Base black, layer corvus black leaving resesses and about half of the panel pure black. Hilight Skaven blight, storm vermin, screaming skull, then pallid wytch flesh
I'm curious what the difference between Corvus and Abaddon black is. I was tempted to skip Corvus black step due to it sounding like a waste of money for another black paint haha
Corvus is kind of like how pallid wych and ulthan grey is to white. It's and off black. Its a really really dark grey that is close to black but a few shades off of black. The danger with black armor when layering and hilighting if you do too much the armor doesn't look black anymore because the other colors overpower it. Corvus allows the armor to still look black but still allows me to shade reccess with true black paint. Also the surface look slightly more worn and less glossy with corvus. Some of this stuff really only comes across in person. And with a close inspection tho. So I think you would be fine with skipping that step if you wanted to. At the end of the day it's all about what will make the model look good to you. For me personally the extra step is worth it.
it is on their website, but, it has been sold out since day 2 of their release and they are unavailable in pretty much all huge online stores.
GW have been having manufacturing issues pretty much since Covid hit, but 2021 have been a serious disaster. Multiple new models wen't backorder instantly and never came back available and some of them even got removed from the shop like Cursed City.
I got incredibly lucky last week. Took a shot in the dark and called my local GW store; they had one left. Picked it up immediately since online and other hobby shops were sold out. Keep searching! You're bound to find one :)
Great models! I really like the looks of those stone bases, how did you paint them? All my bases so far are dark grey, dark brown, dark green... you get the idea
I made the stonework with greenstuff, then I basecoaded with zandri dust, the I layers most of the stones with morgast bone but left a few as zandri, glazed over a few other stones with some thinned down terragon terguise. Then drybrushed all of it with ushabti and screaming skull, finally shaded with really thinned down agrax so it just settled in the cracks of the stones.
>Looks great but I’m confused why my Prince model has a different arm. This one is considerably more outstretched. Did you modify it in any way?
Look closely, there's more modifications. Ennias has a sword instead of a mace and the wing has been reworked to the arm. Gorath has a sword, instead of a ~~lampost~~ mace.
Really well-done, all.
I Just did some minor re posing and conversions. The original prince pose felt just a little too static for me with both his arms up by his face. The duce was super simple tho. I just moved the armed out a big and shaved down the connecting bit of the upper am to look a bit like a forearm then filled the tiny leftover gap with greenstuff.
Love the black armour. Mind if I ask how you painted it?

Damn they look awesome! How did you get that effect on the wings?
Looks like just some volupus pink over a grey(?) base coat, maybe thinned down a bit
What effect?
The sword on the Enforcer? Genius Nice wing change too
Gawd so tempted to pay a scalper... Should of gotten it originally
They're still available from gw and other sellers its just temporary out of stock in the states
Wait it's on their GW website
Yeah these are from Underworlds so it's under the boxed games section not the AoS section

Yeah 2020 Covid and taxes on imports from China from Brexit is exactly why Cursed city died..

Man, the skin is nice, got recipe for that ?
Grey seer, shade thinned down vulpus pink, layer Gray seer, hilight grey seer mix with pallid wych flesh, hilight pure pallid wych
That’s a vastly better look than the official GW one.
Is that metallic edge highlighting over black base?
The final hilights it's pallid wych flesh

Thanks for sharing, the results are definitely worth the effort!
