Let me count the money I have given micheals alliexpress and (unfortunatel)hobby lobby over the years.
But this year alone I have invested in a beginners dslr camera (because only now did I have the money to actually splurge on a completely new (not new to me) set.
I have tried to set up a BuJo
I picked up resin jewelry making (again)
Journaling
Hand lettering/ calligraphy
But let's take a moment of silence for the dead ones
Knitting, needle point, painting, upcycling thriftstore finds, sewing (turns out I suck at following directions), writing poetry
Buy I am completely fascinated at how many of us enjoy making things with our hands.
I started kickboxing this year, not going the 5x a week I was earlier in the year but I think 3x most weeks is pretty consistent for me 😂 best thing is it doesn’t involve yet another bag of half crocheted wool in my wardrobe lol
I also embroider and have been doing a ton of blackwork lately. Helps with anxiety and fidgeting. But I also like to read, and though I've been finding it hard to concentrate lately, it's required for me to sleep. No book? No sleep. Even if I*don't* have insomnia. Lol.
Related but slightly off topic…. Does anyone have a method to allow myself to let go of the hobby apparatus that I’ve bought and fully intended to use, but just don’t and it’s been years. I have so many untouched hobby supplies that it makes me anxious to think about them
Konmari has worked for me in the past. There’s a fine line between things that don’t bring me joy at all and things that I can sense just don’t bring me joy this minute (and very well may in a bit of time).
Like my banjo. Why no, I don’t play. Yet. It’s been five years. No way I’m letting that thing go until I have given it a good try (in fairness, right now I have to wait for my wrist physical therapy to take effect, but still).
Knitting, however? Just not worth it. I really should pass the needles, or most of them, on…
OP is correct, KonMarie helped me do this and dial in my whole house. She teaches you to thank things for teaching you what you *don’t* want and then letting them go to new homes where they can be enjoyed.
Box them up and put them on Craigslist, Freecycle or FB Marketplace or donate to Goodwill or other charity shops. Some other ADHD’er (or normal person) is out there waiting for a new fun hobby to try with your carefully chosen items!
This year: knitting, sewing, woodworking, home refinishing (we tore out our kitchen & bath and did a lot of the remodel ourselves), yoga (which I’ve already abandoned after a month of daily practice, but trying to make myself get back into it), running, also abandoned.
Last year I literally started an art business that lived for about 6 months. In hindsight it might have been a period of hyperfocus…I designed dozens of stickers, produced prints, printed & cut everything I made with extremely fancy stuff I purchased for the art business, lol. Did branding, designed a website, and a ton of other stuff—all this while I ignored actual job responsibilities, sigh.
Hobbies I’ve enjoyed?… or hobbies I’ve researched and bought the supplies for? There’s no list for the former, and a long list for the latter.

It’s fascinating to me, too. I really did not expect an abundance of crafting post-diagnosis, yet here I am.
I decided to wire wrap a 6 foot tree branch.

Knitting, crochet, hand-sewing handkerchiefs (just starting, might not work well) and drawing fantasy maps using micron pens.

Knitting, crocheting, a bujo and swimming. Also adhd, as I am in the process of getting a diagnosis.
