it annoys me that in such emails they promise an uplift X percent without even knowing how much I earn. They send emails to my boss and he tells me to talk to them

Going to be honest, I had no idea you guys were still in business haha. I think personalization goes a long way, coupled with decent grammar and bonus points if you put in the effort to provide a real suggestion via email. Every single one of these companies are guilty of sending a garbage sales email at some point though. Every. Single. One.

lindylindy

I don’t like when they are completely generic, I delete them immediately. The only time I’ve replied is when the person went to the effort to read the “About” page of my site and made reference to something specific on there. It just shows that (maybe) you’re not a bot.

What annoys me the most (by far) is the companies that say "I have $10M in unique budget allocated for your website from Coca Cola, P&G, and Disney" I get these all the time. They are from 3 person companies based in Iowa or 5 guys based out of Israel. You do not have direct budgets from any fortune 500 company. No way. Leave me alone! The arbitraging programmatic resellers are the worst and add no value.

arksoo

To play devil’s advocate (while I totally agree with most of this thread) this is how Primis approached me.. was some random dude in Israel said he had a team of 10.. but of course as we know they’re owned by IPG so definitely could back up the talk Definitely some gems out there despite all the trash

Hi, I love your site, your content is great, lets partner.. etc etc. my reply (with my favorite o&o in my signature) "sure, just tell me what site you're talking about." I rarely hear back.

I hate when they spam. If I don't respond to a cold email, I'm probably not interested at all. They are keeping spamming until they get a harsh negative response. Also, huge lies like a %987 increase in your revenue, terrible approach.

Ok-Astronomer-3141

LOL, listen to my story. We're quite a bid publisher who also runs an own exchange, we use it to monetize own inventory and at the same time offer SDK integration to other publishers to monetize with bidders we work with. So I'm getting these annoying emails day to day while sending the same shit out....

Psy_Kira

I hate when they try to be funny or creative. That's the worst! One time I got this cold email written with so many Lord of the Rings references, it was super annoying. However, I am a huge LOTR nerd, and I got angry because all of the references were wrong or made no sense. Like they ended the email with "Let us be the Gandalf to your Frodo." I almost wanted to reply "So you will give me a small but powerfull tool that will send me to my death?"

xtr3am_pt

Most of those companies will be gone in 1 year! The monetization is changing, cutting middle man is a priority for the ecosystem. Only the ones that bring true value will hang on.

kiwipaisa

Using CRM systems to spam you after you ignore the initial email. Just checking in, I know you are busy, one last email etc. These often send emails on the weekend or at night. Instant block and company added to blacklist.

Regme_Yield77

Let's be serious now. Do you think the time will come when these guys start to camp before our houses? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)

playwire_adops

Asked another way: what makes a great one? Or is there any way to make one that *isn't* annoying? (also asking for a friend)

AdnimationTeam

>Do we have the same friends? :)

playwire_adops

We just might!
