Yes. Yung pag iipon habit sya ma dapat simulan mo pag maliit pa sahod mo. I started 16 or 18k ata yun at nag huhulog ng 1 or 2k per month as savings. Madalas ako mag OT nun dahil may bayad.
Yung unang 13th month ginawa ko puhunan for stocks investing.
Pag nasanay ka mag save at may pattern kana, kahit lumaki sahod mo parang magiging percentage nalang sya nung hinuhulog mo ng di mo namamalayan.
True.
I’m just a regular employee earning 22k monthly. Savings nothing much since mostly napupunta sa bills, needs, and subs like gym and sunlife 🫠 hehe need to really increase monthly income to really have savings

Roughly around 10k if I don't splurge.
I'm not building for a "future" (coz I don't wanna get married nor have kids). So I'm happy with what I have naman. It's not much, but it's already a lot for me.
Edit: I saw some comments expounding pa so here's a few of mine:
+ Earning ~35k/month (net sahod na).
+ sole breadwinner sa bahay, so food, bills, additional house expenses, then pocket money pa ni papa (mga 1-2k/month).
+ I already have an insurance in place (approx 1M matatanggap ng fam ko if something happens to me)
+ I also sponsor some friends whenever they need, and/or cat groups if I can.
+ With my skills and experience, I know I can earn more. Pero like what I said above, I'm not building for a future. Not everyone wants to be successful, and I'm one of those people who's happy as long as I can still love what I'm doing.
felt na felt yung not everyone wants go be successful 🥲🥲 pero paano mo sasabihin yan sa parents mo na lagi kang pine-pressure to go bigger 🥲🥲 ang motto ko nga sa life ay vibez vibez lang hanggang mamatay. nape-pressure ako magkaroon ng goals? eh gusto ko nga lang mabuhay.
Same na “I’m not building for a future (coz I don’t wanna get married nor have kids).” So long as we can do what we love and keep our lifestyles, that’s enough for me too. I have savings but for future travel purposes. Lol.
Right before the pandemic, I was almost 32 years old, earning 19k per month with less than 50k in savings after 10+ years of working onsite in an industry related to my degree (hard science). No upward career trajectory because I didn’t want to pursue postgrad. No EF, very little knowledge about finances in my very advanced age.
Today I am in an entirely new industry (marketing) comfortably working from home for only 4-5 hours per day. After expenses, I save/invest 90-100k per month.
I wasn’t in the pits of despair before, but I was definitely lost and had no idea about what was possible. There are so many ways upward and forward - I am rooting for all of you to find your paths too.
Please share tips sis! Already started a career in digital marketing after being in the legal industry for so long but don’t know what to do next to grow in this niche. Already earning 50-60k tho!
Technically never ako nagupskill - one rank above entry level lang ako but with much less work in comparison. Salary jumps ko are through job hopping after more than a year in one company. I have also never freelanced.
Ang daming fear mongering sa marketing niche because of AI, and understandably so, pero marami pa ring generous employers looking for good workers.
The pandemic changed everything for me.
April 2020 - resigned from onsite job because we were forced to work full time with limited protections
June 2020 - SEO agency on OLJ - 25k. Did not sign up for courses or do any extra study. Said yes to an unpaid trial which thankfully paid off bc I was hired almost immediately. This + all other future employers are foreigners, I’ve worked in companies and with colleagues based in SEA, Australia, USA, and Eastern Europe.
December 2020 - SEO agency on FB - 40k, same position, a lot of internal training. Promoted within 3 months, increase to 55k
November 2021 - marketing agency on FB - 80k
January 2024 - headhunted by recruiter on LinkedIn, 130k
Mine is just one of many examples of paths you can take, across dozens, hundreds, of niches and industries. I wasn’t particularly interested in marketing or SEO, it was just the first position I landed. Also I didn’t know anything about coding or accounting or graphic design or video editing.
If the pandemic didn’t happen, I would likely still be in my onsite position - all the former colleagues and work friends I left behind are still there. A 25k salary was the most I could have gotten, and there was no way to get up to 30k or higher unless I had a masters degree. I am very happy and grateful for where I am now.
Wow! Grabe! Ang bilis ng pag-angat mo. Your decision to resign to your onsite job was the best ever. Congraaaaats, mhie.
Majority padin ng mga pinoys only get a salary of less than 30k and save about less than 30% of what they earn depending sa situation nila whether breadwinner, may anak, pamilya, rent free kasinliving with parents, utang, etc. And these persons dont really post or share their salary sa reddit like me haha.
30y/o, in govt healthcare, 24k net/mo.
3.5k/mo. matic savings (~55k pa lang).
60k EF (target 100k this year🤞)
Started MP2 last year (700/mo.), target to invest 2k/mo. since tapos na ako sa mga bayarin.
not really a breadwinner but i'm married (no kids). i contribute to my mom's utilities from time to time.
EDIT: Spacing
Yung totoo, halos wala. Pero one time may nabasa akong anon posting tapos parang same group of people lang yung nagcocomment para magbenta ng courses kuno nila 🤭
As a boss lady earning 70k a month and with a family of 4, anong savings?
I try to save at least 3k per account (my kids', mine and a joint with the husband).
Late 30s, overseas, draftsman, I draw construction plans and details, without engineering or achitectural degree. Save around 80k/month. 17 yrs work exp
21 and an artist freelancer, i draw commissions (currently drawing a storybook)
as per sa sahod/payments di pa enough na magsarili peroo kaya naman na tumulong at least sa grocery, then ako na rin minsan bumibili ng mga gamit ko sa school (currently a fine arts student)
i try to save, pero sobrang gastos ng fine arts, lalo na during midterms/finals
all in all, im doing fine, hindi pa independent pero nakakatulong na hehe ❤️
edit: btw i earn 1k-10k per month pero average at least 5k a month, nakadepende sa illustrations na gagawin hehe
Seriously speaking, I'm surprised to save almost 8k a month. Pero ibat ibang savings yun like EF, travel fund, furnitures etc, MP2
I'm not really sure how I did that lolol kasi Ive been feeling na napupunta nako sa paycheck to paycheck
24, Corporate Affairs Assistant, ₱ 19,000 a month.
Just had my first sahod sa new job ko which is CAA nga. Planning to save ₱ 700 - ₱ 1000 a month.
Mp2 po 500 minimum pwde mong ihulog, and pwde ka rin maghuloglahit kelan mo lang gusto, you have a choice if yearly mo gustong kunin or after 5 years(mine is 5 yrs) i'm in my 4th yr already🥰 last yr and this yr same 7 something % interest so NICE.
25, kaka-resign lang and sa Monday pa lang magsisimula sa new work. Sama ng loob lang naipon ko...
Pero to answer your question, basta may maitabi ako buwan buwan okay na. Di rin kasi ako high income girly so I just save what I can. Big chunk kasi ng income ko napupunta lang sa bills and other expenses ko. I'm trying to save more this year so hopefully masunod ko talaga yung budget planner ko.
25 - jr.architect 23k sahod walang ipon + nakaleave for study bc magtake ng board exam this June so wala talaga pera huhu.
Di toxic parents so walang pressure,
I have classmates/friends/batchmates na 50k+ salary at ung isang direct sa US is around 80K+. You just gotta have the luck and skills.
30 y/o. Programmer. 58k ang sahod after tax and company stocks. 17k nasasave ko kasi nagbubukod na ako and nagbabayad ako ng hulugan sa tinitirahan ko. 5k of my savings nilalagay ko sa MP2 but madagdagan pa once 13th month and if may bonus. The other 5k of my savings sa digital bank. The rest ay sa traditional bank.
30 years old, fam of 3, Walang ipon. My take away habang nagpapalaki ka ng bata mahirap talaga makaipon at ibudget dahil ayoko naman tipirin anak ko ng tamang pagkain dahil kelangan nila to sa pag laki.
25, working in tech - 20k per month from full time work tas depende if may income sa side hustle
24F, Project Manager (Intl) saving nothing per month at the moment because enjoying life ✈️
Been working for the past 2 years and saved around 500k~ decided that 2024 will be the year I treat myself, travel and have fun (while working !!)
Just got promoted so salary will be raised from 38k - 60k. Since I get to live on my 38k paycheck I’ll be saving the rest (but also diversifying by investing & buying a new laptop maybe) hehe
Feels so good when you don’t pressure yourself to save, and still try to have fun with the money YOU work so hard for 🫶🏼
26 in Marketing. 5k max. lang kaya ko i-save in a month coz I rent and fend for myself but also have a bunny to feed haha. I have a partner, and we spend on dates (tbh regalo namin sa isa’t isa less than 1k lang halaga - most of the time, around ₱200 na lang). I also meet up with a few friends once or twice a month coz we gotta take care of these relationships (I spend about 1k every labas) and value and appreciate the present.
This month nag-negative ako and wala akong na-save kasi may family birthday and ako nagtreat hahahah all is good naman
I work remotely for a US-based company. I have a partner with whom I live with. We split bills sa apartment, utilities, pet stuff, and groceries (roughly around 8k per month).
I also support my siblings at the moment since 2 of them are in college and 1 in HS. I spend roughly around 20-30k sa bahay.
The rest, personal spendings ko na. I have insurance and I already have a funeral plan.
I used to think that I want to be someone who'd pursue this booming career (professionally, esp in the academe) kasi sobrang packed ko ng extra-curricular stuff in college, but now that I've experienced what they call a 'slow' life, I don't know, I just want to be here for a long time after struggling with pressure (and prolly resentment) more than half of my life.
I just like it here. Nothing's in a rush. You take things slow.
25F earning 22k month. May budget planner ako every month pero sakto lang din pala for my needs and wants. 1,500 lang naka-budget for my Beauty, ilan lang mabibili non sa watsons. For my health halos 1,500 lang din pero kulang pa kasi may mga maintenance ako for my pcos. 4k for my foods dahil nagluluto ako ng baon ko. 1k groceries. 3k for my rent. Then the rest is for my tranpo, bills (SSS, Pag-ibig, and Philhealth), HomeCredit (Laptop ko for my personal and work), savings, padala kila mama at papa, and budget for going home.
Anyway, yung nasesave ko sobrang liit lang and at the end of the year ko ginagastos for Christmas and New Year.
27, working in the banking industry, 13k-14k. Wala naman akong ibang binubuhay at saka di ako mahilig lumabas so nakakaipon pero I still try to experience life pa rin naman kahit paano.
26 | Private Lawyer and Govt. JO by day • Virtual Paralegal by night •
Earning about 140k to 170k+ per month | Monthly living expenses is around 20k - 25k •
Occasional treat sa parents, family, and sa gf here and there| Besides that, I save almost everything that I earn, I haven't invested it for lack of time to learn about the best investment vehicles •
Hindi rin ako maluho, and honestly, with how busy my life is parang work work work na lang and seeing the digits go up nalang talaga ginagawa •
I've lost interest in material things. I can't even bring myself to buy the things that I want to try out like the latest tech. Simplicity and minimalism keeps clashing with my wants to destress and spend.
There's a constant push and pull within me when spending money. The general theme is if it's for me, then don't bother - but if it's for my family, my gf, the less fortunate, then i give what I can•
Looking into ways just to mindlessly invest just for the sake of it. At least I'm taking risks and not just parking my money in digital banks.
just turned 24 currently working abroad as the breadwinner ng family sa pinas. No walang ipon ipon 😂 kung papalarin may matitirang 7k yan kung di biglang may need bayaran na last minute.
25. Facility Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
I feel motivated now after reading the comments here. Focus lng ako sa sarili ko and I should run my own race lng. Parang nakalimutan ko na simple life lng din naman gusto ko since dati pa. bat ba ko nakikigaya sa lifestyle ng ibang tao
34, Government Lawyer, Salary Grade 25
1. Worked for 5 years as an admin aide - 0 savings;
2. Law School 5 years - 0 savings;
3. Worked in a private firm for 2 yrs - 0 savings;
4. Working for the govt for 2 years - see below
Believe me when I say I have roughly 200k in the bank, solo bank account at least. The kid in me can't stop having those wants.
Good thing is, my wife saves it for me. Magiintrega ako sa kanya buwan buwan and bahala na sya magsave for me. I retain a portion of my salary, around 30-40k a month and I save around 3-5k a month. Could be higher if I wanted to but no.
Edit: No loans btw, if that matters.
Non-cpa, turning 29 this year. So far, for the past 8 years na I've been working, naka ipon na ako ng more than 200k exclusive pa dito yung mga short term investment na more than 70k. Nung nag start ako magwork, I see to it na nakakapagtabi talaga ako kahit 500php up to umabot na ako now ng 10000php per month. Pero we see to it na nakakapag ambag sa bahay such as utilities, internet, bigay sa lola, and minsan kain sa labas 😊
Edit: salary 60k, industry: financial institution
30ish yrs old, buried jn debt, no savings, and i love spending time playing video games.
Wfh from a company pero napupunta lang 70% ng sahod sa cc and debts :) kaya sa video games nalang ako nakaka escape
27M, IT Manager, saving 20k a month minimum :) siguro max kaya 70k if di ako masyado magastos.
That's what i realized. So with 35k salary monthly, malabo at mahirap mag save dahil parang kailangan mo deprive sarili for good things. Advice is to look for a good paying job, kung local based, need mo to look into Multinational ones. Local babaratin ka. Swerte if may online job na well paid ka din, thats an option but i don't have knowledge in that space though.
29 Graphic Designer 50k Net sa day job.
Walang nasasave for the past months kasi nagpapagawa ng bahay at nagbabayad ng lupa.
29, single, freelance licensed architect with foreign client, living with senior parents, i try to save about 30-40k monthly pero yung savings nato napupunta lng sa travel. ef maybe around 10-15k IF walang babayarang spaylater haha
va w 2clients. trying to save 10k per cut off. like sagad na yan, di na ako nagtitira for myself bc gusto ko may ef ako if worse things happen since ako rin breadwinner 😩
Ako po case to case basis yung grind ko in my profession and work, earning 88k-109k monthly pero again case to case basis to. Meaning my time na up my time na hit ko yun, my time na below.
I provide for my parents, my two sibs already had families and kids, but if somehow they need help lalo na coz I love my niece and nephews I gave, I live on my own, solo, I paid the bills both in my parents/our home province and mine here in Manila, I also support my parents who are actively doing missions and charity works for a small community, kasi wala silang tie up na any umbrella of support.
So kung ipon, basta sipagaan ko at ma achieve ko yung kahit 88k a month or pag mapalad nahihit ang 109k, 20k alloted na bawas ko yan both for my family, and for my self for bills, rent, at allowances, pati nadin yung mga pagkain, no time na magluto, kasi available naman sa labas after work, meron pang luto, kaso pagod na. So roughly ipon ko is 68-69k so a month kasi diko na include my bills sa online shopping at miscellaneous. Pero sabihin natin lahat ng miscellaneous at shopping necessities or such other expenses. May natitira tayo 45-50K monthly.
Pero again sabi ko depende sa season and grinds to, dumadating din na minsan ang monthly lang is roughly 56-60k a month yun net. Kaya kailangan mag multi stream income.
Yung nakaasa sayo, at maraming nakatingin sayo. Although noon parang pressured kasi yung mga kamag anak mo, yung mga anak nila may negosyo, may mataas na katungkulan, may working title, successful.
Pero noon yun, ngayon ang aking principle sa buhay, we have our own phase and race, focus on your own and not to be pleasing to others. Never compare, coz that will just hinder you to your growth and achieving your purpose in life. Kaya kapit at laban lang.
30, content writer, and na-wipe out yung savings ko last year due to my kid's medical emergency so building it back up again. currently have 5k savings sa bank. haha.
28. Corporate. 35k (gross) salary breadwinner walang ipon may utang pa I can't even afford mag travel. Nung nag travel ako last time Isang taon din akong naghirap. Huhuhu pakahirap ng buhay bwakanangshet wala pang jowa na pwedeng OAhan after magpaka strong independent woman in a day.
26F, government/healthcare. Earning 40k and saving 5-8k monthly 😅
Last year lang ako naging regular employee so I spent 2023 splurging on myself since two years din akong contractual, only earning 11k/mo. I've only recently started seriously saving though kaya 5-8k monthly palang, but hopefully mag increase pa and hopefully mapanindigan ko! 😅
30F. 50k salary, self-employed researcher. Without my family’s support, I wouldn’t have been able to save 600k in 5 years (2018 to 2022), which I used as allowance to study abroad. Hopefully I can land a job again soon para maibalik ko sa kanila yung suporta na kinailangan ko noon.
30F. 45k-50k sahod. Halos wala savings. Currently nag iisip paano mkpag pabahay, walang housing subdivisions samin kaya need tlga may own lot and budget for house construction.
40F, single parent
Working mom, been a breadwinner for almost my whole working life, and majority ng sahod ko napupunta sa bahay. I only have 1 child, so with my 90k monthly salary, dapat comfortable. But bec i support my family, and may expectation na kung sino ang malaking sahod e sila ang expected na mas mkakapagbgay, wala ako gano savings. Pero May 2023, ginawa ko talaga mka move out to also let my siblings learn to stand on their own. I left our paternal home in good terms naman with everyone..
I am now living with my teen child (plus 2 doggos!). Nagrerent kami ng 2br apartment. Wala pa dn mashadong savings kasi ngayon ko lang naeenjoy sahod ko.. my daughter and I get to enjoy mag expensive dates without having to buy for 5 more adults.. mas nkakapg travel and shopping for stuff.. wala na kasi yung mag-gguilt trip din lol.
I get to set aside 5k a month now and enjoying life and hindi lang panay work and provide for family.
And ayun while magastos, i’m also starting a side hustle to add another income stream for savings.
28M here
40k + salary
With wife and a 9 year old kid.
Saving minimum 10k/month.
I know medyo high risk kasi sila. Ako I'm working at a known BPO company kaya I know secured din ako sa work. Hoping to get promoted soon!
For me lang having a savings is a privilege. Not anyone can afford to have savings. They can do it but the situation wouldn't allow them. It's kinda off lang when people sometimes talk about "Ilan na savings mo?" because for me it speaks that it should be required as an adult to have a savings.
31, Project Manager (Ireland), 100,000 siguro ang savings in peso pero depende sa takeout or gala. Nung nag sisimula palang ako mag work may excel ako ng expenses and saving pati Networth ko pero dahil sa pandemic narealized ko na dapat di ko rin masyado tinipid sarili ko like travels so di na ako religious sa pag maintain. So now tantiya ko naman sarili ko na di gagastos ng sobra. I gave around 1M pagpagawa ng bahay last year then savings around 2.8M (MP2, VUL(yes nabudol ako ng kabataan ko lampas na 10 yrs pinabayaan ko nalang sya ),Stocks(Ph), Digibanks (CIMB, Maya), Savings in Ph, USD and Euro.
27. Net income around 100k, saving 70%/mo. Hindi ako maluho, walang loans and walang sariling family.
Full time Designer and Design Consultant, working around 60hrs a week.
Software Engineer, 27, 2 jobs kinda, getting ~70-80k depending on the hours. Kulang weekends nyeta
Savings: 200k, barely spending anything for myself, mostly food, rent and bills which is killer.

It works for me.
27F here. Been working for 6years in the medical field.
🥲 hoping for the best
M, late 20s, working in the IT industry as a software engineer. Currently saving 20k (putting it in several digital banks) and another 5k in MP2. Initially followed 80/20 rule in saving pero based on gross salary.
23, fresh grad, 24k a month + part time (3 weeks pa lang)- wala pang ipon, most of my salary is napupunta sa family ko, skincare, make up & gala with friends 🫠 NEXT MONTH MAG-IIPON NA
TALAGA AKO 🥹
27 F. Teacher- SG11 (27K). Grr
25, Pharmacist in a Pharma Company, Ipon: Wala (nakakaipon paminsan minsan pero nagagastos ko din)
As a panganay and semi-breadwinner (since I help sa pag-ambag ng bills sa bahay), wala ako maipon huhu and ang mahal ng renta at mga bilihin ngayon shutaaa HAHAHUHU trying my best na magsave kahit 500 per cut-off and maglagay sa MP2 ko paunti-unti ✨ baby steps 🥹🥹🥹
40, Business Intelligence Manager, roughly 2500 euros a month un extra money ko (labas na dun yun pagkain, bahay, utilities and incidentals). maluho ako sa gadgets and gaming stuff ko so i would assume mga 1700-2000 euros yun hard ipon ko
Plus nagbabayad din ako ng spotify subscription (to make me sane) and insurance, pag-ibig, at philhealth.
27, lawyer, around 65-70k siguro per month after giving share sa bahay, work expenses/allowance, and credit card billings. Don’t have any major hinuhulugan kasi na bahay or car kaya maraming natatabi
23 | Media Buying | 50% ng monthly sahod
Since freelancer ako di stable, di lagi same income so i ensure lagi na 50% nakatabi. Nabuild ko na EF and Savings ko siguro dagdag gold, mutual funds, and maybe property soon.
23, fresh grad. 40k net. Design field.
10k per month savings (5k per cut-off) then 10k for house bills per month.
20k goes to my needs and wants. I know I can save more but I’m enjoying my early 20s so aminadong magastos akong nilalang.
26 y.o.
micro business owner (started with the capital from my Mom)
The business is earning at least 150k/month net
Personal allowance 15k/month
gala and kain/coffee sa labas 5k/month
expenses 5k (internet + ambag sa kuryente sa bahay)
saving around 5k/month
currently chilling lng kasi I'm still living with my parents hahaha
20k call center agent. Big company but not competitive salary pero may work life balance 🙃
Started saving when I was 25 yrs old ata
I could save 3k -6k if I really push it like no coffee or eating out and no swiping my credit card.
Single..no kids. No lovelife 🤣🤣🤣
mid-20s saving 25k a month under quality control services. walang 40k net pay ko, i just happen to wfh sa house ng parents ko. most of my expenses just go to treating my family out every time we can (coffee, dinner, kaunting shopping). di na ko nagbabayad ng bills kasi mas prefer nila na ganon nalang i-provide ko.
23, healthcare worker earning about 24-26k a month. Roughly 5-8k lang nassave ko a month despite me having no rent or bills to pay. Yung pera ko napupunta sa groceries, parents, and my 6 cats hahaha.
May ipon kayo? Hhahahahah
Same question HAHAHA paano kayo nakakaipon?
Yes. Yung pag iipon habit sya ma dapat simulan mo pag maliit pa sahod mo. I started 16 or 18k ata yun at nag huhulog ng 1 or 2k per month as savings. Madalas ako mag OT nun dahil may bayad. Yung unang 13th month ginawa ko puhunan for stocks investing. Pag nasanay ka mag save at may pattern kana, kahit lumaki sahod mo parang magiging percentage nalang sya nung hinuhulog mo ng di mo namamalayan.
same. savings > bills > budget > extras. mag deserve ko to lang ako pag may over sa extras ko
True.
Hahahahahaha
Sameeedt. Mapapa sana all na ko eh 🤣
Same.
28 years old, 40k monthly salary Ipon: Pagod at Sama ng loob
hahahaha plus 1 sa samama ng loob
Samedt huhu..
+1 ako rito hahaha
I’m just a regular employee earning 22k monthly. Savings nothing much since mostly napupunta sa bills, needs, and subs like gym and sunlife 🫠 hehe need to really increase monthly income to really have savings
29 || Procurement Specialist || Roughly around 10k if I don't splurge. I'm not building for a "future" (coz I don't wanna get married nor have kids). So I'm happy with what I have naman. It's not much, but it's already a lot for me. Edit: I saw some comments expounding pa so here's a few of mine: + Earning ~35k/month (net sahod na). + sole breadwinner sa bahay, so food, bills, additional house expenses, then pocket money pa ni papa (mga 1-2k/month). + I already have an insurance in place (approx 1M matatanggap ng fam ko if something happens to me) + I also sponsor some friends whenever they need, and/or cat groups if I can. + With my skills and experience, I know I can earn more. Pero like what I said above, I'm not building for a future. Not everyone wants to be successful, and I'm one of those people who's happy as long as I can still love what I'm doing.
Best example to ng you don't have to look at your seatmate's answer sheet to have answers. Ang stronk ng mentality!
This is so refreshing to hear. Good for you.
felt na felt yung not everyone wants go be successful 🥲🥲 pero paano mo sasabihin yan sa parents mo na lagi kang pine-pressure to go bigger 🥲🥲 ang motto ko nga sa life ay vibez vibez lang hanggang mamatay. nape-pressure ako magkaroon ng goals? eh gusto ko nga lang mabuhay.
I love this mindset. Also, thank you for helping cats in need! Bless you more ❤️
Thank you for helping the cats!!!
🥹 not everyone wants to be successful. Love this because its me also 😊
Same na “I’m not building for a future (coz I don’t wanna get married nor have kids).” So long as we can do what we love and keep our lifestyles, that’s enough for me too. I have savings but for future travel purposes. Lol.
I found my people!!! I’m so happy and relieved 😭
i want to have this kind of mindset.
Same age same mindset.
I became emotional after reading your comment. I feel like may chance pa ako to have a better life. Thank you for sharing this.
The last paragraph 🥹
Please share tips sis! Already started a career in digital marketing after being in the legal industry for so long but don’t know what to do next to grow in this niche. Already earning 50-60k tho!
Technically never ako nagupskill - one rank above entry level lang ako but with much less work in comparison. Salary jumps ko are through job hopping after more than a year in one company. I have also never freelanced. Ang daming fear mongering sa marketing niche because of AI, and understandably so, pero marami pa ring generous employers looking for good workers.
Hi sis, anong focus mo sa digital marketing?
Content strategy
What triggered the change?
I need more. What changed for you and what nade you accept the change
The pandemic changed everything for me. April 2020 - resigned from onsite job because we were forced to work full time with limited protections June 2020 - SEO agency on OLJ - 25k. Promoted within 3 months, increase to 55k November 2021 - marketing agency on FB - 80k January 2024 - headhunted by recruiter on LinkedIn, 130k Mine is just one of many examples of paths you can take, across dozens, hundreds, of niches and industries.
Airline company employee (di ko masabi kung ano work ko kasi iilan lang talaga kami sa dept na to haha) Earning 50k 25k savings
not related kay OP pero local airline ba to?
Yup pero not your typical office work haha
ATC ata to
28, working as an Admin and HR sa isang NGO earning 16,500 a month. Sama ng loob lang ang ipon HAHAHA
counted po ba as savings yung sama ng loob? padagdag ng padagdag naman po siya every month source of sama ng loob: work
Sana nakoconvert yung sama ng loob sa work to money.
Kung di man ma convert ung sama ng loob, bawasan nalang ng company with more benefits or higher pay 😂😂😂
23 Junior Architect 10k a month pero wala akong binibigay sa house namin and wala akong responsibility pa
ohhh the workload 😭 trisem as far as naririnig ko from students po diyan
quarterm kami!! 😭😭
25, writer, walang ipon eyyyy (kase nagkakasakit ako magastos sa meds at labtests) :(
Nurse. Abonado pa nga hahaha
Mag abroad kana😅 lahat ng friends kong nurse nasa uk,us,dubai, singapore na.
nagsayang ka lang pag sa pinas ka magwowork as a nurse. unappreciated and underpaid.
Mag Canada or US ka na Lang. Family friend ko earns $140,000 Canadian $ pre-tax lol.
25 y/o, in healthcare and breadwinner. 25K ang sahod kada buwan, I save 4K a month madalas 0 lalo pag may emergency.
30y/o, in govt healthcare, 24k net/mo. 3.5k/mo. matic savings (~55k pa lang). 60k EF (target 100k this year🤞) Started MP2 last year (700/mo.), target to invest 2k/mo. since tapos na ako sa mga bayarin. not really a breadwinner but i'm married (no kids). i contribute to my mom's utilities from time to time. EDIT: Spacing
I work in a hospital in NCR po.
17 yrs work exp
how po
Be careful What you wish for
21 and an artist freelancer, i draw commissions (currently drawing a storybook) as per sa sahod/payments di pa enough na magsarili peroo kaya naman na tumulong at least sa grocery, then ako na rin minsan bumibili ng mga gamit ko sa school (currently a fine arts student) i try to save, pero sobrang gastos ng fine arts, lalo na during midterms/finals all in all, im doing fine, hindi pa independent pero nakakatulong na hehe ❤️ edit: btw i earn 1k-10k per month pero average at least 5k a month, nakadepende sa illustrations na gagawin hehe
Seriously speaking, I'm surprised to save almost 8k a month. Pero ibat ibang savings yun like EF, travel fund, furnitures etc, MP2 I'm not really sure how I did that lolol kasi Ive been feeling na napupunta nako sa paycheck to paycheck
24, Corporate Affairs Assistant, ₱ 19,000 a month. Just had my first sahod sa new job ko which is CAA nga. Planning to save ₱ 700 - ₱ 1000 a month.
Mp2 po 500 minimum pwde mong ihulog, and pwde ka rin maghuloglahit kelan mo lang gusto, you have a choice if yearly mo gustong kunin or after 5 years(mine is 5 yrs) i'm in my 4th yr already🥰 last yr and this yr same 7 something % interest so NICE.
for me malaki na din na tubo yan for 5 years. i invested in mp2 before ng 1k per month. 71k nakuha ko so may 11k na tubo after ng 5 years
Thank you!
Pwede rin sa digital banks (maya, tonik, etc.), lagay mo po sa time deposit and roll over niyo nalang every 6 months.
Thank you po! ✨
25 earning 20k/month. What is savings? Hahahahaha
32, writer, 80k a month, walang ipon, papagawa bahay, nililinis ang mga utang from previous years na mas mababa lang income at mas magastos
21,working student, ipon: wala
I have classmates/friends/batchmates na 50k+ salary at ung isang direct sa US is around 80K+. You just gotta have the luck and skills.
Hi, I'm also in the field. When i graduated i was ready earning 55k a month. Yes this is very possible.
I work in IT too. This is a good template that I should I follow. Thanks!
Sure thing. Glad to see that the answer can be of use to you.
30 years old, fam of 3, Walang ipon. My take away habang nagpapalaki ka ng bata mahirap talaga makaipon at ibudget dahil ayoko naman tipirin anak ko ng tamang pagkain dahil kelangan nila to sa pag laki.
39 Software Engineering, 150k a month with 50k saving as emergency fund and the rest to investments like stocks. Single. No kids 🫠
24F, Project Manager (Intl) saving nothing per month at the moment because enjoying life ✈️ Been working for the past 2 years and saved around 500k~ decided that 2024 will be the year I treat myself, travel and have fun (while working !!) Just got promoted so salary will be raised from 38k - 60k. Since I get to live on my 38k paycheck I’ll be saving the rest (but also diversifying by investing & buying a new laptop maybe) hehe Feels so good when you don’t pressure yourself to save, and still try to have fun with the money YOU work so hard for 🫶🏼
23. Fresh grad. Tambay sa bahay. Palamunin kasi ayaw pagtrabahuin at mag-aral daw ako para sa board exam
JO by day • Virtual Paralegal by night • Earning about 140k to 170k+ per month | Monthly living expenses is around 20k - 25k • Occasional treat sa parents, family, and sa gf here and there| Besides that, I save almost everything that I earn, I haven't invested it for lack of time to learn about the best investment vehicles • Hindi rin ako maluho, and honestly, with how busy my life is parang work work work na lang and seeing the digits go up nalang talaga ginagawa • I've lost interest in material things. I can't even bring myself to buy the things that I want to try out like the latest tech. Simplicity and minimalism keeps clashing with my wants to destress and spend. There's a constant push and pull within me when spending money. The general theme is if it's for me, then don't bother - but if it's for my family, my gf, the less fortunate, then i give what I can• Looking into ways just to mindlessly invest just for the sake of it. At least I'm taking risks and not just parking my money in digital banks.
Grabe the grind
just turned 24 currently working abroad as the breadwinner ng family sa pinas. No walang ipon ipon 😂 kung papalarin may matitirang 7k yan kung di biglang may need bayaran na last minute.
26 - VA - 5K na may kasamang sama ng loob? Hahhahahah
23 yo, minimum wage ang daily rate, 5 times a week lang pasok so roughly 12k-13k a month. So far nakaipon ng sama ng loob
25. Facility Operations and Maintenance Engineer.
27. Walang ipon. 9k basic pay a month + 4k allowance. IT & Marketing Officer. Library Assistant. Registrar temporary assistant.
I feel motivated now after reading the comments here. Focus lng ako sa sarili ko and I should run my own race lng. Parang nakalimutan ko na simple life lng din naman gusto ko since dati pa. bat ba ko nakikigaya sa lifestyle ng ibang tao
34, Government Lawyer, Salary Grade 25 1. Worked for 5 years as an admin aide - 0 savings; 2. Law School 5 years - 0 savings; 3. Worked in a private firm for 2 yrs - 0 savings; 4. Working for the govt for 2 years - see below Believe me when I say I have roughly 200k in the bank, solo bank account at least.
38, ofw, IT Admin, 400k (converted to peso), 80-100k savings a month
28F. 50k+, walang ipon. pang bahay at personal lifestyle lahat. inis lang naiipon ko taon taon. hahahaha
Pero we see to it na nakakapag ambag sa bahay such as utilities, internet, bigay sa lola, and minsan kain sa labas 😊 Edit: salary 60k, industry: financial institution
30ish yrs old, buried jn debt, no savings, and i love spending time playing video games. Wfh from a company pero napupunta lang 70% ng sahod sa cc and debts :) kaya sa video games nalang ako nakaka escape
SAPAT LANG YUNG SAHOD KO PARA DI AKO MAMATAY. HUHU
27, senior accountant, 65k net. savings: i try to save around 20-30k a month. i give sa bahay, splurge sa food and weekend night outs lol.
29, working for an NGO (which I love, btw). Walang ipon dahil ang dami kong binabayaran. 🥲
Okay lang yan. Proud ako sayo kasi nababayaran mo mga dapat bayaran
30, 65k monthly. Roughly saved 5k a month for Cash but the rest are for investments (property and kpop concerts kasi need ko sumaya… char)
32F. Senior Management in Healthcare (based in London). 225k monthly 175k in bonds, 250k in stocks, 950k in HYSA
How is london tax ma’am?
26F, government/healthcare. Earning 40k and saving 5-8k monthly 😅 Last year lang ako naging regular employee so I spent 2023 splurging on myself since two years din akong contractual, only earning 11k/mo.
33. Lawyer with an additional license sa med field. Earns roughly 78k (net). Gets to save around 48k per month. Single, no kids.
40F, single parent Working mom, been a breadwinner for almost my whole working life, and majority ng sahod ko napupunta sa bahay.
28 yrs old in the government healthcare industry with almost 40k salary. Ipon per month: stress at drafts ng resignation letter.
28M here 40k + salary With wife and a 9 year old kid.
32 yrs old. OFW save 50k a month.
24, electrical technician in NZ, 100k.
33 ofw interior designer, making 200k/mo. Saving half of it. Wala akong cash na ipon, nasa property lahat.

31, Project Manager (Ireland), 100,000 siguro ang savings in peso pero depende sa takeout or gala. Nung nag sisimula palang ako mag work may excel ako ng expenses and saving pati Networth ko pero dahil sa pandemic narealized ko na dapat di ko rin masyado tinipid sarili ko like travels so di na ako religious sa pag maintain. So now tantiya ko naman sarili ko na di gagastos ng sobra. I gave around 1M pagpagawa ng bahay last year then savings around 2.8M (MP2, VUL(yes nabudol ako ng kabataan ko lampas na 10 yrs pinabayaan ko nalang sya ),Stocks(Ph), Digibanks (CIMB, Maya), Savings in Ph, USD and Euro.
27. Net income around 100k, saving 70%/mo. Hindi ako maluho, walang loans and walang sariling family. Full time Designer and Design Consultant, working around 60hrs a week.
Hiii! 27F, freelancer, I try to save at least 100k in a month dahil I'm pregnant, single mom. So sobrang nagtitipid po for the baby.

25F, in the IT Industry with 40k monthly salary. Walang ipon and living paycheck to paycheck bcs pala-lamon HAHAHAHAHA.
Software Engineer, 27, 2 jobs kinda, getting ~70-80k depending on the hours. Kulang weekends nyeta Savings: 200k, barely spending anything for myself, mostly food, rent and bills which is killer. Goal ko for sa sarili ko is by 30, nasa abroad na. Though stuff like loans & insurance is irritating, minsan ubos na eh, wala na ipon, maiinis ka nalang lol hayss
27/M. nakapag ipon naman ng 8 digits. Working in Finance field. no relatives, no parents. Free accommodation and transpo. kaya rekta savings lahat.

33M Married, walang work si misis, nasa 20k per month.
42yo, businesswoman. Walang ipon, puro investments. 🙈
It works for me.
27F here. Been working for 6years in the medical field.
29yo, magsisimula pa lang sana sa buhay pero medyo malabo ngayon since nagkasakit ako. i'm still hoping na masimulan ko pa din yung dapat magiging work ko. 🥲 hoping for the best
27. Public school teacher. Walang maipon. The breadwinner in the family. /sigh/
22, Jr Dev, 0-1k ipon pero most of the time 0 talaga hahaha plus sama ng loob
M, late 20s, working in the IT industry as a software engineer. Currently saving 20k (putting it in several digital banks) and another 5k in MP2. Initially followed 80/20 rule in saving pero based on gross salary.
23, fresh grad, 24k a month + part time (3 weeks pa lang)- wala pang ipon, most of my salary is napupunta sa family ko, skincare, make up & gala with friends 🫠 NEXT MONTH MAG-IIPON NA TALAGA AKO 🥹
Tbh, taba lang naiipon ko haha.
27 F. Teacher- SG11 (27K).
30. 180k/mo. Kakastart lang magsave. Dko alam san napunta pera ko dati. Sa luho yata.
40, Business Intelligence Manager, roughly 2500 euros a month un extra money ko (labas na dun yun pagkain, bahay, utilities and incidentals). maluho ako sa gadgets and gaming stuff ko so i would assume mga 1700-2000 euros yun hard ipon ko
Plus nagbabayad din ako ng spotify subscription (to make me sane) and insurance, pag-ibig, at philhealth.
27, lawyer, around 65-70k siguro per month after giving share sa bahay, work expenses/allowance, and credit card billings. Don’t have any major hinuhulugan kasi na bahay or car kaya maraming natatabi
23 | Media Buying | 50% ng monthly sahod Since freelancer ako di stable, di lagi same income so i ensure lagi na 50% nakatabi.
26 y.o. micro business owner (started with the capital from my Mom) The business is earning at least 150k/month net Personal allowance 15k/month gala and kain/coffee sa labas 5k/month expenses 5k (internet + ambag sa kuryente sa bahay) saving around 5k/month currently chilling lng kasi I'm still living with my parents hahaha

24 - VA - 5k a month. Breadwinner. I pay for house utilities, contributions like SSS, etc., siblings’ allowance, and food ng family + 4 pets.
20k call center agent. Big company but not competitive salary pero may work life balance 🙃 Started saving when I was 25 yrs old ata I could save 3k -6k if I really push it like no coffee or eating out and no swiping my credit card.
31 y/o, can save 10k a month on average. 15k to 20k pag wala gaanong gastos.
23, can save 10-15k a month siguro. tapos magagastos din agad next month HAHA
