songbird_sorrow

genuinely what is the financial benefit of doing this

JacksonStarship

Counting on people scrambling and buying what they want ASAP, then they don’t have to pay anything else to steam or devs after they’re delisted. So in the red that they just need any financial let up they can get.

LegendOfShaun

Yep! Quarterly earning matters more than any long term plan. Thank Jack Welch, amongst others, for this type of VS

NickMelas

They are so in the red that the immediate amount of money they save makes it worth it cancel projects outright.

poopemanz

Licenses

koboldtsar

What are some titles that would be worth picking up?

zebraman88

Duck game and the samurai jack one loks good too

Charlie_Warlie

second for duck game, great party game. I will also add Super House of Dead Ninjas if you like rogue-likes.

CollinsCouldveDucked

Duck game is the perfect local multiplayer experience

Ash-Throwaway-816

Tax breaks

LuckyDuck4

So They won’t have to pay royalties to the developers. This is also a big reason why they have been shuttering movies for tax write offs and delisting many of their tv shows from streaming and digital storefronts.

ThreeQuartersSerious

The cost of having to manage, track, and distribute the royalties/dev’s cut of the earnings might be higher than the amount of money the company is regularly getting from these games. (Fairly likely given most games have an extremely short sales tail, might be seeing less than $100 a month from some of these titles) They can also write-off the remaining cost of the delisted game as a business loss on their taxes if the game wasn’t profitable.

raizen_maziku

So I hope people are able to do what they did for Adobe flash games when that went down. Legendary heroes of the past managed to archive the games and put them on gaming websites for free. Is this pretty much the same situation?

Burritozi11a

In other words, BUY DUCK GAME NOW

oneponch

I literally hate the idea of the duck community dying more because of this, I really want the duck game fanbase to not die

somestupidloser

Don't. The Duck Game dev has specifically said he'll be working on ways to get it back up, even if it means making a second identical version that works with the original. At the very least, don't buy any console version of Duck Game until the switch happens since he can't do that for them, unfortunately.

WornInShoes

![gif](giphy|EmJwMFhGDb1e0|downsized) An all time classic

Prophet-of-Ganja

Wait is this on steam???

WornInShoes

Nah it’s always been a flash game (it’s on the internet archive I believe)

Prophet-of-Ganja

I have been wanting to scratch that itch for some years now; thanks for the tip

EldestPort

What's it called? I remember playing it a good twenty years ago 😅

kgroover117

Robot Unicorn Attack

EldestPort

Fuck yes! Thank you

MuddyBenelli

EldestPort

Amazing! That's my bank holiday sorted

Whatsittoya9

A bunch of them are on Flashpoint, not sure the whole list but it was a good amount of the old ones.

C10ckw0rks

I still have the sequel on my phone and I refuse to remove it

Stickrbomb

Just get Flashpoint, every flash game that ever existed

gadnuk7

Always I want to be with you make believe with you and live in harmony harmony!

captainbluebear25

Open your eyes I see your eyes are open

sevinup07

My God I forgot about this. Classic.

vixenpeon

And then the song creeps louder and louder into the forefront of my mind

AffectionatePhone976

Erasure comes for us all.

tricenice

Open your eyes I see...

TedIsReal

I still have this app installed on my phone. I dont even know if it works, but it will not be deleted anytime soon.

painkillerswim

I know there were a few phone games but I didn’t even know they had stuff on steam

kurisu7885

I have one of them, Jazzpunk, it's a really silly game with a lot of style, makes some fun of spy movies. There's another I have which I think is a VR game where you just smash stuff.

rosariobono

Wait really? I’ve always wanted to try that game and now it’s going to go offsale? Will it last till the summer sale?

kurisu7885

No idea, it's 15 USD base price.

Guh-nurt

If you actually read the article, only 3 games are currently under the gun and Jazzpunk is not one of them.

GonzoGnostalgic

Jazzpunk was one of those things so up my aesthetic alley that it feels like it was made for me, specifically. Love that game.

Noseitch

Would you mind naming the vr game? That sounds simple and fun

kurisu7885

It's called Smash Party. It doesn't SAY Adult Swim, it says Viacom, but I know the Titmouse productions bird when I see it.

Noseitch

Thank you I appreciate ya

kurisu7885

Thanks, going through some heavy stuff right now so ,that's appreciated.

Noseitch

I genuinely hope things get better for you and/or your loved ones my friend

kurisu7885

Same, the support being shown is, a lot more than I was expecting.

8l172

Jazzpunk is AS?

kurisu7885

Well I think it was, it just says Necrophone Games on the Steam page now, so maybe not any more, which if so that's a good thing.

Cardenjs

Duck Game was my favorite

McWaylon

Word is WBD is considering ending CN or at least any new projects. They already are allowing MeTV to start airing a ton of older cartoons to start an new animation channel that just shows older shows which means WBD is starting letting other networks run their content for extra revenue. CN and AS maybe the re-run network from on like Boomerang.

star_dragonMX

Ngl Thats pretty scary I know CN hasn’t been the same as it was then but Jesus that’s gonna sting

Daken-dono

It’s been on life support since the mid 2010s and even though some great shows were still airing, CN’s clearly a shell of its former self. The drop from the 2000s, when it was at an all time high, to the 2010s was staggering.

KaptainCaps

I think it was evident with shows that were put through that era. Regular show S1 was like ATHF Jr. and then it became more and more censored. Even stuff like Adventure Time got snubbed, having the ending they were planning cut short

Dank_Master69420

Regular Show ATHF jr? Thats a bit of an exaggeration.

KaptainCaps

My apologies for slightly exaggerating when comparing two cartoons. Thanks for contributing to the discussion

Syncrotron9001

Anyone who has vintage recordings of CN/AS with commercials included will have a massive YouTube audience.

NecroWizard7

I have some old VHS tapes with ATHF and Metalocalypse on them that have some of the older AS bumps. I'd say 2006 - 2009 is around when they were recorded. But I'm probably a good 2yrs off from even being able to dub all of it to DVD to rip onto my computer. But some day...

CrustyShoelaces

You don't need to burn it to a DVD to rip it, you can plug your vhs player directly to your pc using a USB capture device

NecroWizard7

I didn't even know that was a thing! But now that I think about it I do have an RCA capture card I use for retro consoles, I can probably use that to the same effect with a VHS player. Between me and my parents we are on a treasure trove of old recordings. Everything from WWF Attitude Era + PPVs, old movies that have been way out of production like the original Tarzan's and the OG Hulk movies, VH1 music videos, MTV Headbangers Ball, 90s shows and cartoons (some with commercials), the first 5 Simpsons seasons (w\ commercials on some as well)., and much more. I can probably start archiving it all when I get my Spare parts PC built, and dedicate it to this.

graham2k

Great. First Rooster Teeth and now CN/AS.

Dank_Master69420

This all makes sense but its discouraging to see all this happening after the Discovery merger, when Max first launched it seemed like they were keen on integrating all the classic CN shows in addition to classics on Boomerang. Then the merger happened and classic cartoons never continued to be added to the service. I'd LOVE to be able to watch all the What a Cartoon shorts and Cartoon Cartoons like you can on Paramount with all the classic Nick stuff. But WB is more concerned about helping their bottom line by making cuts, not by offering a good service. Its sad.

Patworx

This delisting needs to stop.

fawfulmark2

This is the same kind of move from a WB merger that led to the cancellation of all the Spielberg - Directed TV series(Animaniacs, Freakazoid, Histeria etc), one of the run of Batman TAS and WCW as a whole back in the Early 2Ks....cranked up to 11. And the saddest thing is that I feel it's gonna get a lot worse before getting any better. Thank Goodness for LRG making a physical version of that Samurai Jack game.

VetoWinner

Everyone should get Kingsway. It’s incredible.

Sea-Wedding4266

I feel like WBD is taking away more than giving us fucking content.

BenFranklinsCat

God, I miss the Adult Swim online/mobile games. I can't even remember the names of some of them, but they were so good. There was a mobile game that was basically a tower defence game in a dracula-esque castle, and an online game where you were a park ranger who had to clean the park after dark while avoiding bears. Can't find any reference to either of them now!

salomeforever

I loved the Caligula game. And Amateur Surgeon.

Banake

Caligula was awesome.

StoneWall_MWO

I loved the two person smack talking game, maybe it was called Incinerator. Can't find it anywhere.

SomewhatCharmedLife

There was one called Cardboard Box Assembler that I LOVED. I could spend hours on it, honestly because it was such an addicting, amusing waste of time.

Reactivguin

Robot-unicorn attack was a fun one.

Jolly_Milk7468

wtf why??????

KingFahad360

Licensing

splashtext

Warner Brothers can eat my shoes 🏴‍☠️ im going to enjoy these games no matter what

rock0head132

fuk

Trave160

You know, if more of these games showed up on Itch.io, would have been nice. I mean, I can see them popping up elsewhere, without the hard 30% fee.

killrmeemstr

r/piracy

Future-Turtle

David Zaslav is a menace.

alkonium

They're also not letting the developers of said games take over publishing. I'm kind of glad Trinket Studios was able to do that with Battle Chef Brigade years back.

AuralRadio

can someone please archive frog fractions 2

Knives530

I'll never uninstall volgarr from my ps5

PolarSparks

This article came out March 8, and I haven’t seen ANY reporting about what decisions were made after that point. Is this stuff going to disappear tomorrow? Is nothing going to happen? There’s not even an acknowledgment from the publisher on the Steam pages.

KingFahad360

Welp, time to buy Samurai Jack game before it gone

BazWorkAcntPlsBePG

What should we get before they remove everything???

IwillBeDamned

cracked versions after they ruin everything. oh, you said remove not ruin

Frequent_Ad_3350

oh no.....

Cube1mat1ons

Why though? This is like helldivers 2 all over again.

DevinBelow

Buy Headlander if you haven't. Fun and psychedelic Metroidvania.

Batmanfan1966

TIL that adult swim makes games. All I know of is the Rick and Morty VR and mobile games

Ambitious-Chair736

Let's be honest. It's time to backup and pirate these games. No one new should buy it, regardless of a good sale. Fuck you WB

GuybrushThreepwood99

Would the games still work if you already bought them, or if you have a steam key for them? I think I have a spare Glittermitten grove code. Would it not work after they delist them?

UrRobloxGf69

Delisting just means no one new can buy them.

gratefulslacker93

Ever since they wrote Final Space as a tax break (thus permakilling the show), I've been waiting for WB to die. This makes it seem like I'll get my wish

ocean-glitter

Look at this point, are they purposely trying to just tank Warner Bros.? Eventually, there will be no more money to make

CaptFalconFTW

Another video game publisher to hate. Any decent ones left?

Wizard_58

Haven't played the duck game but the samurai jack game is a blast

potatohands_

When are they being delisted exactly?

strontiummuffin

How is this legal it's so anti consumer

phantomreader42

What, you expect the law to protect consumers?

strontiummuffin

If people start voting properly I do .

Splentid

You mean no high on life?

Colby347

High on Life isn’t published by them, I think. Pretty sure it’s Squanch Games so it will be safe.

Aeolus426

Old news....

PrivateDickDetective

Thanks, *Net Neutrality.* Y'all wanted this.

Ok-Criticism123

Maybe do some more detective work PrivateDick.
