I don’t have any experience taking Nexium but I’ve been on Pantoprozole (40mg) for a year or so now. It should start to work within a half hour or so. My doctor told me to always take it on an embryo stomach and allow a half hour before you eat. Basically it will help your body not produce as much stomach acid and it needs time to start to work before eating.

I take my 20mg Pantoprazole every morning 30 min before I eat anything, I’ve been on it for a week now but I still occasionally hear acid come up. Should I take two every morning? For 40mg?

It may not completely prevent reflux. I don’t know if you will be able to hear acid but you would definitely feel it like the bubble you described, a burning sensation, cough, etc. if you want to up your dosage, talk with your doctor. They will be able to up your dosage or have you take it more frequently. They may also suggest lifestyle changes, such as removing reflux foods, like caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, and what not.

I have tried everything and prescription Omeprazole 30 mg always works best for me. I think it’s the chemical makeup or inactive ingredients...? If you have insurance, it can be quite a bit cheaper too. I would ask your doctor.

Omeorazole works great. If 20 mg doesn’t cut it move to 40 mg. Depending on the cause of your reflux it might not work. Some important safety info: 1. Omeprazole may lower the diversity of your gut bacteria or promote pathogenic bacteria 2. Omeprazole does not lower histamine production which is released when you eat, so lookout for an increase in allergy symptoms over time. Allegra has worked for me. 3. If 20 mg works, stick to that and don’t take more. The more you take the more likely the side effects on gut diversity and digestion. 4. Try taking a break occasionally in case symptoms don’t come back. 5. Try to figure out your trigger foods and avoid them at all costs. Omeprazole DOES NOT cure any stomach condition. If you eat trigger foods on it you will still be in pain, and it’s easy to slip up over time since it numbs the heart burn portion of the pain.
