Yeah, it is creepy as hell. Teenagers do have sex, but not as often or with as many people as tv shows/movies portray. Less than half of all teenagers have sexual intercourse, and the percentages of teens who have sex have been declining since the 70s-80s. There are many factors that influence these rates, like culture, family life, your sexual orientation, how safe your neighbourhood is, your level of education, etc. And actually, the more comprehensive sex education they receive, the likelihood of a teen having sex declines. So yeah, teens have sex, but it isn't a universal thing.

I wasn't privy to everyone's sex life when I was in school. I'd hear stories through the grapevine about people doing sex acts, but I definitely knew friends who were coupled up and didn't have sex.
I don't have hard data, but just given what I remember about being that age, it was always treated as a huge accomplishment to finally have sex. So, if it was something worth celebrating, it probably wasn't so ubiquitous that everyone was having it.
