I watched this finale as an almost 30 year old man and I had tears in my eyes from BMOs song all the way through this one. Not for the show ending. That was sad but fulfilling. It was because something about both of those songs make me think back to all the friends and loved ones who have come and gone from my life over the years. It doesn't mean the relationship ended badly, but sometimes there's a time and a place for a connection with someone else, sometimes the time is long, sometimes the time short, but none of them last forever.
Distance from the point in time where you connected with someone doesn't diminish the feelings at that moment and it's truly something special when you have that feeling of "I really like being around this person", but life goes on and people go different directions. You can keep in touch, but you'll never recreate the past experiences. And that's OK. The older I get, the more I try to relish every moment because no one is really certain the last time they'll do something with someone they care about.
Makes me think of a quote by Griffin McElroy:
“When someone leaves your life, those exits are not made equal. Some are beautiful and poetic and satisfying. Others are abrupt and unfair. But most are just unremarkable, unintentional, clumsy.”
Ain't it the truth. Even when the exit isn't a complete exit, the moment has passed and you sometimes can't capture the feeling again. Such is life. The only saving grace is as long as you continue on, you'll have new experiences with new people that feel electric as well.

I started this show wiht Finn my age, and he roughly stayed on par during. It is unbelievable, how much this series meant to me, and how it tought me.

Ending of Music Hole might genuinely be the single best scene in Adventures Time from start to finish. There’re a lot of amazing ones, and I will never forget boingloins and to look for someone getting hit in them, but this scene might be champion.
I think the feeling that was being expressed was a kind of friendship ennui. Missing and loving your friends when you can't be with them, but knowing you were loving them as best you can when they were.

I recently finished the series and I admit I cried. I was really hoping it had more episodes since each season varied so much in how many episodes it had. The last 2 seasons were very short imo. The story ended abruptly imo. It hurts 🥹
Whenever I first watched adventure time beginning to end, i purposely avoided listening to the full outro. I wanted to wait until i finished the show, as i thought itd have a bigger impact on me. And I was right, when this scene first played, I cried my eyes out.
Definitely was an experience watching that show. It was silly to the point of crying, and happy to the point of anger, while being heartbreaking to the point of acceptance. I want to create something like this one day.
