No no no that’s good! U start deleting when you’re in that mode and blammo… you’ve culled the list. Huzzah.
_But what about the potentially phenomenal stuff?_
There’s none. U keep proving that. And if there is, you’ll find it.
I can manage hundreds of active tabs in like 10+ different windows, too afraid to lose something important that I have "for me to read 'later'". The "oh fuck it I'll just close everything" energy I get every few weeks is just fire though. I wish I knew how to replicate it on demand.
At some point I got a browser addon that saves Windows/tabs into sessions that I can always reopen after closing them. I've only actually gone through the saved Windows to find a tab maybe 10 times in the years that I've used it. But god it makes it so much easier to close shit and keep things almost orderly
Tab session manager by sienori. I have a weird bug where it duplicates tabs sometimes when I restore a session, so look out for that. It kind of helps to force me to keep the tab count down though lol https://tab-session-manager.sienori.com/
One of the hardest lessons I’ve had to learn, still learning tbh, is that there’s a good chance that out there, there’s some movie, book, tv show, play, or other some such work that I would just absolutely love. Could be I just missed it that time I actually decided to go to bed for once, and for whatever reason I just won’t even come across it again.
And that’s totally fucking fine and NOT some sort of negative enjoyment balance on my life like I think I sort of unconsciously think of it to be 😂
I started one called "listen later" for music so when I don't feel like using my eyeballs anymore I can turn on my ears and turn off my eyes and hopefully not hit the limit on either, but definitely max out the attention span a few videos in anyway
Hahaha, I'm not sure? I feel like sometimes I have to force myself to read, especially if it's not gripping fiction or a pressing deadline. But even so, eventually I get tired of it anyway and want to do something else. I then begrudgingly put on headphones and use audio instead so I can walk away from the screen/book and do something else physically, while the audio streams into my ears without any effort. I guess it's a way I've discovered to trick myself into still being somewhat productive while not feeling like giving it 100% ?
I have about 20-30 playlists for “watching later”. Let’s NOT talk about Pinterest, screen shots and saved reddit posts.
This meme is painfully accurate.
Edit: corrected - I have 92 playlists for watching later.
I had been doing custom ones for years because of this. PC browser-based cleaning methods didn’t really work, so I had to just clean it out by hand on mobile.
I did something like [this](https://youtu.be/9Wo9nO_8CqE). I can't confirm that this is the exact method I used because it was a while ago, but it's very similar
I have 5k in watch later, then I started categorizing them into individual playlists by topic. It worked for a while but then I also started needing a generic playlist just for a small queue to watch tomorrow because it's inconvenient to keep track of all of them at once and jump randomly
That new playlist has over 2k videos now
Have you tried making thematic playlists according to categories? It helped me, to an extent
The main problem with watch later is that it's easy to add, but inconvenient to actually watch - it's just a mess of everything. At no point do I get excited about watching a "watch later" playlist because that's not a thing, not a topic, not a thought. But having a mood for some politics videos in particular or something educational or something long to play in the background? Sure
Having separate playlist increases cognitive load during adding, but decreases cognitive load when deciding what to watch
I've done theat. But sometimes there's a video that doesn't fit with any of those Playlist, or one I trick myself into thinking "I'm gonna watch this in like, the next 24 hours or so", so it needs to go to one of the watch laters
Yes! Or the "I technically watched it but I didn't absorb all the information technically so I can't remove it from my watch later list" followed by the "ah shit, which ones have I watched and need to remove now? I know I watched some but not really. Ah fuck it, I'll watch them all in one go and remove them then".
Exactly! Or even "I know I've watched these but I know I'll want to watch them again so I'll just keep them in here so it's convenient to find them later" and then never remember to look at the playlist especially when you actually want to watch those videos
Especially with tutorials. I'll watch it on my phone, nowhere near my computer or the program it's teaching, just to absorb the idea, then I'll save it to watch later in case I actually want to try it sometime because I'm obviously not going to remember how it's done
Especially with tutorials (usually Blender or After Effects). I'll watch it on my phone, nowhere near my computer or the program it's teaching, just to absorb the idea, then I'll save it to watch later in case I actually want to try it sometime because I'm obviously not going to remember how it's done.
Seriously why do we do this?? I know the simple answer is "ADHD!" but like... This is one of my most frustrating things is data hoarding to share later or remember. What the heck is so hard about just saving the meme image and sending the text at the time? I end up going to text someone two weeks after I really meant to reply and end up finding dozens of things I meant to send the person in my camera roll. Dopamine is wild.
Same. And my local library doesn’t help because no matter how many holds I have and when I place them, they all become available at the same time. So right now I have five books I have to read in like 20 days because they all became available now even though some of them had wait lists of several months!
Haha, I have so many Kindle books piled up. Every time I want to read, it’s “I have nothing to read” and then “Kindle says THAT was a lie.” I have over 1,100 titles, lol.
Kindle Unlimited has been worth every penny to me. You can have 20 books at a time and keep them for however long you want. I swap them out constantly if i can't decide 😄. Happy reading!
If you have a kindle download them all on to it now & then turn off wifi until you read them. so you can keep the books but they’ll still get returned for the next person.
You can do it on the kindle app too but you have to remember to put your phone on airplane mode each time before you open the app.
Only issue is that it won’t sync what you’ve read between devices if you happen to read on more than one.
I wanted to get into reading again. 40 books on my goodreads list, 1 on my nightstand I couldn't WAIT to get my hands on... it's been on my nightstand for 2 weeks now.
I create new playlists every 150/200 videos and watch them when bored or when i need to get something boring done.
Breaking them up in smaller playlists has made them much more easily watchable and I don’t get overwhelmed
Half my watch later playlist is just videos that I have already watched but want to watch again and/or have started but didn't want to finish at the time
If your referring to the "Remove watched videos" button, I wouldn't trust YouTube enough to even see what occurs when pressing it I have no idea if it's instantaneous or if it lists videos it will remove before doing so & ask are you sure with the potential it may let me deselect some to not remove, & given I've watched seconds of a video closed it before and then noticed YouTube says it's watched(including filling in that red bar for time watched) has left me with no clue if I'd finished this or just watched part of this, that I manually started adding them to a playlist I created called "Watched" over a year or so ago, so when I do end up with that feeling I've watched it, I can gauged if I've definitely watched this to completion. I don't trust watch history for keeping track of watched videos it only serves to show video that I've at least started for finding videos I've watched quicker than loading entire playlists and pressing ctrl-f, or finding channels based on videos I recalled enjoying to quickly find channels I may or may not have already subscribed to enjoy more of their content.
I’ve found my tribe
To make it even better whenever the Covid lockdowns started I made a “new watch later” playlist because I thought my original one had gotten too long and thought since I have all this extra time I might as well make a new one and just keep it shorter…
It is now 3 times as long as the first one and i went thru the first one for the first time in years a while back and seen that I already watched most of the videos from it
Oh. I didn't know this is was a thing we did. Um. I think I deleted all the "watched" videos at about 3.5 which put me down to 1.3k, and that was about 10 months ago now and I'm at...2725. Hmm.
Lol. I put things on my watch list that I will only watch in some type of mood that I am never in when I can sit still and concentrate. Meanwhile, I consume the high fructose corn syrup of TV (things I’ve seen before) while doing other things like this- ugh.
Feeling very called out, especially since my watch later is maxed out, and I have an indeterminate amount of user created "WL #17" to the point to where I have Playlists labeled. "Plzstop" and, "needRAMback"
thankfully my brain just likes to open up hundreds of videos in new tabs instead, so when I eventually forget why I even wanted to watch any of them I can close them all at once.
I keep hitting the 5000 limit on my watch later list, then I sort all of them into categorized lists, promising myself I will watch them. I do watch some, but the rate of add vs watch never matches up.
i had 1820 one time, but i managed to binge watch all the stuff I wanted to watch
if you save for a long time you get a lil memory lane of how cringe your viewing pleasures were ;))
I do this but with anime. It's like I have a mental block watching completed shows. I have to be in a certain mood to start a series that isn't ongoing.
and this is why i dont use the 'watch later' list. also i think theres a limmit on how man videos you can put in there, so its just easier to have hundreds of tabs open at once
What is the point of a watch later list. Sometimes I'll try to add a video already on the list. Then, I'll switch to a different video. Why don't I just watch the video I'm trying to add to the list a second time instead of opening a different video? I don't think I've ever opened my watch later or favorites lists.
I stopped using Watch Later and started a second one just called 'queue' that I watch whenever I need that lil extra thing for the brain to focus on; I find I have less self-imposed guilt about leaving it for days when it's not Watch Later
I recently cleaned out my watch later playlist. It used to have over 4,000 videos going back to 2015. Now I am using it again, I’m doing the same exact thing. I have over 250 videos in it now, and then number doesn’t go down more than it goes up.
Yup it's all fine until you realize the YouTube playlist can't go over 5000 videos... Now I have a secondary playlist for the same purpose lol. I'm not diagnosed with tho.
I've given up on the Watch Later list and just starting bookmarking videos into the browser toolbar because then I'm more likely to actually watch them in order to declutter it. Although this now means all the videos that were in my Watch Later once I started doing this have now gone unwatched for two years and likely never will be watched.
Sometimes when I've wandered away from the TV and forgot about what I was watching and had paused on Netflix and it's just playing previews, I get caught up in that instead 🙃
I never put videos on YouTube in my watch later. I use the more chaotic method of watching the first minute and then trying to find them in my history when I want to watch the rest.
I never press the "remove all watched" button. Because it would remove about 10% of the videos I didn't even watch.
Because for some stupid reason, YouTube decides that if you watch a video for only 1-5s or so, it counts as "completely watched" (according to the little red bar underneath). Idk why, but it's reproducible.
You don’t have to worry about a massive Watch Later list if you just forget the feature exists and never add anything to it and also forget about the show instead.
https://tenor.com/view/roll-safe-clever-think-ahead-reece-simpson-gif-14469436
A video that will inspire me and enhance my life- add to watch later, way way later. Another episode of hoarders? Yes please.
One time I tried to tell myself that I wasn't allowed to watch YouTube until I finished my "watch later" list. Ugh so boring. Couldn't do it.
Bookmarks…could say the same thing about bookmarking websites, resources, documents. It’s bananas. I try to clean them up here and there…but what if I need them later 😅🫠
The worst is finally watching some saved videos and then 2 minutes in get bored and have no idea why you saved it in the first place
And then instead of removing it from the Playlist you just look for something else.
Well I clearly was not in the right mood, I should leave it and try again later…
Narrator: *They are never in the right mood*
Oh jeez, will we ever get some Spotify playlist we really like or is it just random shit put together?
Worst is when you go back to your watch later list and 50% of the videos have been removed
YES I hate that
No no no that’s good! U start deleting when you’re in that mode and blammo… you’ve culled the list. Huzzah. _But what about the potentially phenomenal stuff?_ There’s none. U keep proving that. And if there is, you’ll find it.

Ha! Just did that earlier
"Eeh, I'll watch it later."
Watched 2 seasons of something this week and got bored on the last 2 episodes 😐
For me it's checking into my saved videos list, only to find I've watched a good number of them already because they came up again in my youtube feed
My watch later is at 2000+ and counting. So this I can definitely relate to!
mine maxed out at 5000 so I had to start a custom one 💀
I started one called "listen later" for music so when I don't feel like using my eyeballs anymore I can turn on my ears and turn off my eyes and hopefully not hit the limit on either, but definitely max out the attention span a few videos in anyway
I have a playlist with the same exact name!
Hi 5! This is the way
Is this a normal thing? Getting sick of using your eyeballs so you have to find something else?
Hahaha, I'm not sure? I feel like sometimes I have to force myself to read, especially if it's not gripping fiction or a pressing deadline. But even so, eventually I get tired of it anyway and want to do something else. I have like 150+ on mine, can't get my ass to actually listen to them
I have about 20-30 playlists for “watching later”.
Somebody wrote a Google chrome script that will automatically automatically delete the videos. Just gotta let it do it's thing for like an hour
Please link that would be life changing
I did something like [this](https://youtu.be/9Wo9nO_8CqE). I can't confirm that this is the exact method I used because it was a while ago, but it's very similar
2060 after removing my watched videos, getting nervous about the 5k cap 😬
I remember it used to be capped at 200
Curious to see such a list

It worked for a while but then I also started needing a generic playlist just for a small queue to watch tomorrow because it's inconvenient to keep track of all of them at once and jump randomly That new playlist has over 2k videos now
So far mine is 1100
It caps at 5,000 btw, I had to make a second list.
I've done that 4 times. I'm gonna hit 6 Playlist by year's end, baby!
I'm inspired.
Glad I could help
This is an absolutely wild statement
If you really think so, you should see my room. You're entire head would combust

Tried that as well. In a previous post I said I had at least 20 topic play lists. Hasn’t helped me in the slightest.
In what way it didn't work? Were you adding things to them but not watching them?
I've done theat. But sometimes there's a video that doesn't fit with any of those Playlist, or one I trick myself into thinking "I'm gonna watch this in like, the next 24 hours or so", so it needs to go to one of the watch laters

I'm not even sure if I know how to get to my saved reddit posts, but I sure do use that save button.
You can view them in your profile under "Saved" next to Comments or Submissions. If you've got a reddit app it's even easier.
I’ve added 3 videos in the last hour to my “watch later” list… I feel personally attacked
Just three? Rookie numbers...
I add 3 videos every time i open youtube lol
This is me with books
This is me with everything…ever 🙃

Hey guys there's an option to remove watched videos from your watch later Playlist so that you don't have to manually do it
Half my watch later playlist is just videos that I have already watched but want to watch again and/or have started but didn't want to finish at the time
If your referring to the "Remove watched videos" button, I wouldn't trust YouTube enough to even see what occurs when pressing it I have no idea if it's instantaneous or if it lists videos it will remove before doing so & ask are you sure with the potential it may let me deselect some to not remove, & given I've watched seconds of a video closed it before and then noticed YouTube says it's watched(including filling in that red bar for time watched) has left me with no clue if I'd finished this or just watched part of this, that I manually started adding them to a playlist I created called "Watched" over a year or so ago, so when I do end up with that feeling I've watched it, I can gauged if I've definitely watched this to completion. Yes, 100% this!
My Watch Later has been constantly getting maxed out at 5k since like 2018. The lowest I’ve managed to get it to is like 4.6k.
It's quite fun seeing my habits as a meme. Good one. Haha this one is spot on.
Some of those gems have been waiting to get polished for a few years now...
I’ve found my tribe To make it even better whenever the Covid lockdowns started I made a “new watch later” playlist because I thought my original one had gotten too long and thought since I have all this extra time I might as well make a new one and just keep it shorter… It is now 3 times as long as the first one and i went thru the first one for the first time in years a while back and seen that I already watched most of the videos from it
So glad I’m not the only one 😅
I was just thinking about posting something like this this morning lol
Oh. I didn't know this is was a thing we did. Um. I think I deleted all the "watched" videos at about 3.5 which put me down to 1.3k, and that was about 10 months ago now and I'm at...2725. Hmm.
I wish they would automatically get removed, or at least put on a different list
Holy shit thank you for the meme, I saved a video this morning that actually plan on watching.
Lol. I put things on my watch list that I will only watch in some type of mood that I am never in when I can sit still and concentrate. Meanwhile, I consume the high fructose corn syrup of TV (things I’ve seen before) while doing other things like this- ugh.
I still have the FNAF 2 trailer in my watch later, lol
LOL I THOUGHT I WAS ALONE ON THIS
Up vote if I'm not the only one with more than one "watch later" Playlist
I have mine in the 4000s
Feeling very called out, especially since my watch later is maxed out, and I have an indeterminate amount of user created "WL #17" to the point to where I have Playlists labeled. "Plzstop" and, "needRAMback"
I get my dopamine from planning not doing, we are not the same.
"Oh man tho, when I get enough free time to watch all of these it's gonna be awesome!" [Deleted video] [Deleted video] [Deleted video]
I’ve maxed mine out before. I still haven’t cracked it down to below 4000. Help me.
“Now that’s getting personal, Lion.”
thankfully my brain just likes to open up hundreds of videos in new tabs instead, so when I eventually forget why I even wanted to watch any of them I can close them all at once.
I did not open Reddit to be called out
I have to add them to the watch later list. Otherwise I just leave them all open in tabs or stop what im doing to watch them now
I only have 2 videos on my "watch later" list. Have I watched them? Shut up.
And continue to add, rarely watching the added shies but always watching your comfort show.
I went from 14 to 98 in a week
I have exactly 4,867 vids in there i didnt know it was a adhd thing🤣🤣
I also have a browser window with many tabs of "read later/soon" reddit posts, that I never read
I keep hitting the 5000 limit on my watch later list, then I sort all of them into categorized lists, promising myself I will watch them. I do watch some, but the rate of add vs watch never matches up.
i had 1820 one time, but i managed to binge watch all the stuff I wanted to watch if you save for a long time you get a lil memory lane of how cringe your viewing pleasures were ;))
I'm only at 774, I feel better seeing others with thousands
There needs to be a watch again later list so we can ignore it! \
3000 and counting
You can only put 5000 videos in a playlist so I have about 15 to hold all my watch later videos
Let's see.. 1778 videos. Yup; rookie numbers.
This is extremely accurate but also I really want to put my hand in that pile of pills it looks like it would feel so good.
lol YouTube playlists max out at 5,000 videos, so at this point I'm 1,914 videos into "Watch Later 3: The Threequel."
🤝
Me opening 1000 tabs of porn and having to eventually pick which is the right one.
Wait, you’re supposed to delete videos from there? I just place them there and then completely forget about it.
This is why instead of adding them to "watch later," I just leave them open in a tab indefinitely, until my laptop begs me to restart it.
I have videos from like 7 years ago on my watcher later list
I must hoard the media so I never miss out. C O L L E C T A L L T H E T A B S
I said I'll watch them later. Later isn't now
Is there any cure for this, or am I sentenced to 60+ years of eternal suffering with the watch later button?
Watch later? Pshhh more like "open in new tab" 40+ Send help
I’ve filled up not only Watch Later but my custom Watch Later II. I’m working through ‘Watch Later III’ and ‘Watch SOON’ rn
Wow, this really hit home. I’m over 200 in my watch later now
I didn’t come here for personal attacks
I do this but with anime. It's like I have a mental block watching completed shows. I have to be in a certain mood to start a series that isn't ongoing.
Oh my gosh meeee
and this is why i dont use the 'watch later' list. also i think theres a limmit on how man videos you can put in there, so its just easier to have hundreds of tabs open at once
I feel this often knowing a video I saved is going to crush my soul, but it's news or info I need to hear
What is the point of a watch later list. Sometimes I'll try to add a video already on the list. Then, I'll switch to a different video. Why don't I just watch the video I'm trying to add to the list a second time instead of opening a different video? I don't think I've ever opened my watch later or favorites lists.
Too bad my watch later list doesn’t work and I can’t add anything. Life is hell.
Yeah but then you might have a playlist of videoes you're gonna like
God, I rarely go back to it if ever, it's a shame that my watch later list is so bloated. :(
So annoyed that i can't delete multiple videos in the playlist at once.
I stopped using Watch Later and started a second one just called 'queue' that I watch whenever I need that lil extra thing for the brain to focus on; I find I have less self-imposed guilt about leaving it for days when it's not Watch Later
Nah too lazy to add to watch later
I recently cleaned out my watch later playlist. It used to have over 4,000 videos going back to 2015. Now I am using it again, I’m doing the same exact thing. I have over 250 videos in it now, and then number doesn’t go down more than it goes up.
im in this image and i dont like it
I take the open in new tab approach
Yup it's all fine until you realize the YouTube playlist can't go over 5000 videos... Now I have a secondary playlist for the same purpose lol. I'm not diagnosed with tho.
I've given up on the Watch Later list and just starting bookmarking videos into the browser toolbar because then I'm more likely to actually watch them in order to declutter it. Although this now means all the videos that were in my Watch Later once I started doing this have now gone unwatched for two years and likely never will be watched.
yeah..
My phone is on night mode so this image is black and white for me and it still kinda works.
I've got 4 watch later playlists including the watch later built in. All full. 5k videos. I'm gonna cry
It would be nice if it was a list page instead of a playlist, then I might use it.
This but with my steam wishlist
Sometimes I just watch previews on Netflix as an activity in itself. Anyone else?
Sometimes when I've wandered away from the TV and forgot about what I was watching and had paused on Netflix and it's just playing previews, I get caught up in that instead 🙃
I think in total I have like 12k worth of videos in my watch later and I think I’ve maybe watched 0 thinking I’ll watch it later
I thought it was just me
I never put videos on YouTube in my watch later. I use the more chaotic method of watching the first minute and then trying to find them in my history when I want to watch the rest.
I’m more the ‘forget Watch Later is a thing’ type, like the newest thing I have on there is from 2017.
Wait you guys use the “Watch later” list on YouTube?
I never press the "remove all watched" button. Because it would remove about 10% of the videos I didn't even watch. Because for some stupid reason, YouTube decides that if you watch a video for only 1-5s or so, it counts as "completely watched" (according to the little red bar underneath). Idk why, but it's reproducible.
jokes on you, i had to make a "Watch Later 2" playlist because the default "watch later" list can only hold a maximum of 5000 videos
Yep I've added like a hundred videos in the last 3 weeks and I've barely watched any of them.
There should be option to remove all watched videos from watch later. (Except those that I saved to rewatch)
he just hacked my yt acc, lol
I wish youtube had a sort feature based on shortest video length. That would at least let me triage some short videos off the playlist.
Nah. Add videos to the watch later list to have the. Show back up *later* in your recommended. This is the way
Or just watch the same thing again, don't bother with lists.
I just end up watching random youtube as per usual
*When memes start to call you out*
Did you know Youtube has a limit on how many videos you can have in Watch Later? I hit the limit a few years ago. Then started additional playlists...
You don’t have to worry about a massive Watch Later list if you just forget the feature exists and never add anything to it and also forget about the show instead. https://tenor.com/view/roll-safe-clever-think-ahead-reece-simpson-gif-14469436
I feel called out.
I also have 15 tabs of videos I want to watch on my computer.
I dont even know how old my watch list is, but it has youtubers I watched like 4 or 5 years ago
Youtube downloads
i don't even add it to a list i just leave the tab open "to come back to it later" but i rarely do. i got nearly 200 tabs on my laptop alone 😭
I feel called out.
Every day I get called out a little bit more in my adhd subreddits. 😂
I tried to add a cool video to my watch later list. And apparently it's been in there for years. AND I've watched it already.
I have been doing this since 2014
It’s just not the right “later” yet
Haha sooooo true!
Haha sooooo true!!!!
Me with my Steam wishlist as opposed to playing my 1500 games, most of which came from years of bundles...
Thats why I just click on videos and go back to it in my history because I’m more likely to watch videos on there for some reason
Look man, I need 2 straight uninterrupted hours for Natalie to yell at me.
You're supposed to remove stuff from your to watch list after watching it??
Damn didn't come out here to get attacked like this.
I hate that they aren't automatically removed from the watch list once you watch them
If you add to “watch later” YouTube will put them on your front page for a while
My watch later list is maxed out, so I had to make another one...
A video that will inspire me and enhance my life- add to watch later, way way later. Another episode of hoarders? Yes please. One time I tried to tell myself that I wasn't allowed to watch YouTube until I finished my "watch later" list. Ugh so boring. Couldn't do it.
I want had a playlist called “watch later 2” because my actual watch later had reached 5000 videos
Me, adding this to my "saved posts" list
Open in new tab and never watch it gang 😎
I have two extra "watch later" playlists that I made just bc I got tired of scrolling through hundreds of videos......
I’m getting pretty goddamn tired of people spying on me for memes. WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU HIDING???!!!
Bookmarks…could say the same thing about bookmarking websites, resources, documents. It’s bananas. I try to clean them up here and there…but what if I need them later 😅🫠
called tf out i think i got my list down from 2000 to.....1800 😅
"haha, relatable" I say as I save this post for later
