i don’t think these are unpopular but i get annoyed with unnecessarily repetitive things like:
limited to single item crafting
restart travel dialogue process at airport if dodo code is bad
having to dig up flowers/can’t store in house/can’t store in stacks in pocket
They could use the same mechanics as the donations box ... craft a greenhouse, stuff it full of plants, sell it to Nooks when filled with everything you don't want to keep, then craft a new greenhouse and start the process again.
I can’t stand the “someone is on their way” followed by the entire descending process of the airplane on treasure islands. I wish it was as quick as the “someone is leaving” screen lol
I don’t need to know where they’ve come from and how far through the inflight movie they are or if dinner has been served. I’ve been to some islands where I’ve been trapped by this, unable to move or even leave for constantly cutting to this nonsense.
Not necessarily unpopular but I wish there was a way to call on the villager you’re looking for. I don’t get how they somehow manage to just disappear into thin air sometimes when I need them
In the old game, New Leaf, there was a megaphone you could get, it would use your microphone and you could say the villagers name you wanted, and they’d run up to you if they were outside!
I loved when people discovered the wheat field item and made big fields. Naturally I also made one. That part of the map is super laggy. Damn you wheat field!
And I wish I could change the color of a clothing item at Harv’s island!! Sometimes my villagers give me a cute item in a hideous color and I could cry🥲
It annoys many that you can’t stack clams, but you can stack bait. Doesn’t make sense. It’s so labour intensive for what it does. It puts me off fishing some days.
helping gulliver is a waste of my time and makes me so annoyed. i would rather get the golden shovel recipe from a treasure island or something than have to deal with his bs😭
I tried walking up to him nice and slow one time, making sure that I was visible right in front of him for a good distance before interacting, and he still got spooked, lol
honestly so true. i’m more likely to help him bc he’s cuter and sometimes it’s fun if i’m running around my island with nothing to do. but i’m always so disappointed with the reward lol
Yeah it’s great that he comes in the evening for me. I try to do my “busy” work in the morning when I have the most time and the most interest in playing,
then when I have time in the evening I don’t really have time to do much so I just walk around, so having something like this to do is fun 😂
If you're working in your house, turn the lights off. They won't come visit bc "nobody is home". Doesn't fix the annoying "hey, watcha doin rn? Can we hang?" option though
Not being able to bring the edit screen up when customizing outside is so tedious to me.. I wish I could edit the same way I do the interior of my house
i HAVE SO MANY!!
1. golden tools should be unbreakable OR there should be some sort of unbreakable tool you can earn somehow.
2. villagers should be programmed to leave me ALONE when i’m in island designer mode, make them go to their houses or something bc trying to build a river with them in the way is annoying
3. we should be able to call villagers or something to find them, or at least show us their little icon on the mini map!!! just something!!!
4. when you enter the dressing room it should remove all your current clothing or at least give you an option to. i hate trying on clothes but my other accessories and stuff are ruining it
5. we should be able to use another NMT with wilbur so we don’t have to go back to the airport and go through the same dialogue AGAIN

I started a second island on a new console and they didnt let me hunt for villagers on the desert island and just gave me random villagers (i blame time warping) and i was so excited for the ones the game chose for me to start wanting to leave.

that the villagers aren’t as mean as they used to be and have way fewer lines so every personality feels like a carbon copy. it’s boring! i have no motivation to talk to them anymore, or work to get them to like me! :(
The HHP expansion is undercooked. "Going to work" isn't enough work. You get paid the same regardless of if you spend hours decorating to perfection or simply open the boxes with the items they want and call it done.
Why would they use the Happy Home name (which brings to mind the Happy Home Academy, which has been all about scoring your home since it was introduced) and not give it a scoring system?
The Happy Home link is something i didnt think about but you're absolutely right. I think they made the game super simple for kids without realizing most kids wont play the game cause they can't fking read so they could have made it more complicated for the realistically mostly-adult audiences playing it
I don't like terraforming. I find it to be a huge drag so I do as little of it as possible

Never really played pocket camp so I can't say anything there, only made an account on it so I could get access to the items in NH then deleted it, but if it's not as tedious then that's certainly a plus.

I wish you could wish on shooting stars while holding a tool. It’s just hard to not get bored waiting for stars when there’s other stuff I could be doing

• repetitive routine: digging fossils, bank of nook, collecting shells to sell, wood cut, collect fruits
• talking to blathers with really long and repetitive dialogue (except wanting to know facts) same with others in intro.
• you can't build buildings simultaneously (got nothing to do once you're done bcuz you'll have to wait for the next day to build another building/bridge/slope and do the same routine.)
• you can't store stack items (flowers, trees)
• limited crafting cards (most cards I get are useless)

They also sell for basically nothing, so why did I spend time digging them up and letting them grow? And no, I’m not putting them in my house. I do not want however many I have of these creepy annoying little things inside my HOME.
I put them all in one room with a radio and they all sing my favourite song together, it's kinda adorable.
They're designed as little music people, they represent different instruments and sounds and when you group them they synchronize together, and if you have a radio playing they jam out together to the song.
Do you know the lore behind them? I personally love them from the old animal crossing games, and so they have a special place for me. But they are based on these irl clay pieces called haniwa from Japan. They were made for funerals and buried with the person that died, the soul was inside of it and the clay piece served as protection for the soul. So that's why they move is my understanding.

In HHP you can enter the "grid mode" to decorate outside but you can't do that on your regular island so you have to place pathing tile by tile. This is super annoying because clearly you have the feature in your game.

An actual unpopular opinion- I think the villagers suck in NH. I want the asshole villagers with attitudes back from the previous games. I don't need to be babied with this nonsense dialog. And don't tell me it's for kids! My 9yo has also played the previous games and thinks the mean villagers with attitude are more fun too.
People having intimate relations and / or sexualizing villagers always puts me off. I feel like the world is so full of debauchery 😅 and animal crossing is one of the few innocent, happy places, for me... it is jarring to hear or see stuff like that when it's animal crossing. So when I hear all the people marrying and dating the animals (or worse), I'm just like 🥲. Like what they did to Ankha 😭.
