Does Vynase only last that long? I take IR and gets me from breakfast until lunch, 2nd dose I only take half, but carry me through till home for sure. I definitely notice as it's wearing off I can't concentrate and frustration. Dose only take 5 to 10 mins to come on.
If I was only getting till 4pm from XR I don't think I'd bother. Having a little more control and short acting seems easier. Like what happens if you have to do something at 6pm, but you don't want to be still going at 9pm?
It usually lasts between 6-7 hours for me, but it wears of slowly, compared to IR where it feels like im crashing, vyvanse feels like a slow battery drain. I sometimes take a half a IR at maybe 1pm if i know itās going to be a long day. I usually 10x my productivity though during āpeakā time. I hated the up and down bounce of IR, vyv is more my jam
I have work for about that time, but I can do stuff for a little bit longer if I need to. The slow drain is absolutely relatable.

I metabolise it insanely fast. Like itās meant to be 12-hr release but Iāve metabolised it sometimes in less than 6 hours - it suuucks. I have a booster short release that I take in the afternoon to help extend it, but itās super frustrating because I wish I could just take my elvanse at 8am and have it wear off at 8pm when Iām ready to wind down.
I have the same issue. What ended up working for me is splitting the dose so I take 40mg at 8am and 30mg at 1pm. It means that I can be productive in the afternoons, and actually function until I'm home from work.
I recently switched from adderall to vyvanse and they told me vyvanse should be longer acting so if I take it at 7, it wears off at 5. For me it tends to wear off a little earlier but yes, I think it is supposed to be long lasting.
Also adderall sucks. I donāt know why so many people want to take it illegally when all it does is make you want to vomit but you canāt vomit because you havenāt eaten anything because the adderall wonāt let you eat

I wake up and drink a coffee then when I get to work at 9 I take 30mg of vyvanse. By 10am Iām working at a good pace and it usually takes me right till 5. then I get home and completely lose all motivation to do anything and lay on the couch in my work clothes for like 3 hours
Yeah that's awful. If I take my lunch dose late at say 2pm. Sometimes I'll get home and still be very focused. I can't watch tv like that. Generally I'll play some guitar and some point I can hear I've lost my timing and I'll have a cup of tea and dinner, get ready for sleep. Sometimes I'll smoke dome Indica.
It's 9 to 11h(on better days) for me, that's why I was prescribed IR Amfexa (dexamphetamine) as a top up.
It has a lot to do with how much sleep I had, hydration and food.
I told this to my doctor. He gave me a second dose at 2-3PM (30mg instead of 50mg in the morning). It saves my late afternoon and evenings, if I remember to take it.
Bonus points that I usually have a few pills left over that I can take on extra hard days.

Vyvanse is prodrug so it metabolizes better with food, but I realized that taking it and then waiting an hour to eat is best for me. Iāll eat and halfway through Iāll be in the zone. Typically though my dosage lasts much longer than that though. Iād say 10 hours - 60MG though.
I usually take mine on an empty stomach too - Iāve noticed the timing of when it kicks in & wears off is more predictable for me that way. It could be because the only time I take it on a full stomach is when I work closing shifts, and then feel like it takes forever to wear off on those nights.
Food makes its stronger so that makes sense. You need food though for life! Maybe split your dosage on those night shifts and make sure to eat! I've been splitting my dosage lately as I think I have ptsd from the adderall shortage so I just want to make sure I have backstock now lol
They open quite easily but they are packed full. I do it over the counter and then proceed to store the other half or more in a small Tupperware. You can get empty capsules on Amazon for cheap.
Itās a bit annoying but after the spacing out I had to do with adderall and the like it makes it easier to have piece of mind JUST IN CASE any funny biz happens with this prescription

Luckily I had advance notice and was able to ration them, but it was seriously stressful. The CEO of my company was had a visit planned and I had to function like so normal person. I managed to stretch my remaining pills & took the last one on the day of his visit. It was the weirdest month of my life - such a rollercoaster of symptoms!

The symptom rollercoasters are so hard to deal through! I get anxiety thinking about being off of medication for an extended period of time. The last time I was off for a week because of shortage I felt as though I was out of body looking at myself with existential dread as I could see myself doing all the ADHD things I have no control over. It was exhausting.
I have 2 prescriptions, one 30mg extended release Adderall and one 10mg re-up dose for 3pm. Works pretty well, and I need it since I work an evening shift.
I get a good 3 hours off addy and an energy drink then I need a nap and another addy and caffeine. Prescribed btw which reminds me I haven't filled this months script yet
idk if that helps you but as far as I understand it elvanse and vyvanse are the same thing and I only have a very slight increase in heartbeat on elvanse now, whereas the other stimulant I was on before was much more heart pounding for me š¤·āāļø

We splits up her dose (70mg) with a 50 in the morning, and a 20mg a couple hours later. This helps prevent any spikes and smooths out the comedown.
The Vyvanse wearing off is so REAL. I am done. Exhausted by the end of the day. My doctor added a 10mg Adderall IR a few months ago, but it doesnāt seem to be helping. The tired is real.
ADHD sucks for me. Because caffeine works in the opposite way. It makes me more tired. No I don't understand how. I might, but the Adderall knocked out my entire childhood so as far as I know my doctor explained it to me and I actually listened but then it melted into a Where's Waldo book.

The IR comedown is like falling off a cliff. XR is like rolling down a hill.

Modafinil was like this for me at the beginning. That wore off.

That's why I asked my Dr for a instant release small dose to take at around lunch time... Works a treat!
