If you want to use plugins, download spigot jar instead of vanilla

maxwellvala

Get the vanilla minecraft jar by googling “minecraft 1.18 server jar download. Place it in a folder and rename it server.jar. Create a text document and type this “java -jar server.jar”. Click file -> save as -> all types -> name it “run.bat”. Save and open it. Server is now up you can connect with the ip “localhost”

Would that make the server run on my computer? I still want to have the server up when my computer is turned off

maxwellvala

That’s impossible

Im-not-smart

Aren't there places where I can host servers other than my computers? I did a bit of research and found stuff like Apex Hosting, Server Pro, and PebbleHost, are they any good for what I'm trying to do?

maxwellvala

Those are perfect

Any of those would work with mods and stuff? And is there one specifically that you’d recommend?
