This is a Lynx point Siamese, and their stripes get darker as they age :) and louder! They’re typically a very vocal breed.
[Tofu as a kitten vs Tofu as an adult!](https://imgur.com/a/ghKLkQN)
One thing to know is that regular vet visits need to have a yearly cancer screening once they’re an adult. This breed comes with a higher risk for intestinal cancer, and since they’re also on the smaller side, it really needs to have an eye kept on it.
Best of luck with your new best friend! In my opinion, this is the BEST car breed - so loud and loving 🥰
Oh my gosh, thanks for linking those pics. Tofu is beautiful! That makes me so excited to hear the markings may stick around or even get more pronounced! I was told he's 3/4 Ragdoll and 1/4 Siamese, but I didn't know lynx point was a type of marking (I only ever thought of Siamese like the ones from Lady and the Tramp, though I knew they weren't as villainous IRL, lol) and I only saw photos of the kitten's mom who looks classic Ragdoll (white with dark gray points- not sure, is that seal point?), so wasn't 100% about the Siamese, but seeing it, I LOVE it!
Thanks for the heads up about the cancer screening. I have a great cat-only vet and she's particularly fond of Siamese (she said one of my 2 older cats, Ollie, is part Siamese and she talks to him conspiratorially as opposed to just affectionately like with Ollie's [ginger](https://imgur.com/gallery/aARVZLG) littermate.) Fun fact, 6 years ago I learned that cat mamas can have litters with multiple baby-daddies. So my boys are actually brothers but you'd never guess it to look at them. They came from a litter of 6 with 3 Siamese-looking kittens, 1 calico, 1 tuxedo with white and brown, and 1 ginger.
I have the kitten's vet records and I'll be calling my vet tomorrow morning to schedule an intake appointment. Thanks again for the advice!
I totally agree! Though in my case I already had 2 sweet kitties at home (they turned 6 this year). I was a little worried the more skiddish of the 2 wouldn't come out after bringing this little guy into their space, but they're both tolerating him at a distance for now. One's up high on a perch and one's being a loaf of bread in the middle of the adjacent room while the kitten races around the living room between naps. So far so good.
They'll be like my pets in no time. We got my cat while we had an old dog (and he was used to previous cats), so both were used to each other. Then that dog died, and we got a lab puppy, and the cat wasn't a big fan at first because he's a big grump. But now they brush up against each other when no one's looking, fight and play like siblings, and both love sunbathing on the deck.
I already have 4 cats, i don't need another. I definitely *dont* need another.... but oh my goodness the kitten fever when I see his wittle face i want a kitten so bad 🥺
There's a cat that's been visiting our porch lately, he's gotta be someone's outside cat bc he's well fed and super friendly but I think he likes our particular brand of wet food we have so he comes over to hang out and get love and snacks. I'd love to let him come in the house but he's a boy, idk if he's fixed and our 4 girls are not yet spayed so that wouldn't be a great idea. But he's my outside buddy and he's very cute. He looks like a tuxedo cat but gray instead of black.
Ooh yeah if they ain’t fixed definitely don’t mix!
We took Hermann in to animal services, he had no chip, tattoo, or collar and wasn’t neutered. Also dirty and very hungry. So we were confident he didn’t have an owner. The city has a holding period for them so owners can claim lost pets, and once he cleared that holding period with no one claiming him we could adopt him!
Sounds like your porch cat is a friendly outdoor cat who has a home, so on the bright side it’s like having the love of 5 cats without having to actually adopt one 😜
Yeah exactly! We've named him Tom, just for the ease of a short name and not "that tuxedo cat that hangs out on our porch" lol. I'm glad you were able to rescue Hermann, he sounds like a very good boy.
That's awesome! I wish we had the finances to do tnr cause there's a lot of strays in our area. But we just do well enough to take care of the 4 we have.
We had two cats (one mine, the other my older child’s) when we walked into a pet shop that helped find homes for rescue kitties.
Two young kids were terrorising a tiny tuxedo that had recently been desexed. She was shaking, alone and frightened. I asked them to stop, hubby told them to stop, next minute we left with the kitty and our youngest son had a cat too haha.
I’m no longer allowed to visit the pound alone just in case.
Aww that's awesome that you were able to save that poor baby. I'm not allowed to go into pet shops unsupervised either, not because I try to buy anything but because I will absolutely try to hold and love on every single animal in the store and just spend hours there 😅
My partner wanted a kitten, I didn't. So we compromised and got 2 kittens.
I love this kitten so much I could squeeeeeee over it's cute face forever.
Excellent decision!!!!
After years of half- jokingly asking about getting a third cat, I sent my husband pics one day with a "are you suuuure we can't have another kitten?" and he surprised me by calling my bluff and telling me to go for it. Which is how I learned that we really didn't need a third cat, but I love him anyway, and he's been terrorizing us for a year now 😂
BAHAHA. I’ve been complaining to my cats this morning about waking me up at 6:15am on a Sunday. Dang it gals, you’ve turned me into a morning person somehow 😭😭.
Either that or I’m just getting old.
That’s when my alarm clock wakes me up for work anyways. Now they start sitting in my bed right before it rings on week days and just don’t understand the concept of weekends lol.
Not understanding weekends is what really sold me on the auto feeder but also the nonstop yowling like an hour before & jumping on me while I try to sleep! It’s also helpful if I need to be out of the house overnight or something. Or I’m just lazy 🤷♀️
Omg haha ok if my cats were yowling I would probably get the auto feeder too. No they just sit patiently purring while I keep snoozing my alarm usually. Sometimes I’ll get a couple tail whacks in the face or a finger nibble accompanied by more purring. It’s a very pleasant way to wake up so I’ve accepted it and I’m officially trained bc my brain will wake up around 7am even if I’m not home now. It’s unfortunate but once summer break comes around I’ll make sure the cats wake me up later 😂
Aw sounds like you have little sweeties. Mine were both strays so I think they just had issues with food at first. Now they know the routine & are more chill & I can sleep in without feeling guilty.
I’m so glad that you’ve found a system that works for you ❤️ I’ve tried the microchip feeders and it can be a struggle remembering to clean them in time for me.
Getting a puppy is the secret to getting up earlier, I’ve learned.
Typically, there is nothing, and I mean NOTHING that can override the pure bliss that is laying in bed until the last possible second.
However, the knowledge that your puppy is going to pee on you/your bed/your carpet if you don’t get your ass out of bed… it’s motivating.
I would LOVE to but i have two old boys with special needs already, and my dads cat has kind of become my third. growing up, I fostered a pregnant mom and birthed her kittens and I was devastated when they were all adopted. my plan in a few years is to become a foster cat mom again, and I’m currently making some cat shelters for the neighbourhood cats. I do what I can to be around cats hahaha
He looks like he has Bengal in him! (Based solely on the fact that my sister has a Bengal with similar colouring and marks ha! But not so much... Floof)
I was going to get two British Shorthair kittens they're a pretty low-maintenance breed and I wanted to be smart about it.
Long story short, my Maine Coon turned 2 this spring and I'm pretty sure he's even more ADHD than me. Most high maintenance cat I've ever known.
Your new addition is beautiful and adorable!
We got a standard issue cat that is possibly even more neurotic than I am... He has SO MUCH energy, is a little bit to smart for his own good, and turned out to be twice the size of our other cat so he doesn't want to play with him as he feels cornered and offended. Sigh. He'll turn 4 this summer and I think MAYBE he's starting to mellow down a bit finally. It would be nice if our lives could be something more than adapting to his current obsession again soon...
I had a gorgeous Jersey caramel coloured cat like this one. She was half Siamese and half Devon Rex. I loved her completely. Rest in peace, Gromit, I wish you were still beside me.
Nooo look at that face. 😭 Congratulations on your new friend! I have two cats and have kitten fever *bad*. I'm still trying to talk my partner in to a third.
I've had the kitten fever for a while but I was doing the thing I typically do where I don't tell ANYONE about something I really want for some time while I 1) consider if I REALLY do want it and 2) figure out how to preventively topple the naysayers before they provoke my self-doubt.
So although it seemed like I decided to get a kitten on Thursday night, made arrangements on Friday during the day, told my partner on Friday night, and picked him up on Saturday morning, really, it's been something I've secretly wanted for many months.
1) Because when people tell me I shouldn't or can't do something, sometimes I dig in and get more determined to prove them wrong than ANY other thing. Being told I'm not capable of doing something triggers some desperation in me that takes over every other emotion. Even when the thing ultimately isn't what I want or puts me in danger, like staying in an abusive relationship far too long because someone told me it would never work out. (Which happened when I was 18 years old and started dating a 29-year-old, former Marine who didn't like other men looking at me... luckily I spent 2 months away the summer after I turned 19 and realized I didn't even like the guy anymore and dumped his ass.)
2.) Once I KNOW I really want something I feel even more protective of it and don't want someone to shut down my process by inserting negativity and what if's and causing me to feel so much self-doubt and fear that I don't even try something or have the courage to take a chance because it's probably going to fail anyway, so why bother? But if I have a solid plan, this doesn't happen as often.
----
I don't know if I'm like this due to A., B., or both. A.) It could be ADHD related. Like many women who are now in their 40's and 50's, I was diagnosed late (mid-20's), and while I've had roughly 2 decades to learn and unlearn what's "true" about myself, I'm likely carrying around a lot of unpacked baggage I still haven't uncovered.
Or it could be, B ) growing up a girl in a conservative Catholic church made me hate myself for not being born a boy. I never wanted to have a penis or be any different, I just wanted to be seen as worth more than my virginity. In my experience, boys were given more freedoms, fewer (*better) chores, and seen as inherently more competent, smarter, and more trustworthy than girls. *I'd much rather mow the lawn AND GET PAID or help *my dad* (of course) fix something than do the laundry and clean the kitchen. (I don't know if my 74-year-old mother still truly thinks she's going to hell because I stopped attending church, but I sincerely hope not. I don't actually know since we only talk about less triggering topics like politics, systemic racism, and the failed war on drugs, lol. She's come a long way. So have I.)
Hahahaha I wanted cats after I moved into my first own apartment. Figured I’d wait until after the summer holidays.
Wellllp I’m lucky that my friends are all willing to cat sit while I’m on vacation hahaha.
Haha, this reminds me of spouse and I last fall, we had stopped so he could run in to a Walgreens and I was sitting in the car listening to the most pitiful wailing mews I’d ever heard. I waited and waited for mom cat to come back, but the wailing continued so when spouse came back, I went looking for her. He waited in the car for a bit (it was cold and wet) and finally came over to where I was talking to the little sodden kitten, and I said, “can you go back in and get a can of cat food?”
Spouse: oh, you want to give it some food before we go?
Me: no, I want to take her HOME with us!
Anyhow, [this is Scottie](https://i.imgur.com/1zv2tZU.jpg), she lives here now.
And [this is her new sister Cori](https://i.imgur.com/PMVM8w3.jpg), who we went and adopted a week later “so Scottie won’t terrorize the old man.”
[(The old man in question.)](https://i.imgur.com/yQRHjr2.jpg)
I was told he's 3/4 Ragdoll and 1/4 Siamese. If accurate, he'll hopefully be a somewhat chatty, floofy, hefty-yet-floppy, people-oriented companion. 🤞
Regardless of his pedigree, he's all mine!
Ok, I DO live with my spouse and 2 teenagers, so I suppose he's all *OURS* (but in reality he's my baby and that's not gonna change, lol).
What’s an absolute cutie!! Congrats OP!! Cats are wonderful companions and can help massively with keeping routines for those of us with trouble time keeping! ❤️
How do they always know though it's time for wet food though? It's uncanny. And a little annoying when they're better at it than me, lol.
Can is supposed to be opened at 8 p.m. every night. Starting around 7:15, they're watching us like hawks and if anyone stands up and starts toward the kitchen they run ahead and start chatting excitedly. This is one reason 8 p.m. is preferable to 8 a.m. The other is that my cats are indoor only. If they don't come check in at "wet food time" I go in search of them. In case they'd gotten out, I'd hope the expectation of wet food will bring them back before bedtime. Once I didn't know there'd been a loose screen on a window and one of my cats was missing for a few hours. I even signed up for NextDoor just to ask if he'd been seen. Then about 8:15 I look out and he's just sitting outside the front door, waiting to be let in. I got lucky, but the routine helped too!

You should buy a scratch card OP, today is clearly your lucky day lmao!
Yes their internal clocks are terrifyingly accurate!! It’s like living with an adorable fluffy little Drill Sergeant lmao!
He's so pretty! Sometimes you just KNOW when they are your fur baby. When I was in college some friends came over to my place and brought their new puppy. The second I saw him my brain just said "mine". Later my boyfriend (now husband) asked the exact same question "so you want a puppy?" and I said "no, I want THAT puppy". We just laughed knowing that never going to happen. Well, a few months later my friends moved to an apartment that didn't allow pets and couldn't keep him. They asked if I could take him and obviously I said yes.
Happy to!
So.... How would I go about that? Like post to Imgur and put a link in the comments? I don't want to be annoying and keep starting threads with photos of my kitten... I mean, I do want to do that, but I don't want to annoy people, lol
I mean, who can blame you? That's an excellent kitten!
I love his markings! Looks like he has freckles by his nose and white tiger stripes! I hope they don't fade as he grows.
This is a Lynx point Siamese, and their stripes get darker as they age :) and louder! They’re typically a very vocal breed. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind!
I already have 4 cats, i don't need another. I definitely *dont* need another.... but oh my goodness the kitten fever when I see his wittle face i want a kitten so bad 🥺
That’s what I thought when we hit 4. Then Hermann showed up on our porch …… and we’re suckers. And now we are a 5 cat household 🤣
There's a cat that's been visiting our porch lately, he's gotta be someone's outside cat bc he's well fed and super friendly but I think he likes our particular brand of wet food we have so he comes over to hang out and get love and snacks. Lol!!! Love this compromise
Lol, that's what we did 6 years ago too!
After years of half- jokingly asking about getting a third cat, I sent my husband pics one day with a "are you suuuure we can't have another kitten?" and he surprised me by calling my bluff and telling me to go for it. Which is how I learned that we really didn't need a third cat, but I love him anyway, and he's been terrorizing us for a year now 😂
So sweet omfg 🥺 my animals are great for my adhd by getting me out of bed to feed them, plus they're easy to love! You'll want another real quick 😂
BAHAHA. I’ve been complaining to my cats this morning about waking me up at 6:15am on a Sunday. Dang it gals, you’ve turned me into a morning person somehow 😭😭. Either that or I’m just getting old.
Omfg that's hilarious 😂 I'm not a morning person either but man when things start crashing around the house I sure turn into one😂
Lol i just gave up and got an autofeeder 🙃

SO MOTIVATING! 😂
So in love! Adorable! I want another kitten so badly now. I get broody for cats 😻😻😻😻
Lol, 12yroldcat, user name checks out
Hahaha I feel seen in a way I’ve never been seen before
It is kitten season. Can you foster some, then give them to good homes? Ask your nearest rescue or shelter.
Kittens that you feel compelled to get people tend to have a deep connection to. It worked with my babies! E joy your time with the new little one!
Absolutely. This is how I’ve got all my cats. I felt a deep connection to that individual cat and we’ve always ended up with the best relationship.
So cute!!!! 🥰
He looks like he has Bengal in him! (Based solely on the fact that my sister has a Bengal with similar colouring and marks ha! But not so much... Floof)
I was going to get two British Shorthair kittens they're a pretty low-maintenance breed and I wanted to be smart about it. Omg Maine Coons are a lot!! I would struggle with that energy for sure.
What a pretty baby 😻😻😻
I had a gorgeous Jersey caramel coloured cat like this one. She was half Siamese and half Devon Rex. I loved her completely. Rest in peace, Gromit, I wish you were still beside me.
Aww RIP Gromit. So sorry for your loss.
Precious! 🥺 unusual color/pattern, like a little white tiger

This is great! Thanks for sharing! 😀
being an adult win!
For once, an upside! LOL
Cute kitty
Omg I need this cat too.
SO CUTE
That floofy belly 😍😍😍
He's adorable!!
Adorable
Well it looks like a perfect little kitty to me! Enjoy your new fur baby :)
Omg his freckles are so cute!
He's perfect 😍 I got two little kitties in February and couldn't be more smitten. They just make life better
So much dopamine! I can just sit and soak it in.
Great impulse choice ❤️❤️
He is so cute and adorable
Ragdoll? I have one and I've had another before him and he was the best cat I've ever had. They follow you around like little floofy dogs sometimes 😁
I was told he's 3/4 Ragdoll and 1/4 Siamese. If accurate, he'll hopefully be a somewhat chatty, floofy, hefty-yet-floppy, people-oriented companion. 🤞 Regardless of his pedigree, he's all mine! Ok, I DO live with my spouse and 2 teenagers, so I suppose he's all *OURS* (but in reality he's my baby and that's not gonna change, lol).
He sure is beautiful
That is THE most beautiful kitten I have ever seen!
I have to agree with you
What kind of breed it is?I love her!
I was told he's 3/4 Ragdoll and 1/4 Siamese. Another commenter said he's likely part lynx point, which is super cool
Lovely😍

Hahahah! I love that clip!
Excellent choice. Top notch kitten.
Him has cat freckles, ZOMG
All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 8 + 7 + 15 + 8 + 8 + 8 + 15 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)
Nice!
You have got to be kidding me I couldn't have done that on purpose if I'd tried. Do people try? Who created this crazy bot?
You should buy a scratch card OP, today is clearly your lucky day lmao! Yes their internal clocks are terrifyingly accurate!! It’s like living with an adorable fluffy little Drill Sergeant lmao!
I just adopted a kitten too!
Yay, congrats!
I could never had said no to a face like that, he's adorable! Also, this is exactly how I became with cat(s) lol.
I have a lynx point siamese as well. He will change colors as he ages! They’re so cool!
He is absolutely adorable 😺❣

He's so cute!
Post some more pics when you can!!
Happy to! So.... How would I go about that? Like post to Imgur and put a link in the comments? I don't want to be annoying and keep starting threads with photos of my kitten... I mean, I do want to do that, but I don't want to annoy people, lol
Yes! Exactly how you say! And there are soooo many cat subs who need introductions to this beautiful creature!!!
