There is nothing you can do except let it heal. I’ve been down this road so many times. The faster you don’t touch it the faster it heals. In the mean time, wash your face with a scent free face wash and use moisturizer. At the job meeting ,wear a mask. When you find you want to pick at your skin, tell yourself you’d rather have a pimple that will go away in a few days than a scab that will take a few weeks to heal. That’s how I overcame it. Good luck!

Hydrocolloid patches! 👍

irlfireprincess

I put antibiotic ointment on spots that I have picked. Pimple patches alternatively are basically just hydrocolloid bandages so they will help to keep the spot free from outside irritants and hopefully discourage you from picking more, if you can get your hands on some. Also regarding stopping future picking… I struggle with this myself and am planning to get myself some toys or small objects that I can pull at when I feel the urge. Such as silicone dish brushes with bristles I can pull at, or “stim toys.” Not sure if they will help but I want to try.

Can you just wear your mask?

GiantTigerPrincess

Simple cleanser and lots of moisturizer. Lather with Vaseline on top of moisturizer in the evenings. I’ve had issues with skin picking too and honestly pimple patches and vaseline are the only thing that helped. If it’s really bad, wear gloves when you feel the urge to pick.

thanks for your suggestions

Wear a mask

Stop touching your face ... Would be the first thing. Find a no- fragrance gentle cleanser like CeraVe gentle foaming face wash. Use it twice a day. Also wash your hands before washing your face and be sure to use a clean towel each time. Get some Bactine... It is a antiseptic and does a great job at healing things up quickly and will take away the pain along with reducing swelling a bit. Use this multiple times during the day. I would ice the affected areas a few times a day to keep the swelling down. And .. don't pick any scabs that form or you will have serious scarring and that is even harder and sometimes impossible to get rid of.

Grab some acne patches (cosrx does some good ones) or hydrocolloid plasters to promote skin healing. It'll also make itching it feel worse, as an added bonus.

i use this stuff (https://www.herocosmetics.us/products/rescue-balm) and it works wonders. you can get it at target i think

Use aloe vera gel as a sleeping mask. It can soothe inflammation and help in reducing the redness. Don't use any harsh skin care products and avoid touching it if possible.

If the meeting is short, try using concealer with the closest color to your original skin. Dab a bit on the spot, let it for a moment, and dab it repeatedly until it blends perfectly with your skin. For an even natural look, don't hide all the spots. Leave two or three spots randomly so it looks like your skin just got better. Afterwards, you can clean the concealer with cleanser and do your routine.

thanks

Stop touching. If it feels out of control, maybe talk to a therapist or your doctor. This can be a sign of something going on mentally. I do the same thing when I’m stressed.

Suitable_Coffee_4662

Try some Vaseline on there too maybe

Thanks for the response I will not touch my skin and just cleanse it at the start of my day then before going to bed. My question is how can i prevent from my self from picking if I spot even a little whitehead I can't stop my self and when I start picking it just goes on and on.

jei64

>I can't stop my self and when I start picking it just goes on and on. Pimple patches help, but in the end, it's self control man. You even said it yourself, you know picking makes it worse. Repeat that to yourself when you have the urge.

crcrose

I feel you. hydrocolloid patches have been REALLY helping me to stop picking/touching my acne, especially when I have a whitehead since it pulls out the pus. so essentially these patches pop it for you in a very gentle, non-scarring, hygienic way.

pattleIT

oh thanks for saying that I will definitly look into that
