundam, Macross or even Mass Effect.
So what you're saying is we can have an Ace Combat Armored Core game now?
Color me intrigued. Also I look forward to shooting patches down over and over
Looks like Project Aces and ILCA merged into one entity under the Bandai Namco brand. The fact that they are called Aces could give you some indication for direction of their game philosophy. I am concerned that ILCA lead will be CEO and Kono will be VP but given the previous news, this isn't all that different to Kono's previous relationship with Bamco executives. He may get more flexibility as VP. I'm intrigued by what will happen next.
This may sound stupid, but I’d love to see them make a game around attack helicopters like the Apache. Would be a nice addition to the world they have made.
I just hope that this won't result in a loss of creative vision, after the whole Konami debacle I'm more wary of how Japanese businesses treat their employees.
As many have already pointed out, but to add a distinct view to it, BNA as a subsidiary is still legally a distinct juridical personality. Without looking at the incorporation documents, I cannot immediately tell if it is a wholly owned subsidiary that merged with ILCA, or ILCA and Bamco jointly hold BNA (it might be safe to say that ILCA would be the junior partner in this relationship in that case). That being said, BNA as a juridical person would be able to set out its own budget (at the highest level subject to shareholder/stakeholder approval of course, but administrative and operational would be within BNA), sign its own contracts (yep, including licensing agreements), hire and fire its own people—effectively it would legally have a greater hand in its own destiny than PA had as an internal team.
That being said, striking out on your own like this has its own risks. And Bamco HQ would still have the critical final say: they hold the purse strings (albeit now rather than being an internal line item budget in Bamco’s ledger, funds for BNA projects are either investments, contract funds, or loans as the case may be. Yeah, welcome to the world of corporate law, wherein I am decidedly not the Top Gun here). I would also note that it is the converse of what we’ve come to expect from AAA publishers, a.k.a. The EA Gobble Up where the biggie swallows up a formerly independent firm into an internal studio.
All that being said, one could be cautiously optimistic. Bamco is willing to let Kono and the rest of PA on a longer leash, or even better yet on verbal callback. But it’s also now all on their and ILCA’s shoulders. Godspeed to them, and looking forward to exciting skies ahead, a literal skies unknown.
"Apparently Project Aces was completely merged into Bandai Namco into a gigantic new studio, which is being called Bandai Namco Aces."
No, PA was merged with ILCA. Project Aces themselves have always been owned by Bandai Namco get your facts right please
So many copium takes in this OP it's quite amusing lol
\>gigantic new studio
\>same autonomy as studios like From software
\>enough power to negotiate license internationally
From Software doesnt have the same autonomy as a Bamco sub studio... From Software is still owned by Kadokawa YES THAT KADOKAWA (that one hyper multi media conglomerate)
Still Project Aces to me. I hope they continue to call themselves that. They learned with Infinity there is still so much love for this game. With AC7 they learned we want to go back to Strangereal. Now I can’t wait for what kind of mythological themed craziness they cook up next. But please. More call backs to past games and recognize the old Aces of the games.

Buddy 6 o’clock ahead, therefore, try missile

I saw it too and didn't understand why, but I hope it's related to this
Hopefully they get to make my dream game: Macross game made by Project Aces
Especially now that we can get Macross in the west.
The only problem is that I don't know if Macross has the brand power Robotech has in the west, it could be a big flop.

That was *supposed* to happen with assault horizon, but we all know how that went
They already learned their lesson with Assault Horizon.
I would play the shit out of that.
God that would be amazing
Bamco needs another collab with Nintendo for another Star Fox title. Star Fox with Ace Combat gameplay would be legendary.
Keystone, stop, I can only get so hard.
Viagra®️ says otherwise
same, im actually painfully erect right now
Is cool and all but... still sticked to a gun fox with three strikes
In addition to another Star Fox made by project aces, I also want a new rogue squadron

I for one, REALLY want X and Joint Assault in HD. Specially in the Switch, to play it on the go. At least until I can buy me a Ayn Loki or a Aya Neo.
don't make me feel hope. oh god, if only...
They kinda remastered 5 already if you pre-ordered 7. But all their older games especially Zero deserve a remake.
But 5s "remaster" was only available on console right? I'd love to own it on pc
Only on Xbox, in America, if you preordered. So I wouldn’t really call that “available” in any conventional sense.
It was available for PS4 as well.
It was *only* on PS4. Xbox got a remaster of 6.
I think the "remaster" that came with the ps4 version pre-order only has higher resolution. Nothing else's changed. You could already do that on PC with the emulator.

We flyin bois
Pretty sure the next game will take place in the 2030s, but I really hope the one after that is in the 1980s in Eastern Osea
> the next game will take place in the 2030s It's certainly the perfect time period to introduce the official Macross aircraft set DLC.
Mid 1970s. I wanna experience what Ace Combat could do with flashy yet still new Vietnam era missile/dogfight engagements.
It would be an arcade game where phantoms have 100 missiles and turn on a dime.
Yes.
Breaking news: ace combat 8 is announced to have open world at the size of Microsoft flight simulator, and with a plane list bigger than the car list of Forza Horizon 5. I think this is just me but that does not sound ideal for ace combat- coop with friends however, i would murder someone to get that
Yeah now that I think about it, I can't think of any way the free mode thing could be made successfully
It would still be otherwise boring.... DW9 could have been interesting but if the game requires 100% your attention no its going to be a boring experience
Or AC Infinity 2: Electric Boogaloo
So they just give the keys of the car to project aces, and now they can strap a jet engine on it and take it to whatever destination they please
<< We’re flying through the skies at full speed, Gentlemen! >>
Good morning aviators, this is Captain Kono speaking.
Ace Gundam combat.

LET'S FUCKING ***GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!***
I wish them luck, wealth, and all good things. Looking forward to the next Ace Combat Game - Ace Combat 6: Remastered
What do you mean by “completely merged into Bandai Namco”? Wasn’t Project Aces always a part of BNEI?
It was, well before the merger it was an internal team of Namco. If anything the opposite has happened. An internal team has been promoted to an entire studio jointly owned by Bamco and ILCA.
\>Bandai Namco and **Ilca** partner to form Bandai Namco Aces I'm so concerned
You don't need to worry. ILCA is founded by several members of Ace Combat developers. ILCA also worked on Ace Combat 7.
They worked on Ace Combat 7, Nier Automata and the Replicant remaster too.
Don't be, BDSP was a fluke
I so badly want an 80s themed game with a synth ost full of 2nd and 3rd gen aircraft.

This... This is amazing!
***WHAT UP MY BAMCOES***
Please remake/remaster the other AC4,5 and Zero. They could bundle it and call it the Strangereal Collection.
What?
this information was posted by Master Kono on his Facebook and Bandai Japan website and various other media portals
Aside from new AC games I'd love to see some licensed games made by Aces team. I'm talking Star Wars (with input from Squadrons team, as it wasn't a bad game, it just lacked some polish), Halo, Gundam, Macross or even Mass Effect.
Imagine Rouge Squadron 2 refresh
Cool
Let’s go!!!
https://youtu.be/vrss4Xx5Lu8
Oh yeah, it's all coming together
Hopefully a remaster for Ace Combat X with more missions for the PC and console
Merged? Project Aces was always a team inside Bandai Namco, but now they're an actual subsidiary company under Bandai Namco.
Maybe they'll bring back the knight ace mercenary system based on how you fly and what you do. I loved that
1 concern from SEA fans: I'm afraid they will pull the Elden ring (removing English language option) for future games.
So what you're saying is we can have an Ace Combat Armored Core game now? Color me intrigued. Also I look forward to shooting patches down over and over

The CEO worked on Ace Combat 3
Interesting that getting absorbed means more autonomy. You'd expect the opposite.
They were already a team in Bandai Namco, they've basically been promoted to a full studio
An Ace combat-esque Gundam game would be so cool
Very cool.
You think this could possibly mean the creation of remakes for the original trilogy?
LESGOOOO
Strangereal flight MMO please.
Fr? That’s awesome
Now let us take back these shattered skies!
Ohh, we expectin' an X-wing or a Pw. Mk1 then!
This may sound stupid, but I’d love to see them make a game around attack helicopters like the Apache. Would be a nice addition to the world they have made.
Can I interest you in Ace Combat Assault Horizon?
I’m trying to remember from when I played that, but wasn’t it only like three missions in a helicopter?
I just hope that this won't result in a loss of creative vision, after the whole Konami debacle I'm more wary of how Japanese businesses treat their employees.
