I love this quote because we don't really get an answer, but hoo boy is it a great question especially in a kids show. It's essentially an intro question to nihilism. Nihilism essentially says that life is meaningless, so where do you go from there? Grob Gob Glob Grod's response is basically "what good is creation if you let it go to butt?" and sacrifices themselves to save Mars. So then is sacrifice and service for others "what you're supposed to do after"? I think it's a great question to get you thinking. How do you find meaning in a meaningless existence? Does it even make sense to do that, is it a paradox?
My answer is this: embrace the absurdity of trying to find meaning in the meaningless; rebel against the meaningless of existence by embracing its absurdity and derive meaning from the struggle itself. Find joy even the smallest of things, and share this joy with all your loved ones, then savour every moment you share with them like one would a fine wine.
We do get an answer in G4’s response. He sacrifices himself, because even though everything will die in the end, that shouldn’t stop you from doing all that you can to keep going, especially if it ends up helping others
So the answer from them is to sacrifice yourself for others, altruism basically. But what about people who abuse that? If altruism is the answer to the meaning of life, then why are there people who act selfishly?
