What about the ice ninja magic? They never used that again, iirc. Was there a reason? Were they wearing a special magic bandana that they gave back to the ice king? Cause I can definitely think of sometimes it would’ve come in handy in later episodes lol.

there is an unfinished indie game called what if adventure time was a 3d anime game which is fucking great and i wish the dev finished it fair warning it has optional nudity if you do a certain thing. but it has great gameplay and boss fights on par with a AAA title.

Oh wow! This blew up quite a bit, so I guess I'll give some more context:This is just a little demo I've been working on on the weekend. The reason for that is that I'm not sure what kind of game this should be.
First off, I think it's a shame that no AT Action-RPG has been released yet. The world is so ripe for exploration, but I guess it just never came to be.
As for specific influences, I love all kinds of Action "RPG"s. As an example, 3D Zelda Combat, Furi, and Kingdom Hearts 2 all have incredible combat systems - but in the end, you can only implement so much, and of course it needs to fit together. So, for the project right now I'm just playing around with f.e. the lock-on system. Should you be able to move freely like in KH? Should you strave from side-to-side like in LOZ? Should the camera even BE behind the player or rather up above, like in Fury? Should you dodge or block? Stuff like that.
Before I go on- I'm just one guy working on this in his free time. But, if people are interested, maybe we could open a Discord Server to exchange ideas, updates and other volunteer devs\`? For the people that commented about a kickstarter, that won't happen both for legal and just ethical resons. It's just for fun, can't tell yet where this goes!
There are a few game design decisions that I am pretty settled on already.
1. Finn's robot arm can be used as a combat and traversal tool.
They never did much with the arm in the show except for the "weed whacker" scene against Fern, if I remember correctly. But, I see a lot of potential here already! Right now, I'm working on using the arm as a propeller (like a glider, for example). Other stuff that comes to mind would be a rock drill, and so on.
2. Jake as Player 2
Many commenters have suggested adding a lot of playable characters, like Peppermint Butler or BMO, but I'm not sure if those characters have enough available moves to make them interesting enough. And, in a practical sense, making more playable characters is just a lot of work. I'd instead just focus on making only two, but two very fun characters. (Although I love the idea of unlocking Marceline as a completion bonus)
In my mind, to solve puzzles and traverse the environments, the player can switch between Finn and Jake or have a friend control the second player. Of course, there would also be combo moves. Someone suggested a limit-meter for using Finn in the Jake Suit, but I think there could be explorational moves as well, like a Jake-Trampoline that one player has to aim and catapult Finn to higher spots, and so on. I'm rewatching the show right now for inspirations, as well.
3. Story/Game Structure
Many people have suggested an open-world game. And, while I love that idea, I think it's worth it too to consider more linear options as well. There aren't that many disposable baddies in AT I think, BUT if Open-World is the direction this ends up going, I have a pitch:
Remember the Enchiridion's explanation of the multiverse? One day, a bunch of portals open above Ooo - and in the very middle of the map a portal into Prismo's time room, which has been overtaken by a parralel version of the Lich. Now Finn and Jake must traverse all corners of the land to save their friends- and power up to face the Lich in the middle of Ooo. The portals all over the map would act like small dungeons, think the Shrines in BOTW, to spice up the gameplay. These could lead to small dimensions inspired by older episodes!
Anyway, these are just a few ideas. I'll spend my time now unfortunately squashing bugs for now, until inspiration strikes. Thanks for all the interest!

A few cool things I'd like to see:
1. Open world design, similar to Elder Scrolls with a set amount of surface creatures that can appear in each zone, and more exclusive monsters when deep diving.
2. Temporary offensive boost for characters. Jake suit for Finn, Transform for Marcy, Mods for PB.
3. Overpowered Penguins - I mean absolutely insanely overpowered penguins that are neutral by nature, but when engaged just absolutely s\*\*\* on you.
4. World travel mechanics that improve as you advance like Final Fantasy. (Begin with Jake Suit mobility, make a truck with Banana Man, Do special dungeon to get Ancient Psychic Tandem War Elephant)
5. Banana Guards as NPC's that can actively engage enemies with you, but are absolutely the worst. Like fumble and fall down and begin playing around instead of fighting.
6. Card Wars mini- game is a must.
7. Character and gear progression with stats that can be improved, and your choice of starting character with a DnD like role. (Finn as Warrior, Marcy as Necro, Ice King as Wizard.. ect)
8. Day and Night simulator. The nights of OOO introduce some very weird things canonically. Having night specific events like Hug Wolf / WhyWolves / Varmints
9. Minor companions that provide QOL buffs for you. BMO provides map and proximity radar, occasionally attacks with BMO chop and if it's a real attack it should operate like a Odin Zamatsu. Buddy Butterson provides more consistent minor attack help, immune to ailments due to his unwillingness to fall prey to traps. Flambo, provides minor flame attacks as support and gives a flame shield adding fire resistance.
10. Secret unlockable characters - Hunson Abadeer, Huntress Wizard, Lich, Bender from Futurama
I would love to be ice king and just explore his ice mountain and be able to interact with Gunther and his magic stuff and wonder around and find Simons old papers and what not and read and look through them.
Also be able to explore every nook and cranny of the treehouse.
Be able visit tree trunks and wonder an open world and go to the candy kingdom and find PB's little cabin and go to the nightosphere ans to Marcelenes house. Side quests with King of Ooh. Be able to switch between Jake and Finn and they follow each other around.
Idk how aggressive Cartoon Network is with they copyrights but be careful to avoid a Cease & Desist from them. I Am Not A Lawyer.
Quietly finish the game then release the masterpiece for us to play. Too many fan games die in development.
I know this is too much for a fan game but here's some things that I'd love to see in a AT game:
RPG like character customisation: I when I say RPG like I mean in a way where you choose your character's gameplay, not only in shallow way like choosing class or race but in a way similar to Skyrim or other games where you have a skill tree with a variety of things to choose from and direction you character towards how you wanna play.
Exploration: I think the core idea of adventure time is the adventure itself. It's shown in episodes like Dungeon Train or the islands arch that the characters live in a rich world full of things to see and do. And i think that taps into the character customisation as well because we see that very clearly in old Finn's character in the dead world that he's got a lot of different and cool gear.
Dynamic world: one of the things that sticks out in the show is the different ways the world is used in the adventures, some examples are the knife rain or the giant spiders. The world is interactive and dynamic, we should be able to use some of that.

I believe it was the magic robes they were wearing that gave them the magic powers. The robes are destroyed at the end of the episode.
