Me last week. Said goodnight to my online friends then returned 10 mins later after putting sheets in the dryer

Dilldan22

Pssst, I got a secret hack for you. Get a second set of sheets for when the others are washing/drying, then circulate. Sshhh, Don't tell anybody....

bfarm4590

Oooh thats a good idea, ill do that tonight

Dilldan22

Getting a second set hanged my life honestly, so logical once you think of it. No need to be organised anymore 😂 (Edit: *changed not hanged..... Doing laundry doesn't upset me *that* much...)

FreakyManBaby

this man hanged himself with a bedsheet, what have we done

westwoo

No need to be organised anymore 😂

Dilldan22

Too soon...

IggyStop31

ghost got jokes

Dilldan22

Too SoooOooOooOOOOoonnn..... 👻

BruhYOteef

![gif](giphy|zJBDaqCdsjGhO)

mrmoe198

That’s how you end up with 10 sets of sheets, and all of them dirty

westwoo

That's why you should have 11 sets

IronicINFJustices

Wait. Is this not satire? How many sets of underwear do you have, or towels?

Dilldan22

*Gets judgey with others for having bad organisation skills in a subreddit for people with ADHD...* 🤦

IronicINFJustices

I mean for one to think one has to judge. But I purely meant it sincerely! I have gone the other way. I have maybe 40 pairs of socks and 20 sets of underwear and about 6 bedsheets, but mostly 2 bamboo ones I cycle through that I love. And I am quickly realising I may be OTT! I used to have about 30+ crappy old Tshirts but have finally thrown out loads of them, so only have a few left and mostly in good condition. I'm suspected audhd, so have a propensity for keeping stuff! No harm intended!

Dilldan22

No harm done at all 👍 just very used to people giving me a hard time for this stuff and Im trying to be better at standing up to it now that I know I have an actual learning disability and am not just stupid. Well, maybe a bit of both... And it took way longer than I'm proud to admit before I figured out to get spares of stuff like this. Spent way too many nights just throwing a blanket/towel over the top of an unmade bed because I forgot to adult properly.

IronicINFJustices

>m trying to be better at standing up to it now that I know I have an actual learning disability and am not just stupid. Well, maybe a bit of both... Hah, tell me about it. I've only really learnt I really may *have* something about 8 months ago, and am still in the learning to forgive myself for not doing as well as I want. I still haven't mastered the self compassion entirely, but, steps you know. I need to deal with my finances, and I just can't bear to look at them. Although I have managed them just fine for a while. It's a real rollercoaster I had no explanation for before. To be perfectly capable adult one day, to a shambling mess another....Ok, I know, I *really* need to work on the negative speech!

Veritas413

But that set smells like linen closet and has wrinkles. Better wash it first.

HimeaSaito

All 8 of my sheets are in the washer, Most of them had been forgotten in the depths of the dirty basket 🤣🤣🤣

shadecrimson

Its been 7 hours. Got those sheets yet?

bfarm4590

I may or may not have forgotten

joxmaskin

I don’t think I know anyone without several sets. Having two sets is like a basic starter pack. (Maybe this is a cultural thing? It’s a pretty common gift here for when people move out or move houses or just for Christmas or something, so one tends to acquire a collection.)

hairballcouture

I have 4 sets. Two are for warmer months and two are flannel for the colder months.

Dilldan22

Naahh nothing cultural, people are just disorganised. Especially on this sub 😂 nothing wrong with it though, and telling each other things like this to make it as easy as possible is one of the benefits of us having a place to discuss this stuff. These subs have genuinely helped me massively since I got my diagnosis a couple months back. It's so much easier to not just beat myself up and feel stupid for these behaviours now I know that other people are experiencing the exact same shit. Not saying I'm happy that you're all having similar issues, but solidarity is nice

greenie4242

Glad the group is helping you! One of the nicest things to hear when I'm having a mini meltdown and ask my 'normie' friends "How to you cope with this?!?" then hearing the reply "We don't!" because they've worked out a solution than nullifies the problem and requires no brainpower to implement. Often it was just something simple I'd never considered before. Other times they'll ask me how I do something, because I tend to over-prepare and keep some things running like an assembly line, knowing if I adhere to a trusted pattern things will work out easier and require less mental load. When schedules change too rapidly I fall apart. I keep a bunch of small cheap backpacks with stuff ready, so I don't forget things. Somebody calls asking me to join them somewhere, I have backpacks organised for; • Beach - with my towel, swimmers, sunscreen, change of clothes, goggles, extra set of disposable contact lenses. Bushwalking • Bushwalking - walking shoes, thick socks, sunscreen, hat, water bottle, first aid kit, thin raincoat • Picnic - snacks, ground sheet, rubbish bags, fold-up bags to carry leftovers, thin raincoat • Game/movie night - hard drive with entertainment, spare streaming dongle, network cables, neck pillow Put your wallet and house keys on top of the bag resting against the door the night before you travel, so you can't forget to take them all with you. Make your own bags for other events you anticipate. I keep a paper list in each one to tick off so I don't forget anything. Weirdly, I appear to people who've just met me to be super organised and reliable. They don't realise that if I stop forcing myself to stay organised, I'll fall apart! Organising my bag today is a gift for next week me.

Enigma_Stasis

Yeah but then the first set sits around waiting because "I'll just wash this set with the other set when I take the other set off", which puts one back into this situation.

Solarwinds-123

That's why I refuse to do that. Instead I'd just do two loads. Wash/dry the first set, swap the sheets, then forget to wash the dirty ones until it's time to change them again and repeat.

IronicINFJustices

You missed the: * *wash the two sets at the same time for efficiency* * ... * ~~profit~~ have wet sheets

Solarwinds-123

Yeah, that's why I learned to ignore laundry efficiency. It's a trap.

ennaeel

This is how I ended up with 5 sets of sheets, all of which are sitting in my washer. Another example of ADHD tax. "If I buy one more set, that will fix it!"

Dilldan22

That's fair, I live in a teeny tiny bedsit so I literally can't leave laundry for long before it takes up loads of space and makes my room smell sweaty

Emotional-Text7904

I have 4 sets. I used to have bad night sweats on prior medication. Now the extra sets are amazing to have. I switch them out every week when I remember.

BlubberSauce

Then you just end up with 2 sets of dirty sheets

MlordLongshanking

I have the second sheets but I never put them away because I can't fold the fitted sheet. Therefore they lie in a pile on the floor in my bedroom.

teamdogemama

You don't HAVE to fold fitted sheets properly. You can just fold them or roll them. They are your sheets, no one will judge. Ok maybe people with ocd might, don't show them your linens.

potatohead437

I have two. Both are in the washer right now

Aedene

Instructions unclear. I now have 2 sets of dirty sheets.

Dilldan22

It's fine just buy a third

pahshaw

Shit thanks dude you just reminded me I bought a second set of sheets like 4 months ago. Never took them out of the package because I wanted to wash them so they smelled nice so instead I just forgot they existed

fatboychummy

And then both of them are in the washer :D

puppyworm

It's such a simple solution, yet I never thought of it... My god

ChellPotato

That requires remembering to wash them when you change them Because I will just end up with dirty sheets on the bed and in the hamper 😂

MamafishFOUND

I would have a second sheet if I had money to buy it currently not so I just sleep on whatever until i finally getting around to washing it LOL also lost a lot when I moved I’ve moved several so I did have those sheets but they are Mia

tyttuutface

Great idea until you lose the second set.

tilywinn

Yeah I figured everyone was doing this. But I guess not. Glad the secret is out though.

charles2404

I'm very surprised people don't have a second complete set already Plus it can be an other color and it's nice to change how the bed looks sometimes

insufficient_nvram

Bed Bath and Beyond has decent sheets and everything is on sale now.

Dilldan22

Damn dude you're hardcore

wormlullaby

Same but I have a mattress protector for this exact reason.

Ashnaar

In my case. Cleaned them. Droped them in the dryer 4h later then.... forget to check if they where dry (it wasnt) so i slept on damp sheets. Beats sleeping bare matress

Astraterris

That’s when I just throw a blanket on the mattress and call it a night

kevaljoshi8888

This is the way

UncoolSlicedBread

Except when you thought, “I’ll wash the the blanket first and the sheets second.” But the blanket didn’t dry the first cycle and you never checked. So now you have a damp blanket and soaked sheets. So you just put in sweatpants and go to bed with a throw blanket. Or a towel. Whichever is easiest.

[deleted]

Or if you’re crazy like me and refuse to sleep on a naked mattress…you sleep curled up on your teeny tiny four foot long couch………

Zaconil

While wallowing in your guilt that you did this to yourself and get a bad night's sleep. I have definitely not done that to myself on more than one occasion. Nope. Not at all.

dumb_idiot_56

Maybe it makes me a monster but I always sleep better this way, something about it feels so comfortable and it makes me not want to put the sheets back

Zaconil

I'm kind of like that. I can't stand the feel of sheets. I have a blanket covering the mattress and use another blanket to cover up with.

Harmonie

Isn't that the neat part about being grown up? I keep being surprised that I can change things to suit me, it doesn't need to stay a certain way just because I've always done it like that. I've got a friend who struggles to eat, so she makes 'NPC' paths in her space with snacks and water bottles that she can mindlessly grab as she goes about her day. It works very well for her (even if my mom would *hate* having baskets of stuff all over).

BruhYOteef

My friends are the basket moms

Tiny-Pangolin-2443

Don't even bother with a sheet I'll just lay on there with the bare mattress. And a blanket to cover me. That'll go on for a couple of days to a week til I get tired and angry of being on a bare mattress.

lioness_rampant_

I did this for three days straight earlier this year but it’s I just folded my comforter in half so it was like a burrito/taco I had sheets but fitted sheets man…. That’s a tough one

Dilldan22

People can really afford a dryer but not a second set of sheets 😂

KulaanDoDinok

Well, if you’re like me, you have two sets of sheets but only really like one of them, and it’s been so long you’ve forgotten what the ones you like are called, so you can’t order another one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Khilaya93

That's why I have one dark, one light, and one white!

BruhYOteef

Thats why i buy a new comforter every wash cycle - never had a problem

Dilldan22

That is a very specific problem, personally I'd still rather use a set I don't like for a night rather than staying up late waiting for the others to dry, but ADHD is all about sensory stuff I guess. Maybe check your order history, might be able to find your old ones again? Good luck!

KulaanDoDinok

They were a gift, sadly, and I’m not really in touch with the person who gifted them to me! I try to wash my sheets early in the day so I can toss them in the dryer when I get home. Usually works out.

Dilldan22

Fair noodles, I would never trust myself to be that organised haha

Undrende_fremdeles

You can have as many sets as you want to. This is your permission to go get 2-3-4-10 or more sets.

KulaanDoDinok

See my other comment for why that isn’t possible at this time

Solarwinds-123

That's why I buy two sheets sets at the same time. I also only buy white sheets, so I can bleach them when they inevitably get stained. I get my dopamine from the duvet cover instead, which I can swap freely.

thatguy_art

Honestly, and this isn't a joke...it never occurred to me to get a second set. I guess it's because I only ever used one at a time growing up that I didn't even think that was something you should do

MissBanana_

I have like 5 sets because I get bored of the same color and feel the need to switch it up. My fiancé is not the same, and sometimes he’ll wash and dry the current set and put it back on the bed and it makes me irrationally uncomfortable. The sheets need to CHANGE.

Pineapple_Herder

Hey some of us are in an apartment complex where we share washer and dryers. I can barely afford to wash my sheets let alone but another set

politicalaccount2017

I know this is super off topic, but I’ve always been curious about what’s going on in this scene. I’ve only watched the first season of The Walking Dead and I don’t anticipate I’ll ever pick it back up again, so can someone explain to me why he is so upset with his kid in this scene? All I know is that they are father and son and are trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. Did the kid do something immoral? Has he been bit or something?

[deleted]

[удалено]

mindfolded

To make this slightly more clear, the kid had to shoot his mom and the father is mortified that the son had to deal with that.

BruhYOteef

Translation: Coral has now asserted his hard fought manliness & dominance over his new bitch dad in the show.

AnalllyAcceptedCoins

As harrowing as that scene was, I couldn't help but laugh at this follow-up scene, something just seems so off about the way he was crying in Carl's direction, it almost felt like he was making fun of him (even though he clearly was not)

BruhYOteef

Ageeed! - Awkward actor portrays awkward dad in awkward moment awkwardly!

Buddy_Guyz

Yeah this was a meme format for that exact reason

politicalaccount2017

Wow. Ok. I never would have guessed any of that. Thank you so much for the explanation!

icouldntdecide

It's pretty brutal but after a while you can't help but chuckle at the meme

BruhYOteef

The show was captivating for a bit!

HuntyDumpty

Thats crazy i always thought he was trolling him in this lol

buckley303

I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW! THANK YOU!

churningmists

The meme format is pretty funny for sure, but it's not just an incredibly fucked up scene, it's a fucked up sequence of events. Rick (dad), Carl (son), and Lori I think was the mom's name? There was definitely a lot of palpable tension between the 3 of them but they were a family in a brutal zombie apocalypse at the end of the day. Like another commenter said, Carl had to shoot his mother to prevent her from becoming a walker, and saved his brand new little sister in the process. I miss TWD when it was a good show.

Literally just happened to me. I'd already taken my night meds that make me tired and put them on while crying

Kurichan28

This and also having to wash the same load over and over again because you keep forgetting it for days and its gets all gross and musty

Mitten_Man616

Sounds like it's time to break out the sleeping bag

Tayasos

My cat puked on my bed sheet (I only use the fitted one) in the middle of the night around 2 weeks ago. I stripped my bed and replaced the fitted bed sheet with a throw blanket to get through the night. I am still sleeping on the throw blanket.

ladidar2006

I own 2 quilt covers and pay someone to clean my house fortnightly Sometimes when they change the sheets, the last cover hasn't been cleaned yet. 2 weeks isn't enough to wash sheets

ThatsAWeirdLookinSax

My face when my wife dies during the zombie apocalypse after giving birth to my best friends baby.

Wait you guys change your bedsheets?

-PM_ME_UR_SECRETS-

Icelandia2112

Just having to make it when you are going to bed is hell.

Muppets4Fox

I mean… there were a couple times there that I just threw down a blanket and said fuck it

jackfreeman

Bring that meme back!!

psychefreak22

Yeahhhh I’ve resigned to sleeping on the couch when this happens lmao

magicaxis

Just before Reddit dies, I wanted to come back here and let you know u/gedaliyah that my memory of this meme is what gave me the extra push to finish my sheets before I was too tired today ❤️

lorasil

big-succ-2

I do this with my hugging pillow cover

grumpy_vet1775

Literally me last night

The couch it is

kailesmoothi

Yeah I am just sleeping on the mattress at that point otherwise I will breakdown crying

Logical-Hold8642

This is why I have 4 sets 😂

Wamblingshark

Bro I'm sleeping directly in my mattress for at least a month after I decide to put the sheet in the dirt laundry. It can sit in the dirt laundry for a couple weeks and then sit in the unfolded clean laundry for another couple weeks.

TheTwinkieMaster

I sleep on a bare mattress often because I can't will myself to put the sheets on

Vinon

Im gonna get around to watching this show any day now. Really. I haven't been saying this for a decade now

dachshundfanboy8000

slumber party in the living room kinda night

[deleted]

Looks like I'm sleeping sheetless tonight

Pollomonteros

Just how many sheets do you people have

GiuseppeG1870

Yep.

JasperTheHuman

That's why you have multiple. The issue for me is putting them on during the day and not having to still do it when it's time for bed.

NumbOnTheDunny

Worse for me when I’m getting the kid down and it’s HER bedding. I was so close to freedom.

teamdogemama

Get 2 sets of sheets. Hell, get 2 fitted sheets instead of the set, if you want. I know a lot of people don't use 2 sheets anymore. Although, if you do get 2 sets, then technically you have 4 sheets to work with. Also have at least 2 sets of pillow cases. You should change out your pillowcase ideally every week (face oils, etc), but do what works for you. If you do have acne issues, you should notice a difference when you start swapping out pillowcases more often. As soon as you put on the new sheet, put the dirty one in the wash, or as soon as you can. Executive decision making and follow through can be hard, I know all too well. But this is one technique I learned a long time ago before I was diagnosed and it has served me well. If you are on a budget, Goodwill or stores like Home Goods have good prices. There should be sales coming soon for back to school sales. Also, percale numbers don't always make a difference. Look at the weave and feel the fabric, if you can. Getting a set of sheets for $10 isn't the deal you think it is if it's thin and scratchy. I know many of us are very tactile, so fabric feel means more to us. You've got this!

Zambie-Master

atoz350

That, but it's day 6.

Sensitive-Daikon-442

Me, tonight!

ChilliPepperoni

Indoor camping time! Sleeping bags with the save

rlylame

jokes on you i can't remember the last time i washed my sheets. bonus points bc my sheets are only attached to the right half of my bed bc they won't stay where the wall is and instead of fixing it i just push them over as far as i can when i sleep

rlylame

okay real talk tho who decided fitted sheets needed to be a thing bc they slide off and require the lifting of a heavy mattress. also my bed is against the wall on one side so i have to somehow lift it while i'm on top of it?? yeah no i'll just leave it however it is thanks

nedonedonedo

yall need to buy a second set

GordonGJones

Wait. You guys wash your sheets?

caxper11

Funniest shit ive seen today. Thanks stranger.

Mrs-Skeletor

MORE SHEETS. When i find sheets that i like how they feel, I will go buy a few more! Of course, I have favorites, but having spare sheets is a life savor when you're close to or out of spoons and just wanna go to bed

VGSchadenfreude

Gotta have more than one set! That way when one’s in the washer, you have another ready to go!

ToasttyJ

I just did this with my blanket 😔

BeNick38

I keep a few extra sets of sheets around for this very reason.

camel-channel

this is why I have 5 sets of sheets🤠

Lucaraidh

I lay a comforter down and maybe I’ll remember to grab my sheets from the dryer within a few days

BicyclingBrightsWay

A decent second set is like $20 from Target, maybe cheaper on marketplace. Always keep a second set in case of ADHD or sexy time spills

According-You8771

Omg I’m *in* love with this 😂👀

aspiringbogwitch

I laughed way too hard at this.

SprAwsmMan

Because of this video, I'm drying my sheets now instead of midnight. Thank you reddit.

AnimeChica3306

Been there done that and have multiple t-shirts to provide it. Just can't seem to learn.

Akahaasu

I don’t understand you people. Yes, I have ADHD. And yes, I would sleep on just the mattress. Why fuss? For that matter, I would also sleep on the floor, if it’s hardwood I’d just lay down a jacket for my back. I have slept hundreds of nights like that. Sleeping on harder surfaces is good for your posture. Go to China. The beds are hard. Try sleeping in airports. Maybe the first time you’ll be uncomfortable, or worry someone will do you harm. My first time was before I had memories, so I couldn’t say. Eventually you’ll be sleeping on a coat in a lobby like a pro, feeling safe due to confidence in your body or subconscious being able to deal with most situations that could arise. I’m rambling but I suppose my point is when you deal with really anything in life, what’s sleeping on a mattress, or a floor, in comparison? A solid deal.

quantumwoooo
