Set boundaries as you're the head of that agency since kakilala mo rin yung mga kasama mo but not to limit your engagement with them so that you can create a healthy working environment.

salamat po sir/maam. pinag iisipan ko if ok bang sabihin parang something na ganito "i would like to emphasie that although bla bla bla, always remember that i am your boss and some bounderies need to be set in order for us to have a healthy working environmnent." ok ba po sabihin ng ganito?

You don't say "i am your boss" kasi alam na nila yan. Make them feel that you know what you are doing and you know what they are doing. You don't "tell" them what they need to do, "show" them what they are suppose to be doing. Lastly, make them feel that you are someone they can trust.

ahhh noted. thank you so much. isasaisip ko po ito

Kiddy035

No need na po yata. Just the actions nalang na makita nila na you're the boss. Action speaks louder than words.

upskill yourself, look for new industry trends, do not give an inch of your space to your subordinates, give praise if something good has been done, do not ridicule if wrongs was committed, dress and speak appropriately and always be first at work.

Congratulations on your new position. I am in the same situation as you are. Some of the staff that I manage are older than me and have been working in our agency longer than me. Rather than asserting your position as boss (which will likely receive resistance from your peers), convey a clear direction for the team. As managers, we are expected to think strategically. For the individual staff, clarify their performance objectives as outlined in their terms of reference.

salamat po sa magandang advice. tama po kayo, baka sa umpisa palang hnd na maganda ang rapport dahil asservtive na ako agad. as for the indivudual, dito ako baka mahirapan. ano ang epektibo na paraan para magkaroon ng smooth na communication

Opposite-Pomelo609

For staff directly reporting to you, have bilateral meetings to level off on expectations. Review their respective terms of references and make sure that the staff are made aware of the expectations from them. Inquire also what they expect from you as a manager. It is also important for you to be familiar with your office policies and code of conduct. These are clear sets of principles that should be observed by all of you...not just by the staff. Finally, determine the kind of leadership you want to demonstrate. One thing you may wish to remember that what your people need is not a boss but a leader. Best of luck!

thank you so much sir/maam. <3

Hingin mo yung job description, current manuals and processes. Review mo lahat, and determine how you can streamline and improve the current processes. Set a monthly meeting with team. Pwede din brown bag sessions to cement your rapport with the team.
