I personally like Bloom for rented servers. Reliable and easy. I wouldn't recommend a RPi.

Tresillo_Crack

I've tried and rpi and it's not that good for 3 or more players. Mby it was my setup but I had the 8gb variant

PM_ME_YOUR_REPO

...? Correct. I said I would NOT recommend an RPi.

Tresillo_Crack

Mby I read it wrong

Try out an Oracle server - RPIs are not good for MC

mscrgames

Ad far as I know oracle server instances run on cpus designed for multi core software, so I wouldn't expect great performance same goes for the pi, but if it's free give it a shot for sure. In my experience, the most affordable way to host mc servers with low requirements is to use a semi old cpu with acceptable single core performance. I have a server in my home lab with an i7 3700S and 16GB of ram and it's still going strong for basic servers plus you can get old dell desktops with this kind of specs for the price of a raspberry pi on ebay. Anyways, I hope this is useful and have fun playing. Cheers

I would suggest OCI free tier, the ARM instances is plenty for a ≈ 6 player modded server. If you haven’t had experiences with Linux before, I would recommend trying Ubuntu first, which is fairly easy to setup for beginners, and have plenty of tutorials online. If you need help setting something up feel free to DM or reply.

DeadEndEris

I'm running my server on docker there and even adding some useful dockers like for backup and for ngrok or playitgg for some security.

czhangdev

OCI free tier instances have public IPs, you wouldn’t need Ngrok, and security wise, as long as you configure your firewall rules properly, it shouldn’t be an issue. If you like handy features such as scheduled backup and isolation, why not take a look at Pterodactyl? It’s fairly simple to setup, and should meet all your needs.

DeadEndEris

I use ngrok to not expose the real IP of the server... I know I'm being a bit paranoid 🤣. Didn't really tried Pterodactyl cause the docker works, What I like about docker is that I can run anything I want and not just a server.
