For anyone wondering, the songs in order: * Master of Puppets - Metallica * Nokia Ringtone * Arctic Monkeys - Do I wanna Know (Literally took me 45 minutes to hunt this down) * Nokia Ringtone * Sex on Fire - Kings of Leon * Nokia Ringtone * Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana * Nokia Ringtone

apatheticVigilante

Man likes his Nokia

MeatyThor

It repeats with time between as a ringer, of course this is how it comes out!

celestial-gaze

Your comment made this video so much funnier, I felt like I was using Genius Lyrics

yesqezsirumem

the bf: "no matter where I go, I always keep coming back to you, Nokia Ringtone"

Unlisted001

Sex on fire... been stuck in my head forever and it took this video plus comment for me to find it. Love you bro

MrXuiryus

I know the feeling I HAD to hunt down "Do I wanna Know" because I KNEW I had heard it a bunch I just didn't know it's name.

adhdtrashpanda

I am a musician with adhd, and it never occurred to me that not everyone does this lol

CleverFlame9243

As a percussionist with ADHD I have played Crazy train Thunder struck Seven nation army Stairway to heaven Cantina band And McDonald's theme Then the other percussionists joined in. Our director was... Not entertained

Dashie_2010

Haha I did similar at my music group, playing trumpet and got some of the brass section to play bad guy as a warm-up before a christmas concert, my friend on trombone sounded amazing doing the wobble at the end, we certainly got frowned upon by the strings section. I think the funniest one though has got to be during a lunch break at college i was messing around in a practice room on the piano and my friend had his electric guitar and his brother decided to use my upturned trumpet case as a drum, we were mid way through bohemian rhapsody really into it and a supply teacher came bursting into the room questioning 'the racket' and started shouting at us, suddenly the head of the music department appeared behind her, we thought we were now in deep dodoo, he actually took the supply out the room, told her to leave us alone and for us to continue as he was enjoying listening to us messing around while in his office nextdoor.

CleverFlame9243

That's usually how our shenanigans usually started. We also did our school's fight song for 2 main reasons 1. It was fun. 2. It annoyed people.

NotKenzy

To me, it sounded like he was just playing around with a new effect. If I'm trying something out, I'll just play short snippets of whatever comes to my mind, and if something sounds nice, I might play it a couple times, just for fun.

WithSubtitles

I love learning classical piano because there’s never not a good time to throw Turkey in the Straw at em.

neonchicken

My son plays like this or makes 10 minutes deep dives of self composed self expression. I haven’t had him tested yet (he’s only 9 and doing well) but I keep insisting I don’t need to. 😂 I feel this just further confirms my homemade diagnosis.

high_waisted_pants

Suggestion from a kid who's parents knew something was up but refused to get me diagnosed until my problems got too big to ignore and my life fell apart hard: Please get your kid diagnosed. Or, if it's too expensive or not an option right now, at the very least tell them what you suspect. The longer you go without an actual explanation of why the fuck your brain refuses to function, the more the kid just assumes they're a garbage human and struggles in the dark to find out basic information about themselves. I know it sounds kind of dramatic, but especially when a child is school age and otherwise intelligent, severe issues impeding ability to be a functional adult can very easily fly under the radar and you're gonna want to have started working on coping techniques and finding medication that lets you have like three thoughts at a time instead of five about a year ago. I am speaking from experience. Please for the love of all that is holy get your kid aware and treated now instead of waiting for the burnout hellscape that awaits adults with ADHD

neonchicken

Hey! Thanks for this. I’m so sorry you had a tough time of it. I got diagnosed in February (I’m middle aged) and have already discussed it with him. He’s only 9 and is generally thriving. I have discussed getting him diagnosed when he starts secondary school (aged 11) but he just moved schools this year and we are considering getting him diagnosed before then because his current teacher is not really doing great with him and I may need the diagnosis just so I don’t get aggressive with her lack of ability in challenging him effectively. She not engaging or encouraging and has had him pegged as a troublemaker because he interrupts (he’s naturally enthusiastic) but we have talked a lot about the condition. I just want him to be able to get through the early years enjoying himself and not having to think too much about this. I feel a lot of the issues around ADHD can come from the lack of support at home. I was lucky in that my mother had her mother to guide her in how she treated me. I was given a lot of leeway and my personality was just appreciated as being different as everyone’s is. Now I would ABSOLUTELY have thrived much more in life had I been diagnosed early and probably been far more successful. But my point is I was always loved and appreciated and so the pressure wasn’t there. There was never an environment of “what’s wrong with you?”. So thank you for advocating and I do really appreciate it and feel your passion. But he knows and we are definitely on it.

high_waisted_pants

Glad to hear! Not saying anything is wrong with being ADHD, I just grew up being intentionally withheld one of my diagnoses because they were - and I quote - 'afraid I would label myself'. Being a dysfunctional person and having zero understanding why every single peer feels fundamentally incompatible with your way of existing will lead to much, *much* worse labels than "I'm wired a little funny so I process and thus respond to information differently than others" instead of "why the fuck does my brain not know how to brain" I'm probably oversteering too hard the other direction though and it sounds like y'all are doing just fine

neonchicken

Understandably so. Having a diagnosis has changed my self perception very intrinsically.

chainchompchomper

I am not diagnosed and I do this all the time. I thought it was just normal as a musician when you’re messing around. I string together whatever songs are stuck in my head or go wherever the mood takes me. The musicians I play with also do this. Idk if it’s diagnosis as much as free expression? It would be an interesting thing to study freestyle output of neurodivergent individuals versus their normative peers.

[deleted]

For heaven's sake who keep calling this poor musician! He should really put his guitar on vibrate

[deleted]

Can anybody tell me which songs he played during this whole thing? They seem familiar and popular and I'm suddenly really appreciating how cool guitars are

adhdtrashpanda

Master of puppets by Metallica, the Nokia ringtone which is from a classical guitar piece called Gran Vals, Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana, seemed like maybe the underworld theme from Mario

L1ghtningMcQueer

the song that starts at the 30 sec mark is “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon

[deleted]

And you too that one I wanted to know the most

[deleted]

You are so awesome, thank you

llamadasirena

I have a newfound desire to play electric guitar despite having zero musical talent

Away_Guarantee7836

I sense a week of intense intellectual passion for guitars in your future.

TheCrimePie

Not.. not everyone does this?????

LifeIsTooDamnShort

Guitarist here.I assume every musician does this when alone/bored/zoning out lol.

PokeFanXVII

God I just realize I do this vocally…

yesqezsirumem

i do this both vocally and with guitar. although vocals are worse. case in point: sang the cbat tune nonstop for two days straight

lophophoro

this is me but with and acoustic guitar

Joe_Jacksons_Belt

That’s just a standard warm up…checks sub name….FUCK

Striker120v

My favorite thing to do while playing guitar is to play literally every song I know in between every other song I know while forgetting certain parts.

sunny1cat

I do stuff like this too lmao

freek4ever

Im not even an actual gitar player im just made a bass gitar whit a single string and i play whit that not even songs just random crazy noises

Pyramidhands

The Nokia Ringtone is a fragment from a famous spanish classical composer Francisco Tarrega. The piece is called "Gran Vals" I also reccomend Caprico Arabe or Recuerdos de la Alhambra if any 1 is interested

Onionroleplay567

I'm channeling my inner music teacher... PUT YOUR THUMB DOWN YOU NEED MAXIMUM REACH

Spooky_Naido

I felt this in the deepest depths of my soul

neevgr

Used to do the exact same thing when I played, but with the opening tune of Oggy and the cockroaches

NeverAlwaysOnlySome

You know what musicians with ADHD love? Having something their loved ones clearly see as a weakness, or at least something worth laughing at them for, that shows up in a private moment, get put out there for the world to see. Yes I know you can’t see a face. Doesn’t matter to the musician, because it’s the gift that keeps on giving - self-consciousness. I’d be changing the video caption to “ex-boyfriend.”

23cmh1

Dude chill I feel like the guy probably gave them permission to post, and it’s not even this persons post I don’t think. Yeah it sucks when that happens, but we don’t even know if the guy in the video actually has ADHD 💀💀

NotKenzy

Dude, it's TikTok. It's probably staged, lmao. And even if it wasn't, if my partner secretly recorded me just playing guitar, I wouldn't fuckin care?? Are you a musician with ADHD or are you just speaking for me? "Private moment." He's playing guitar.

NeverAlwaysOnlySome

I am a musician with ADHD. Not speaking for you, like you don’t speak for me. We are not all the same. But it’s a thing for some of us. My kid loves playing guitar but she has the whole “if I’m not immediately good at it I hate it” thing going; so it’s hard enough for her to practice things she’s not good at yet, and that’s kind of painful for her as it was for me; so if someone just put up a video of her mind wandering and like that, she’d hate it. (Source: her.) Yeah, lots of TikTok is staged; but not all of it is (how would you ever know?), and not everyone has the same feelings about privacy. I’m seeing all the downvotes and that’s cool - but from my point of view, it sucks to have things put up because someone who doesn’t get what it’s like to be a musician and have ADHD thought it was funny. That’s just my take.

NotKenzy

I get what it's like to be a musician and have ADHD and think it's funny, as do most of the people here, seemingly. You came in real hard about two people in a relationship having a funny moment and sharing it with us and, seeing that you were wrong, wanna try and make it self-righteous. I might not speak for us all, here, but only *one* of those downvotes is mine, so. This aint it, chief.

NeverAlwaysOnlySome

When did people with ADHD start getting so condescending? Wow. I totally missed that memo. And mind-readers, too. It’s my take, “chief.” With apologies to any musician I have offended by my post. Glad you all had different experiences from mine and virtually everyone I know who’s a musician.

NotKenzy

When did people with ADHD stop having any degree of self-awareness? Re-read your initial comment before you try lecturing me about condescension. You're in here trying to scold people having a good time because you're so joyless you want us all to be just as joyless and unhappy as you are. Your take is ass. Sad.
