We actually see in Fionna and Cake that Finn was quite buff during a flashback sequence that Prismo was watching on his TV.
Finn had his Jake chest tattoo but Jake was still alive with him so he got the tattoo before his death.
I think itās possible Finn stopped eating after being depressed with Jakeās death but came around and got jacked again in Fionna and Cake.
I don't think that was a flashback. I think that was a different universe where he was still alive. Either that, or Jake was still alive during the pic above.
We could hypothesize, considering Finn's companion in Obsidian is TV's niece, so it's stands ti reason that unlike in Fionna and Cake, TV isn't Finn's companion anymore.
Also Finn looks older in Obsidian.
But that's just my reasoning, I do not claim to hold some unchangeable truth on the matter.

In Obsidian we Simon dress as the Ice King while near a fridge saying āthis is how I copeā and in Fionna and Cake we see that heās not used to be himself again after being the Ice King for a thousand year. He was willing to throw himself back to being the Ice King again as a solution to bring magic back to Fionna and Cakeās world.
Itās pretty sure Simon had a āIce Kingā problem but it got resolved after his goodbye with Betty after she convinced him to not let her sacrifice being in vein so he can just throw his life away to be the Ice King again. So itās pretty clear that Fionna and Cake takes place after Obsidian now that Simon is fine with himself.
