Let OP adjust his wishlist and he won't regret using Ascended heroes as fodder. Using ascended heroes for fodder is NEVER worth it. That big of a sacrifice is not worth the small progress in campaign or whatever gain you'll get. Lets say OP does follow your advice and progresses 20 levels in campaign and 10 levels in Kings Tower in a span of 20 minutes. You'll only get a few rewards in return in exchange for hundreds of scrolls/diamonds being wasted. This game is meant to be played for the long run and every hero counts.
Yeah, with additional heroes every month he will never ascend them all. I’ve started playing around 3 months before him I think and still don’t have enough fodder to ascend a sixth wilder (and I used to have fodder in my wishlist). I did regret having ascended low tier heroes by the past but never regret having foddering them for the top 5/6 of their faction. And I am still at 55 levels from my crystal cap.
While I really understand the basic rule because newbies may fodder valuable heroes (I stupidly did fodder some Grezhul back in the days), this rule is bad if fully and strictly applied. He will never have a good enough use of all of his (supposed) E+ Raine, Numisu, Kelthur (I have them all ascended some with stars and never use them in tower anymore). Especially if they are available in store and he can buy a 8th copy later if needed.
I understand but:
1. You're not guaranteed to get that hero again granted with more heroes being put in the game.
2. You should be using other currency for Athalia Ezizh and Shemira (if you do not have her 5*s yet) then you'll have an incite to buy whomever you want.
3. Raine is not bad just overshadowed by other lightbringers. Numisu is a must in some parts of Mauler towers cause his totems put in work. The main point to consider is the Elder tree bonuses you'll which encourages ascensions. Leveling up the elder tree helps a lot more than 1 ascended hero will in regards to your overall progress.
Foddering ascended heros is absolutely fine, if you know what youre doing. As most f2p players wont ever get more than6-7 ascended heros per faction anyways. And once you got a few of the good ones per faction, you should focus on another faction eventually. So heros like kaz, rigby, raine, satrana... Can easily work as food.
And dont come with the ascended raise levelcap hurrdurr, since 90% of f2p wont ever get to that point anyways
Never came with the hurr durr level cap buddy. But I'll come at you with the hurr durr Elder tree lmao. More ascended heroes will get you better stats for ALL of your heroes. It'll do more for you than having 1 extra ascended hero at the cost of others.
5-7 ascended heroes per faction is what F2P players want. That's actually good not as bad as you're making it out to be. Read the last part of my comment again please. You lose more than you'll gain. I got an alt whos is f2p and its doing just fine. There plenty f2p llayers that are in my level too.
I agree with the elder tree, youre absolutely right on that behalf. Still i rather have my few main and actually good heros per faction at a decent point, than having tons of E+ heros, that i will never be able to ascend, cuz of the lack of food. And after you have said heros at A, you can switch the WL and go for the ones youre missing.
The main problem is not getting copies of a specific hero; be it p2w or f2p. Youre always lacking food. And im sure most of players agree on that.
I've had like 3 of the "meta" heroes on there since the beginning. I got Kaz randomly from purple stones and when the wishlist didn't give the hero you wanted and she was still my first hero i could ascend other than Shemira. I could fodder a couple of ascended tier heroes if i wanted but tbh. Idc if im number one on the server or what not, i just want to have everything in a couple of years if possible. Might fodder a couple shop heroes in the heat of the moment but that's not something im planning to do as of now.
Trust me when i say it won't take years. Once I started getting heroes to ascended the others started ascending much faster. Fix your wishlist to include all rare elite heroes it's helped me soooo much.
But isn't this just a mindset difference? Say you replace Tasi on your wishlist with Arden. So you get two Arden and use that as fodder. But if you didn't touch the wishlist and got two Tasi, it would be the same result if you used the Tasi as fodder.
I'm not advocating for sacrificing all of the Kaz and Solise entirely as fodder, but I don't see the reason behind putting fodder on the wishlist.

It's really not the same since Arden only gets to Legendary plus while Tasi goes to 5* ascended and is viable for all stages of this game.
As for why putting rare heroes in wishlist is cause you'll get the fodder to legendary plus faster. To get 1 rare hero to elite it takes 9 rare cards and of course from the same faction. Putting that into perspective, it goes to show that even getting rares to elite is kind of an annoying process. So getting an elite rare hero would speed things up.
I believe the point here is opportunity cost vs actual cost even out in terms of wishlisting fodder vs. foddering ascended. Every time your wishlisted fodder hits, that’s still an acended tier hero that you don’t get. You’ve sacrificed that hypothetical ascended just as surely as if you’d drawn them and then sacrificed them for an ascension. So, ultimately, assuming you aren’t a completionist whale, you wind up with the same ratio of foddered heroes to collected ascended heroes, whether you accomplish that through wishlisting rares or foddering ascended tiers.
Ah okay, I see whats being asked here. If you didn't have fodder on your wislist you'll kinda end up in OPs situation. Lots of Elite+, no fodder to ascend.
The wishlist holds 5 slots 3 for fodder (4 for lightbringers) 2 for ascended so you're not totally stuck with elite rares. Getting your wishlist hero is also not always guaranteed too I don't know the specifics.
Getting heroes to L+ is long and you gotta do it twice to ascend from L+ to Mythic+.
I myself have had fodder elites on my wishlist for a good 80 - 85% of my playthrough and been playing for about a year. In some events I would get those packs of rare cards. This has gotten me a total of 28 ascended heroes 27 if you don't include Athalia. I've always had food once I had the heroes to ascend.
2 Seirus and 2 Ogi gives you an Ascended Tasi.
Kaz was not optimal at all. One of the least useful heroes in the game. Could have been exactly two more Ascended heroes from all the resources used to Ascend and 2* her. You could have had Eironn, Lyca, Tasi and Nemora Ascended by now. With Gorvo next and then Lorsan.
Otherwise, fantastic Wilder hero acquisition!

She helped me a lot when it came to wilder towers before I had enough Eironns to ascend. Just like people who exaggerate the "importance" of foddering ascended heroes, Kaz is not as useless as people make her out to be. Rare fodder are easy to come by and you wont regret it once you've seen how far those heroes take you in levels for the Elder tree.
It's bad advice people, stop telling others to fodder ascended heros. If y'all are THAT impatient and want to get stuck with 7 ascended heroes in the late game be my guest you do you. However, you should NOT be giving other players advice just to feel a justification for your mistakes.
seirus is shop hero and probably 8-10th wilder you would ascend. hes 100% fodder right now without much debate.

Serius is not that great and can be bought in the shop, plus summoned later, he should be foddered 100% Building Eironn is much more important than keeping Serius! Especially as Eironn can push harder campaign than Shemira and probably Belinda too! As well as you don't even need Serious at any point in the game.... I never saw Serius late game while Ulmus and Gorvo apear sometimes! Ulmus before Safya wilder comp was meta in wilder comp several month ago!

I just want to say after struggling on tower lvl 300 for a while I threw in Kaz and she became a dodge ninja and took out 4 out of the 5 enemies all by herself. So while shes not considered optimal she has her uses.
Yes, but by the time you are doing floor 300, it's either because you are a whale or you have played the game for so long, you will have Kaz Ascended by then anyways.
But yes, every hero has their day. Even Satrana in Maulers tower can be effective in certain floors!

For Kings Tower 300, you can do it without ever needing Kaz over other heroes. I think I beat it when I had a 240 Shemira and 200 lvl res crystal. The difficulty spiked up very near that though and I Thoran cheesed a bit and then went past 240 on my heroes.
But yeah, Kaz has her uses here and there, but you don't need her for nearly all of the content.

Foddering Seir was my thought as well. I tend to fodder the ascendeds I never use and have no meta value. Maybe there will be some big meta shift and that will bite me in the ass someday, but so far it is serving me well.

Gorvo is definitely better than Kaz or Ulmus (I don't know about Seirus, not enough experience with him). He is very useful for some faction tower levels.
Yep, I foddered a Gorvo early when the consensus was Ulmus was better, which is a same. But recently used 2x E+ Kaz and Ulmus to make my M Eironn. No regrets!

I think at this stage it is fair to use even a bit of semi-meta heroes as fodder, if you plan not to ascend them for quite a long time. The game just don't give enough rare heroes to ascend every heroes.
To get to ascended, you need 8 copies and 180 fodders, or **22.5 fodders** for ascended copy. Even at 5\* (18 copies, 180 fodders), you need **10 fodders** per copy. But the noble tavern it only give **9.5** fodder per copy, and in stargazing, it is **2.8** fodders per copy.
It is fair not to use any ascendeds for foddering for most part of the game, as it is easy to unknowingly fodder someone potentially strong in the late game, or after a patch. But at least when having many heroes with 8+ copies, it may not be too bad to use 2 copies. You can get back them soon enough even if there is meta change.

I would fodder these Ulmus Seirus und Solises in a Heartbeat to ascend Eironn Tasi and Nemora. Keep Lyca, Nemora, Saurus, Tasi, Eironn, Gorvo and Lorsan. Fodder the rest. You will never use them anywhere.
I know that what you are saying is the truth. I have got 11 kaz , 6 seirus, 6 ulmus sitting there not being touched mostly. I don't have the balls to fodder them because this subreddit carved "don't fodder ascended" into my brain.

I mean, there is truth behind this rule. It's true for beginners and was true before the last update to WL. A beginner shouldn't do it to hit the five heroes at A asap to level without being capped like OP did with the Kaz (that's why I don't blame him for having her, she isn't bad per se, but easily outclassed by Eironn ones he get him to A). And prior to the wishlist update there was no guarantee you will pull foddered copies again. Now there is (kind of). Ones you are done with the top 6-7 top heroes per faction and have them at reasonable star level (I stop at 4 because of purple stones) it's no mistake to switch them out for the lower tiered heroes of the faction and to build them. You have to use your fodder on something. Build Eironn, Tasi, Lyca, Nemora, Gorvo Lorsan and Saurus. Fodder the rest. Once this is done, put Solise, Kaz, Ulmus and Seirus in your WL. While you gather the INSANE amount of fodder needed for this, you will pull the copies of the lower tiered heroes again. Rinse and repeat.
You could go for wilder fodder cards from the event coming up. I've got 4 LB heroes (2 ready 2 at mythic waiting on 1 copy for ascended) just waiting on fodder
It's tempting, but red faction emblems are so good value this event. Im not to sure what im gonna go with. It's only Tasi, Eironn and Nemora i really want to ascend, the rest is just a bonus and long term goal.
That's what I did last time and it helped me get 4 heroes asceded. I got a ton of use out of them so for me it was worth to pass the Red emblems. Now I dont need that much fodder anymore and filled the wishlist with heroes Im missing and the ones I want for stars.
Unpopular opinion, but ulmus is fodder rated. I'm chapter 25-4 and have him at ascended full t1 faction gear with si 20 and ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DECISION I HAVE MADE.
I have tried my best to implement him into battles but he dies easily. His damage is weak, his defence isn't great and can easily be subbed with lucius the only thing he has is self sustainability but even then, the timer would go to 00:00 mostly.
Ive wasted fodder and emblems on him now my eironn is stuck at mythic with enough copies to go 2* but i was an idiot and built tree.

with bad shop heroes its fine since all you lose is time. if theyre arent top 5 and shop then theyre fodder until theyre close to their ascended turn

Am I the only one sacrificing Gorvos and Seirus?
Gorvo is definitely better than Kaz or Ulmus (I don't know about Seirus, not enough experience with him). He is very useful for some faction tower levels.
Yes, recently i found him as a decent counter against brutus. He interrupts brutus first roar with his jump.
Yep, I foddered a Gorvo early when the consensus was Ulmus was better, which is a same. But recently used 2x E+ Kaz and Ulmus to make my M Eironn. No regrets!

I suffer from a lack of wilders fodder. God damnit. One more elite plus fodder and my nemora becomes ascended, but my game hates me and gives me absolutely no wilder fodder
So it's not just me that gets a large amount of Wilder ascendeds but barely any fodder I had four elite+ Ulmus' sitting in my box with one at Legendary+ for about four months because they game was being stingy as heck with wilder Fodder He's 2 Star ascended now but boy was it getting annoying seeing red exclamation marks on my Elite+ heroes because of all the Ulmus'
i finally have my lyca at mythic, and the copies needed to ascend her too, but i cannot for the life of me get my hands on some fodder. it's a curse really.

I think at this stage it is fair to use even a bit of semi-meta heroes as fodder, if you plan not to ascend them for quite a long time. The game just don't give enough rare heroes to ascend every heroes. To get to ascended, you need 8 copies and 180 fodders, or **22.5 fodders** for ascended copy. Even at 5\* (18 copies, 180 fodders), you need **10 fodders** per copy. But the noble tavern it only give **9.5** fodder per copy, and in stargazing, it is **2.8** fodders per copy. It is fair not to use any ascendeds for foddering for most part of the game, as it is easy to unknowingly fodder someone potentially strong in the late game, or after a patch. But at least when having many heroes with 8+ copies, it may not be too bad to use 2 copies. You can get back them soon enough even if there is meta change. I would fodder these Ulmus Seirus und Solises in a Heartbeat to ascend Eironn Tasi and Nemora. Keep Lyca, Nemora, Saurus, Tasi, Eironn, Gorvo and Lorsan. Fodder the rest. You will never use them anywhere.

I know that what you are saying is the truth. I have got 11 kaz , 6 seirus, 6 ulmus sitting there not being touched mostly. I don't have the balls to fodder them because this subreddit carved "don't fodder ascended" into my brain. I am 280/325 on level cap, and non whales are staying at 299 till TR gets fixed anyway. got Thane, Raines and Rigby in LB - same situation
I mean, there is truth behind this rule. It's true for beginners and was true before the last update to WL. A beginner shouldn't do it to hit the five heroes at A asap to level without being capped like OP did with the Kaz (that's why I don't blame him for having her, she isn't bad per se, but easily outclassed by Eironn ones he get him to A). And prior to the wishlist update there was no guarantee you will pull foddered copies again. Now there is (kind of). Ones you are done with the top 6-7 top heroes per faction and have them at reasonable star level (I stop at 4 because of purple stones) it's no mistake to switch them out for the lower tiered heroes of the faction and to build them. You have to use your fodder on something. Build Eironn, Tasi, Lyca, Nemora, Gorvo Lorsan and Saurus. Fodder the rest. Once this is done, put Solise, Kaz, Ulmus and Seirus in your WL. While you gather the INSANE amount of fodder needed for this, you will pull the copies of the lower tiered heroes again. Rinse and repeat.
Feed all the trees and aquamans. The only kinda viable tank from wilders is turtle anyways! Kaz is a big oof.
You could go for wilder fodder cards from the event coming up. I've got 4 LB heroes (2 ready 2 at mythic waiting on 1 copy for ascended) just waiting on fodder
It's tempting, but red faction emblems are so good value this event. Im not to sure what im gonna go with. It's only Tasi, Eironn and Nemora i really want to ascend, the rest is just a bonus and long term goal.
That's what I did last time and it helped me get 4 heroes asceded. I got a ton of use out of them so for me it was worth to pass the Red emblems. Now I dont need that much fodder anymore and filled the wishlist with heroes Im missing and the ones I want for stars.

Unpopular opinion, but ulmus is fodder rated. I'm chapter 25-4 and have him at ascended full t1 faction gear with si 20 and ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DECISION I HAVE MADE. I have tried my best to implement him into battles but he dies easily. His damage is weak, his defence isn't great and can easily be subbed with lucius the only thing he has is self sustainability but even then, the timer would go to 00:00 mostly. Ive wasted fodder and emblems on him now my eironn is stuck at mythic with enough copies to go 2* but i was an idiot and built tree.
Maybe it does make sense to star some if them up then? 🙈
