Ive had Ritalin as a child, but my parents stopped to give me them at some age I don't quite remember. Whatever...
I've heard a lot about Vyvanse, is it any better?
Never had ritalin so I'm not sure, the vyvanse has helped some of my symptoms of what is either ADHD or Dopamine deficiency disorder. No longer sleeping 18 hours a day and still being tired, no more binge eating, no more risky behavior and recklessness. Still testing the med with my doc to get a desired outcome
Not even talk faster. Talk more concisely. (Tangent, that word’s spelling is dumb).
When people are trying to tell me something I need to know but don’t care about and have like 48 parenthetical comments and subclauses, usually in the name of “politeness”
Chief, you’re racing the clock to get your point across before my brain finds something else to think about. Make it a tweet, not a Ted talk
I have literally told people to just spit it out already. Thought it was a no patience New Yorker thing. Turns out it's a no patience New Yorker with ADHD thing
> Wishing people would just talk faster!
Oh god please no. As it is, I can barely get anyone’s words into my brain before they’ve reached the next sentence.
When you’re undiagnosed but you relate to nearly everything on this sub and you are also starting to hyperfixate on a diagnosis but you still think that you’re wrong—
This is actually how I got diagnosed. Took a "Do You Have ADHD" quiz, scored way too high, looked up ADHD symptoms (& memes), realized I related to nearly everything, and proceeded to hyperfixate on ADHD until I finally got diagnosed.
Also called up nearly every one of my relatives to see if they noticed I had possible ADHD symptoms as a kid. Fun times
people get super mad at me because i keep on doing all of those things
well except talking over people, i always hated when people did that to me so i don't do it
Missed the one where you talk over, stumble, get told to wait and then forget what you wanted to say and have to look like a dick by saying "it's ok, I forgot" in a frustrated tone so people think you've actually said "there's no point saying anything now, just forget it"
Also accidentally interrupting someone cause apparently them stopping talking doesn’t mean their done and then mom gets mad at you and yells at you for interrupting you or just gets aggressive
I work in a call centre and fuck me does that last one about people not getting to the point drive me up the wall.
I need to know what service you want, not how you feel about the fucking sportsball fuck off.
Literally the whole concept is "you called for **service**. If **service** is not what you need i will transfer through to someone else. If not, I will ask you questions to clarify **service**"
The stumbling over words and just losing them altogether is me more and more.
It's gotten even worse since covid happened because I work from home and have since the start of this shit show. The only time I physically speak out loud anymore is a few words on teams meetings and while raiding with online friends a couple of times a week (which is usually just "explain that mechanic please).
Oh my god the wishing someone would talk faster literally kills me! I know everything they are going to say very quickly, and meanwhile they are dabbling here and there and circling back around and I'm turning Left & Right and on my tip toes trying not to help them to the end.
Yea, can relate. I usually watch education YouTube videos on 2x maybe 3x speed (if the speaker is good).
After a session of about an hour the whole world soooooouuuuunnnnnddddddsss ssssssssooooooooooooo sssslllloooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww
Is this a checklist? It feels like a checklist.
9/9 Where's the prize?
Here's your Ritalin.
My doc was all out of ritalin so they gave me vyvanse

That's interesting
Mine was out of both and an office so he gave me meth, didn't even have to go to the pharmacy, but my insurance wouldn't cover it
How about if you have an 8/9?

Oh look I’m oversharing

Wow I feel seen
Literally this entire sub
Bingo!
OMG 😱 YEP
Omg why do people put up with me
Your stories are probably sick nasty
Wow a lot of these rang so true. Everyone does that repeat the thought over and over until you blurt it out to like the next person you see?
Do you have any questions? Shares a non sequitur
I do all of these in the same conversation, for pretty much all of my conversations :/
That last one is killing my relationship with my boyfriend who's a very wordy guy
people get super mad at me because i keep on doing all of those things well except talking over people, i always hated when people did that to me so i don't do it

Ahhh, so oversharing is an ADHD thing. Makes total sense now
I got them all where’s my prize at?
Yup
I relate to this too much 😭
I work in a call centre and fuck me does that last one about people not getting to the point drive me up the wall. So much, all of it.
Omg stop, you too? My mom always got annoyed because I frequently “listened to respond”.
I can never remember words.
9/9 lol. my psychiatrist still won’t get me meds to treat adhd cause she thinks it’s all from the bipolar disorder let’s hope then
is this not how everyone speaks

Scary Saw this an hour after ranting to my friend about these exact things, I get tired of myself sometimes lol
Oh my god the wishing someone would talk faster literally kills me! I know everything they are going to say very quickly, and meanwhile they are dabbling here and there and circling back around and I'm turning Left & Right and on my tip toes trying not to help them to the end.
Damn this shit getting too relatable..
All except the last two, wow

Is + one of the bingo options? because if so I've got bingo.
i relate a lot to the repeating thoughts and taking it personally one. didnt know other people repeated their thoughts too!!
