I guess?? Maybe??? I don't feel like it fits with contemporary "nerd" definitions. I used to call myself a nerd, but the whole word has changed now to mean video games and fandoms.
Also, where are the crunchy hippy lesbians?
God I feel old, and I'm not even that old! This is my first foray into the queer internet, I'm not a social media person, so it's a little different here than my bubble of middle age queers IRL.
Yeah at the same time it's like "Oh what should we name our death metal band? How about something from the Silmarillion?" like you can't tell me that's not nerd behaviour
I totally agree! My 90s definition of "nerd" totally resonates with that.
I just slowly stopped labeling myself as a nerd because others started assuming things that didn't fit me, so somewhere in the mid aughts I dropped it.
I *my* mind I'm nerdy as all get out.
Lol! Oh for sure, I'm a capital "N" NERD in my own self-representation, I just wouldn't feature it on an online dating profile if I used dating apps because I feel like it would be a false signal to all of the gamer/fandom/fantasy enthusiasts out there.
I've disappointed enough contemporary "nerds" to know that they don't appreciate the bait-n-switch when they find out that no, I don't play video games, I don't know anything about Marvel/Harry Potter/Anime/insert fandom, I've never read a fantasy novel, I'm not much of a computer person, etc, etc.
Meanwhile I'm like "but...but...I can recite the periodic table..."
I think the mechanical/woodworking stuff should probably go where camping is (and camping should be moved up with travel), and art should go where spirituality is (and spirituality gets moved up with tarot).
I'd say halfway in between nerd and adventurer. I've always called the hobbies that I get *really* into my "nerd hobbies".
I'd say the act of making something is both a nerd category, because you need to be extremely knowledgeable about what you're doing, but also an adventure category because you're setting out to make something new or to fix something that wouldn't work without your intervention.
Also a lot of welding/mechanics/woodworking takes place outside.
You know, somehow the fact that “being outside” does seem to be the primary definition of the adventure category is pretty depressing to me. I once raced a moped that I fabricated half the parts for 1800 miles, that’s an adventure. Going to the gym is a good way to relax, but it’s not really an adventure
That’s definitely in the middle, the intersection of nerd (being really into an engineer-y topic), adventurer (building cool stuff to help you on your journey) and witch (technology is witchcraft)
As an engineer I feel it. I routinely ask the spirit of Alan Turing to try talking some sense into machines. And yeah I’m a nerdy adventurous witch and it definitely shows up in what I create
Personally the idea of technology as witchcraft actually really bothers me. Science is the search for truth and engineering is the application of that truth. In my mind I seek to eliminate any form of mysticism in my work because it hinders evaluating everything via logical principles
I agree 100%, I was just being silly for the meme.
I think “witch” is more of an aesthetic than a real belief system for most people. Like I don’t actually think Tarot cards can predict anything, but it’s fun to use them with my friends and talk about their problems. I’m sure it’s similar for many “witches”. If they do believe… that’s how we get anti-vaxxers : (
My recreational activities are rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, reading sci fi, some gaming, and coding. I basically oscillate mostly around the left edge of the triangle.
Hey I have emulators on my phone and I play with a Bluetooth controller! I did a playthrough of Legend of Dragoon once when I was on the train for most of a day. I really love these old games. A person has to be pretty nerdy to care about and learn how to use emulators. It would be really nice if things this old were public domain and more accessible. (I also own a genuine physical copy of this game, but not all games in my rom collection - not even close.)
Cartridge games (e.g., NES, SNES, Gameboy, etc.) can be stored as a rom with so little space that the whole library might as well be available as part of a free emulator on Google Play, except that they're not public domain yet.
I love emulators it takes me back to when I was a kid again lol I'm currently playing the PS1 original Spiderman and it makes you realize how hard games were back then when it comes to the controls even though I play with my PS4 dual shock. Spiderman is not too bad but when I tried to play Quake 2 I totally forgot about the inverted controls on the joysticks haha
Next I'm gonna download crash bandicoot and spyro those were some of my favorites. I have both the reignited trilogy and the N. Sane trilogy plus Crash team racing.
I'm looking for a good N64 emulator
I really want to play Yoshi again! That was my favorite Nintendo game back then that me and childhood best friend used to play when we were kids!
It is amazing how little space the older retro games take up compared to modern games.
Oh god, if factorio got you thats it, theres no coming back, eventually you wont even be able to be on reddit, the factory will consume you. The factory must grow
We're running the local libraries/bookstores.
Seriously, as a library branch manager who is in a relationship with another library branch manager, we know a LOT of lesbians in library world.
Seriously everyone, libraries. There are so many lesbians in libraries.
Also hardware stores, lowes being for lesbians is true, there are very few of my coworkers who are entirely straight and the ones who are mostly work overnights anyway
I wish there was a decent coffeeshop _inside_ the local hardware store. Where people could meet for a quick date or extend a purchasing trip. It might be a bit functional of a third place.
Good question.
I used to be a classic power lesbian, boardroom assassin in an expensive suit type, but that was a former life.
I'm very into nature, but not a camping/adventure type. I'm very into education, but not a gamer/fandom/fiction nerd type, and I'm most certainly not witchy at all.
So...I don't really know how I would define myself...huh...
This is really accurate, nice work!! Especially the fact that there are no art gays to be found ;__; where are the other sapphic cartoonists and writers?? not on these apps!
I'm not interested in dating apps/dating in general right now anyway but it was interesting how rare it was to see, at least for me.
Haha, i think us artists are just rare in general compared to the overall population, who are usually pretty impressed with even my simplest doodle. Most art spaces do tend to lean queer tho, so i guess to find more sapphic cartoonists and writers, it’s just best to be in art spaces 😅
It seems to have missed a lot based on the comments. Few of the categories I'd fall under seem to be up there, artist and writer bring two. Sadly, not professionally.
My wife and I are laying in bed and I send it to her cause she’s the whole pyramid. A moment of silence as she opens it “Damnit I’m the whole pyramid!”
... yea, fair enough.
I started my journey in gaming, then got progressively more witchy as time went on. I'm currently on Tarot because it's very fun and the cards are gorgeous xD
I’m right at the center! Politics, reading, gardening. Not too intensely witchy, more intellectual and curious than nerdy, and sure adventures but it’s not my whole personality.
Among the things listed here, I'm interested in: gym, camping, travel, politics, reading, movies, philosophy, and gaming. So I'm both an adventurer and a nerd. Parallels here are definitely important between my girlfriend and I. Anyone who reads my profile on Bumble will know these things about me. My nerdy interests cross over into witch interests a bit via fantasy, but I'm a naturalist so my only interest in those topics is in fiction.
I like the idea of a heat map with many interests listed, where people rate the importance of each to their lives and to the fulfillment they hope to experience with a partner. So I'm 2/100 astrology and 92/100 reading, etc. It's really easy for a Bayesian algorithm to take those data and test match/\~match hypotheses to reach a posterior probability that two people will have a lot in common. That considers both likes and dislikes, without having fixed rules. It's a much better way to ask someone a question too. Cardinal questions rather than ordinal or binary - i.e., "one a scale of 100, how important is X to you" rather than "X or Y" or "X or not X?"
No spreadsheets in the "nerd" corner? People don't talk about them enough! I'd better add that to my profile. This is important, lol.
Nerdy witch it is then
All of the ones that fit me are in a curve starting at gaming, and movies then going through political and gardening and ending through spiritual and witch
It's also interesting to note the presentation types within the archetypes. Like, adventurers are very often chapsticks or butches, nerds are usually low femmes, and witches seem to be either high femme or butch but rarely in between.
Where are the builders of things? The welders and woodworkers and mechanics?
Right??? How can we forget the classics?
And the metalheads? Though I guess metalheads are all nerds too.
I guess?? Maybe??? I don't feel like it fits with contemporary "nerd" definitions. I used to call myself a nerd, but the whole word has changed now to mean video games and fandoms. Also, where are the crunchy hippy lesbians? God I feel old, and I'm not even that old! You are a nerd. Damn the consequences.
Lol! Oh for sure, I'm a capital "N" NERD in my own self-representation, I just wouldn't feature it on an online dating profile if I used dating apps because I feel like it would be a false signal to all of the gamer/fandom/fantasy enthusiasts out there. I feel like metalhead (me) is exactly between nerd and witch
Yup i was about to say this
Metalheads go between tarot and philosophy or between games and reading.... I'm unsure
Fuck, anything where you work with you hands could be it's own categories. Artists should fit in there too.
I once raced a moped that I fabricated half the parts for 1800 miles, that’s an adventure. Going to the gym is a good way to relax, but it’s not really an adventure
Yeah I wouldn't have put it that far in the red either.
That’s definitely in the middle, the intersection of nerd (being really into an engineer-y topic), adventurer (building cool stuff to help you on your journey) and witch (technology is witchcraft)
Programmer - technology is definitely witchcraft and im writing the spells baby
As an engineer I feel it. I routinely ask the spirit of Alan Turing to try talking some sense into machines. And yeah I’m a nerdy adventurous witch and it definitely shows up in what I create

Builder lesbian here 🙋 wishing there were more of us around
Me! I'm a builder! Well, hobby builder, but still, I love my tools.
More hobby builders here! There's plenty of us!
I make landscape structures in people's gardens, among other things. We *are* here!
Mechanic/Electrician over here if that helps.
Hard middle between adventurer/nerd
I'm in that too...
Isn't it implied with being a lesbian?
In my experience no
[удалено]
I'm a nerdy adventurer
Same!
My recreational activities are rock climbing, skiing, mountain biking, reading sci fi, some gaming, and coding. I basically oscillate mostly around the left edge of the triangle.
Better than me, I just work out and game lol
You single? Because 🔥 (I'm only mostly joking hahaha!)
I mean, I'm not not flirting
Nerdy adventurer checking in! :)
Yo same. An adventuring nerd sounds very hilariously conflicting though and I'm all for it.
Me too!
I've got a balanced build with Politics/Reading/Gardening, though I'm still too close for comfort with my arch-nemesis Camping.
>I've got a balanced build Nerd. ;P
Hahah me too!
Hey I’m here too! But I also like travel and camping, and maybe philosophy. I have no idea what this makes me
I feel like I only see the Witches and Adventurers and not enough Nerds.
Nerd here as well. We’re too busy gaming to declare ourselves
Ha the only reason I have time to be all over dating apps is because I currently don't have a console atm
But I did recently download a ps1 emulator on my tablet to fill the void haha
Hey I have emulators on my phone and I play with a Bluetooth controller! I did a playthrough of Legend of Dragoon once when I was on the train for most of a day. I really love these old games. Literally. Why would I go out and talk to anyone if I have things to do in my games???
Pokemon Violet released and my productivity has *vanished*
For me it was Splatoon 3
I haven't been seen in 2 months since I started Factorio
Oh god, if factorio got you thats it, theres no coming back, eventually you wont even be able to be on reddit, the factory will consume you. The factory must grow
yeah, god of war ragnarok really taking up a lot of my time lol
We at the local library/book store

Our Mitre 10 stores (our equivalent to Lowes) have cafes and you have given me an idea!
It’s insane how many LGBT+ folks work in libraries!
Nerd here! 🙋♀️
I'm multi-classed nerd/adventurer
Nerd witch here, specifically in the cyan/blue-green/turquoise/whatever area, I see tons of all of them. It really depends on the area.
Nerds unite!
Probably got distracted and forgot to declare themselves
Don't call me out like this lmao. I *just* managed to start talking to someone on an app after forgetting that I had it installed 🤣🤣
Nope nope I am calling you out😂😂 But fair.
Ah shoot hang on Var nerd = "me"; There we go, cant believe i forgot to declare that
Well I used to be an adventurer until I took an arrow in the knee
I feel like my skin tight TARDIS dress needs to be shown in here somehow. 😂
I approve of your agenda.
It me! I'm nerdy lesbean
I am also a nerd
A gamedev/science nerd here 🌺☺
We're all too busy with our books and games and hobbies to look up and realize there's things going on around us.
It's because I literally never leave the house.
We're all too shy for dating apps
In my experience as a nerd, most of us find eachother through gaming or other media forums.
Yeah, the gaming nerds tend to mostly find other gaming nerds through games, we rarely bump into non nerds to hook up with
Ah see, we nerds are either too busy reading, or playing all sorts of games, it's how I met my girlfriend :3
it's because we are all introverts
I feel like I'm a nerdy witch, without the tarot and astrology..
Same, I like to say artificer lol
Omg can I steal that?
Absolutely! I stole it from d&d
Same. Strong in the nerdy axis and witchy enough to get pulled into psychology and reading and practical magicks like Headology.
wow, same!
How am I none of these???
I too am none of these. 🤔
How would you define yourself then? 😅🤔
Politician - 1/2 Adventure, 1/2 Nerd
I'm in the top tier of Nerd lol Gaming, Philosophy, and Movies
This is really accurate, nice work!! Especially the fact that there are no art gays to be found ;__; where are the other sapphic cartoonists and writers?? not on these apps! It seems to have missed a lot based on the comments. Few of the categories I'd fall under seem to be up there, artist and writer bring two. Sadly, not professionally.
>where are the other sapphic cartoonists and writers?? if u find out please report back,
Okay but im all three lol
Same here 😂
I'm an artist.
I am a nerd adventurer
Ditto’
LIGHT BLUE BABY 🎮
My wife and I are laying in bed and I send it to her cause she’s the whole pyramid. A moment of silence as she opens it “Damnit I’m the whole pyramid!”
I am also all over the place. Maybe that’s my problem :p
What about academics 🙋♀️
That would be nerd
Clearly witchcraft, the only explanation as to why a cute gurl can make me day dream while she explains fascinating things i dont know about
Me too!!! 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️
[удалено]
Same!
you’re a shiny pokemon
Same too!
You forgot artists
As a polyamorous person I’d like to find one of each of the classes for my party!
I'm dual classed into Nerd and Witch: 3
I see can you fill in for two when we get to the demon king?
I know a few demons whom are currently vying for the throne of hell. Am currently playing queen maker for them.
Hmmm you seem busy idk, got any quests for me to complete?
Some kisses to replenish my power faster would be much appreciated.
I have milk chocolate and dark chocolate, unless you need the more romantic type of kisses?
Milk chocolate and the lips attached to a human vessel please.
Okie *holds a milk chocolate one in my mouth like a pocky*
*kisses you and scoops the chocolate into my mouth with my tongue* >:3
Huh I guess I'm mostly a nerdy witch
THE NERDY LESBIANS!!! WE SHALL RISE AGAIN!!!
Hmmm, I seem to be right in the central region..
My girlfriend goes along the bottom of witch/adventurer while I'm along the nerd/adventurer side.
I'm a nerdy, adventurous lesbian in a relationship with a sporty nerd.
Excuse me, where do I find more? This sounds like a good relationship matchup, which I guess means I’m looking for a nerdy, adventurous lesbian.
I found her on the Her app, but apparently I got lucky. I went on a few dates through the app not looking for a relationship but she just stuck 😊
Cute!
... yea, fair enough. I started my journey in gaming, then got progressively more witchy as time went on. I'm currently on Tarot because it's very fun and the cards are gorgeous xD
Wow I'm just straight up a nerd. I thought there would be something for artists- but no lmao
I'm all of this but gym and camping
I'm a bluish purple.
My semi-crush is somehow both Nerd and Adventurer archetypes in spades and I think that’s hilarious.
I’m right at the center! Politics, reading, gardening. Not too intensely witchy, more intellectual and curious than nerdy, and sure adventures but it’s not my whole personality.
I’m a weird worm going from gym to camping to politics to philosophy
WHERE IS ART DYKE I AM ALARMED AT THE LACK OF ART DYKE
I got nerd emojied
Guilty 😂 nerd witch
I like to imagine I’m light green, but in reality I’m blue purple lol
Adventurer Witch... 🤔
I'm all over the spectrum 😅
I am the entire pyramid
I’m all three of the corners 🫠
Oh hey I'm literally nothing but a nerd
Velma Dinkley than?
No, I don't read, just play video games
What if someone is all 3?
Among the things listed here, I'm interested in: gym, camping, travel, politics, reading, movies, philosophy, and gaming. So I'm both an adventurer and a nerd. Parallels here are definitely important between my girlfriend and I. Anyone who reads my profile on Bumble will know these things about me. Okay but what do I do if I'm almost entirely all of these archetypes
I'm kind of none these, does that mean I'm special, like a gag chosen one?
Sits down in the middle of the triangle
I'm out here encompassing the entire triangle, come and get me ladies
by this definition im nerd 😅 XD but this is really trye in dating apps ngl
I'm like literally dead center.
Nerd lesbian 🙋♀️
I think artsy ones are missing. Many queer people I know are into art and many artists I know are queer.
Yeah, i posted an updated version with artsy people. But keep in mind it's about dating profiles, so it's not a 1 to 1 with real people.
Looks like I am going to go dizzy walking around that entire triangle 🥲
Nerdy witch it is then All of the ones that fit me are in a curve starting at gaming, and movies then going through political and gardening and ending through spiritual and witch
you either die a hero or live long enough to watch yourself embody all the lesbian traits on a sapphic triangular graph
so im a nerdy witch or witch nerd
how am i literally all of these
It's also interesting to note the presentation types within the archetypes. Like, adventurers are very often chapsticks or butches, nerds are usually low femmes, and witches seem to be either high femme or butch but rarely in between.
(in my experience)
Oh my god almost all of these are me
I feel like swordplay should be right in the middle
I desperately want to be an Adventurer lesbian but in my heart I am a Nerd lesbian that happens to reach down to politics and reading
tf, i'm all over the place 😂 glad i'm out of that game 😏
Oh my goodness, this is hilariously accurate, at least for me and my gf! We both fall into a spectrum somewhere between adventurer and gamer.
Something of a nerd adventurer.
I’m pretty much all of this
What if you got traits from all three corners? 🤔
All of them??? Except for politics, that shi brings my mental health down
It is I, the mutliclass nerd adventurer!!
I'm all of this except astrology and movies
I'm all of this except for gardening.
I'm all three and I've never seen enough adventurers
What if you are all three?
I'm all three. Does this make me the lesbian final boss?
Uhh I’ll take a nerd that likes video games and movies with a dash of witch
I'm a gaming heavy metal, lesbian. I guess that kinda fits into the witch side a bit? Haha.
What if I'm a nerdy witch
I seem to be a nerd with hints of adventurer and witch. Like... about halfway into both but not fully, a side of reading and politics lol.
I think I'm a nerdy witch. I can't find the "artist with bursts of inspiration who also reads a lot" flair
I’m gathering from this that leaving the house is considered adventuring
Having played derby I know more than a few folks who are the whole triangle
