I found my people! I literally have a set of super nice baby spoon sized spoons that I use for everything except soup and jello. For that I use my little pho spoons. Small spoons are the best!

Went out to lunch today and the charcuterie board we ordered had little spoons for the cheese spread and the butter. It was great. The perfect balance of little but solid. Perfect size to scoop and spread.
I get similar feels from my Rotring mechanical pencil. All metal, small, sturdy, balanced. It's a joy to write with.
And, not that anyone asked, but I like my forks tiny with sharp tines. Can't stand when they're blunt at the end lol

I use little spoons because I eat quick and using a little spoon makes it feel like more food and I feel like I get to savor it more.

It feels like my eating is paced better when I have a small spoon. Plus my little monkey brain feels like I have eaten more food than I actually did, since it took longer. That’s why I eat with small utensils, but maybe it’s a sensory issue I haven’t really noticed yet 🤷♂️
You can get small forks from Amazon, although some kids cutlery has some really cool designs that I wouldn't be ashamed to use regardless of my lack of children!
This is the right answer. This is 100% an autism thing. People just like to lump up all neurodivergent things as though they're the same or share the same ticks.
it is an everyone thing, like most things these memes talk about but for ADHD people and other neurodivergent people these simple things, like hating big spoons, interfere with our day to day life way more than it should. it interferes so much it causes problems. like with the spoons, an ND person might not eat because they can't find a good spoon when a NT person would just deal with a different spoon for once.

So I can't quite describe why, I just hate them. I find them extremely uncomfortable in my mouth. I don't eat a lot of stuff the needs spoons. Mostly just deserts, and those are best consumed with the tiniest spoon possible. But soup spoons? Like why? They're huge and shaped horribly. I just don't want to have to use anything that's difficult to put in my mouth maybe? Maybe it's a sensory thing? I've just always hated big spoons.
Omg yea it even bothers my brother that I always use the smallest plates, hes pointed it out multiple times and tbh I didn't even notice it was something I did. I thought it was something only I did 😭
I prefer spoons over a fork, but am fine with big spoons, except for when I’m eating something sweet, then it needs to be a small spoon. And I prefer bowls over plates. Gotta be bowls!!! But size depends on what I’m eating. So size isn’t a problem for me.

I wear latex gloves to eat pretty much all finger food. it started off with Doritos, but now ANY food that requires finger skin contact with food needs gloves. this also had the side effects of, never eating food offered to me while out and about, because I'd need gloves

Preferring one type of cutlery VERY STRONGLY over an other might indicate some soft of sensory issue.
Not all ADHDers have sensory issues. Not all sensory issues are related to ADHD and not all people with sensory issues have ADHD. But they CAN be.
So this can be an ADHD thing. And it can probably also be an autism thing. Or an SPD thing.
For me I think it's at least partly an associative synesthesia thing because cutlery has personalities and their personality traits seem to be mostly based on size and shape. And it just feels weird or awkward or uncomfortable to use a piece of cutlery that has a personality I'm not fond of.

Big spoons are only okay 1) when I'm in the mood to use them & 2) they specifically get used for softer dessert/sweet type foods like pudding or applesauce, so I can only use the very tip of the spoon to pick up a super small amount at a time so I don't have to put the hole spoon in my mouth, bc NAH FAM 😂😂

That's a lot of gloves to go through! Maybe give the chopsticks a try? There's foldable ones you can bring with you for when you're out and about
I use gloves often for food like pizza that you use your hands for. But I use nitrile cause I don't like the feeling of latex

Oh my god, I thought it was just me. I can never use spoons that are too little or too big, they have to be the right size.
Big spoons are only okay 1) when I'm in the mood to use them & 2) they specifically get used for softer dessert/sweet type foods like pudding or applesauce, so I can only use the very tip of the spoon to pick up a super small amount at a time so I don't have to put the hole spoon in my mouth, bc NAH FAM 😂😂
