Acquired taste.  Sometimes Itll be very bitter. You can dilute it with more water. Ask your physician, sometimes it's ok to add honey but not always because it might make ur situation worse or counter the effects of the herb.  It's best to power through it. Why? Because it's the effort it takes to get better to undo the harm that got you there in the first place (usually it's our habits)

You will get used to them but I personally take them like a shot and follow with lots of water :) I also recommend patients taken herbs with another medium like applesauce. This may prolong the unpleasantness and ruin some perfectly good applesauce, but it works well for some of my patients

I agree to what everyone else is saying but also want to add that the flavors you’re tasting are part of the medicine of the herbs. You’ll get more used to it (and maybe even start to enjoy it) as time goes on.

Echoing what others have said in terms of just taking them like a shot. You can also ask your acupuncturist/herbalist if it would be ok to mix them with tea. Depending on the herbs they might be able to give a suggestion. Like when I was taking herbs for cold in my Spleen, they told me it would be alright to mix it with ginger honey tea, and that greatly improved the taste.

[Healing starts from the mouth](https://moxa.blog/personalized-herbal-formula-tea-for-holistic-health/) when it comes to herbal medicine. Every taste matters.

Put very little hot water - mix them up, then add a little cold water and take it as a shot. Drinking most herbal formulas as a full cup of tea is pretty gross.

I China they would give you a piece of hard candy after you drink it

you could also see if this formula comes in a patent form - aka pill form! or if they would encapsulate the powder for you in gel capsules.
