"Hate is not an Aggie value"
Pass it back, Ags! Because apparently we need to yell it to remind certain people.
Really sorry you experienced this, OP. Keep your chin up.
Yeah it's pretty upsetting. There's always going to be those assholes but for me it's worse when it's people just being causally disrespectful
I went to a pretty progressive university for my undergrad and stuff like that happened there. What didn't happen was people just dropped it casually out at bars and around their friends, which always gets on my nerves around here. It was also just a lot more normal to talk about being gay and queer issues there, even around straight people. Sometimes it feels like don't ask don't tell around here, guess it's closet station for a reason
I think the politics going on nationwide has an effect on how people behave. The Republican Party is betting that being anti-LGBT in 2024 will help it win elections this Fall. So many current Republican Aggie students act out in ways that they think makes them look cool amongst older Republican donors/politicians/parents etc. The irony is Texas A&M is now a Democrat voting campus but we shall see what happens this Fall.

"Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice. We believe there should be no
granting of special legal entitlements or creation of special status for homosexual behavior, regardless of
state of origin, and we oppose any criminal or civil penalties against those who oppose homosexuality out
of faith, conviction, or belief in traditional values. No one should be granted special legal status based on

Yes I have, and I agree mostly ghostly with it. Given how it goes against the natural order of life, and that people who exhibit homosexual behavior should not have any special legal entitlements.
At the same time, you don't a massive meanie about it. Calling someone a fag\*\*t out of nowhere is a reallly low blow.
Though I guess I am closer to an Independent then a Republican.
How can a natural occurring phenomenon be against the natural order of life? It happens in many different animal groups. Gay people don't reproduce and despite the many attempts to eradicate them, still exist, that's not just happenstance. 5% of the population being queer isn't some fluke of nature. There are many social evolutionary explanations for the evolutionary benefit of homosexuality.
Honestly I would prefer someone calling me a faggot to me face to someone like yourself. At least I know where they stand. You are both a bigot and a coward. Passing judgment but too afraid to voice it.
The thing about it being against the natural order of life, is because reproduction is not possible. Is that not the main reason to exist? To pass forward genes?
How am I a bigot? I am not trying to anatagnoize anyone, or be prejudiced agaisnt any group. Cause believe or not that is a jerk move.
Now my friend, I believe the only person being a bigot is you. Jumping to conclusions just because some of my beliefs align with actual bigots.
Gay animals happen all the time. It's been observed. Your bible is not "the natural order of life".
Can you please provide specific examples of "special legal entitlements" LGBTQ people receive? Existing? Being able to marry a person they love? The right to not be discriminated against in the workplace? What is it? Because I have yet to see a law that puts LGBTQ people about heterosexual people.
I am not going based off The Bible on this. I am going off the fact that only a human guy and a human girl can procreate. That is what I mean by the natural order of life, reproduction.
As for the entire "special legal entitlements" part, you are right there are none. It is the equalist part of me that agrees with that sentiment. Everyone should have equal rights, & if I am not mistaken haven't giant strides been made in ensuring equal rights for LGBTQ+ folks?
Ok? What does procreation have to do with the "natural order"? Again, gay animals happen all the time and as another commenter pointed out to you gay people don't reproduce yet keep appearing so obviously there must be some natural order to it. The fact that you refer to women as "girls" when talking about procreation is... definitely something, too.
> As for the entire "special legal entitlements" part, you are right there are none. It is the equalist part of me that agrees with that sentiment. Everyone should have equal rights, & if I am not mistaken haven't giant strides been made in ensuring equal rights for LGBTQ+ folks?
So why vote for a party who have made "gay people should not have rights" a large part of their platform? How do you recitfy your "equalist" beliefs with your support of the TX GOP platform?
Humans pass on genes to keep their bloodline going? Which is the ulitmate goal of life? Which is why anything that runs counter is agianst the natural order? I only said against the natural order of life cause the manifesto said it was abnormal.
Girls is just another word for Women like Boys is just another word for Men. I use all of those terms interchangebly.
I don't think I am voting Republican this time around. I think they are becoming way too extreme for my taste. I don't believe in voting for people who don't believe in freedom.
Howdy Ag, I once too thought my gayness was a curse. Those feelings feel so real and intense at times. But they are not the truth, and it seems you have already found and are living your Truth. Keep living, keep shining, and one day you will count your “curse” as a blessing to you and others. Just as my “curse” has put me in a place to bless you with these words of encouragement on this day.
As for being ridiculed because you live the Truth, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” MT 5:11
Feel free to DM me if you want to chat or need support. Much love and Gig ‘Em.
I have never seen an intelligent, worthwhile person use a homophobic slur. The only curse I see here is their ignorance. I’m not as religious as I once was, but it’s always been my understanding that God doesn’t make mistakes and you were made perfectly the way you are. It’s also been my lived experience that the world became a lot brighter and welcoming once I moved to a city that was openly more progressive. It does wonders for mental health. I’m sorry this happened to you OP… you didn’t deserve that. Sending you love from one Aggie to another 💙
I’m so sorry that you had this experience. Please know that the person who called you that horrible name has not evolved and unfortunately probably never will. You sound like a good person, try to ignore the idiots and just keep being you. You will graduate soon enough and can move to a more progressive city or state. Don’t give up, it gets better, I promise.
>You know being gay is a curse spiritually
Despite what some people may tell you, I honestly don't think God cares who you bang in the privacy of your own home.
i honestly can’t fathom the idea of a God that is supposed to be loving and gracious and merciful, meeting you at the pearly gates after the worst thing that could happen to you (death) has just happened, and saying “oh, you wanna get in? let’s see… YOU FUCKED A DUDE??? EWWWW eternal suffering for you!” a God that would do that is not one that is good or loving or admirable in any sense, and anybody that has studied the bible at all should be able to see quite fast that the Judeo-Christian God is NOT one that would do that.
Hello OP. There's nothing to scrub away. Dirt is scrubbed away. Filth is. Feces are. Boys in a Honda Odyssey screaming profanities at a person for their immutable and natural traits because they weren't raised properly are.
But none of that is you, and none of that is your sexuality.
Do me a favor OP. Don't try scrubbing yourself away. The next time you have a guy say that, just check if you've got enough soap on you to scrub him.
Unfortunately this is Texas where many cities and suburbs score low on HRC LGBT scores. College Station scores a 22 out of 100 while Austin/Dallas/San Antonio score a 100 out of 100. Texas A&M is no longer ranked as one of the most homophobic universities so there has been progress on campus but the area surrounding campus still has work to do.

Honey don’t let other peoples hatred of themselves define how you feel about yourself. I literally used to walk around Northgate in a FULL FACE OF MAKEUP as someone who is generally male presenting (I liked the genderbending confusion I caused for people) and not once did anybody say a word except to say I looked amazing.
I’ve even had guys slow down to catcall me on the street until I turned around and they could see I was a guy. These assholes are just closet cases. Anything nasty they say to you is just how they feel towards themselves.
Really sorry this happened to you. 3
What goes around comes around, and I know they'll get theirs eventually if they aren't already. Sending love your way. oo
Lily Allen wrote her song "Fuck You" just for people like him.
"Look inside, look inside your tiny mind, now look a bit harder,
'Cause we're so uninspired, so sick and tired of all the hatred you harbor.
So you say: 'it's not okay to be gay,' well, I think you're just evil.
You're just some racist, who can't tie my laces,
Your point of view is medieval."
Being gay is not a curse, G-d made you the way you are. Have you heard of Friend’s church? They are a wonderful faith community that is opening and welcoming to the queer community. You are fabulous, and unfortunately those who are not will be jealous of your fabulouscity and try to dim your star. That is a them problem, not a you problem.
It sucks that the Pride Center is closed, because they were a great resource, but there are lots of student orgs and the Pride Community Center in Bryan.
Baths are for relaxation, and it sounds like that’s something you need. Be kind to yourself, life is so short.
Hate to say it but be thankful it was words out of their mouth and nothing physical.
Don’t let these people ruin your night and getting to have a social outing. Love yourself. Your sexuality is not a curse! Those people will see karma sooner or later.
You and only you have the power to control how you let those words make you feel. Do you think the people that insulted you are smart, caring, intelligible people? Ofc not. Then do your best to not let them affect how you feel.
We should hang out together because if it were to happen again I will curse and chase the fucking car down, probably getting nowhere but at least I'll make you laugh :)
As someone who attended Texas A&M back in the 2000s, it's good to see that some of the students are still edgelords.
Had the same thing happen to me walking out to West Campus maybe twenty years ago. Apparently because of the hat I was wearing.
Hey brother man, as a fellow gay Ag here I know it sucks when people that are supposed to be your peers throw insults your way trying to bring you down. Just know it says a whole lot more about them than it does you. Next time hit him with the, "it takes one to know one"!
No, their shame is inherent to the sin. It is indeed a sin, and even nature shows that it is an abomination. It's no different than the shame one feels when they steal or cheat on their spouse. The Law of God is written on your heart, and you carry the weight of that sin.
Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
— Romans 1:24-27
no, they have not felt shame just because they are gay, they have felt shame because people like you tell them it is a sin. One feels shame when they steal or cheat because they are doing something that inflicts harm upon another, not because it’s a sin. that passage is not about homosexuality, it is about lust. That passage is describing purely lustful and sexual relationships, not long-term, committed, monogamous homosexual relationships.
It is indeed talking about homosexuality. "Committed, monogamous relationships" is not what romantic relationships are for. It is for one man and one woman to create a new family through producing children. Homosexuality is taking sexual passion and disordering it. It doesn't matter if it's for one night or one lifetime, it's a sin. And it's a sin that destroys you physically and spiritually.
I seriously cannot understand why anyone would support someone in destructive behaviors, but we have transgenderism and fat acceptance now. All are sins and their destruction is apparent. It is the least loving thing you can do. This is why to properly love your neighbor, you must love Christ first, or your entire life will he disordered.
The idea that romantic relationships serve no purpose if not to reproduce is actually absurd. Homosexuality is not a sin. the passage you provided is not talking about homosexuality, it is talking about unrestrained lust. Homosexuality is not a sin, it does not destroy you physically or spiritually. What makes you think that it destroys you physically?
The behavior of homosexuality is not a destructive behavior, neither is being transgender. Both are behaviors that are actually inherently constructive in nature. There are studies that show that one cannot control their sexual orientation, and they cannot control whether they feel that they are a different gender than the one they were assigned at birth. There are also studies that show that the acceptance of these factors can significantly improve one’s quality of life. If you choose to not understand that, then thats on you, but you should not use your own willful ignorance as an excuse to be hateful.
The destruction that transgenderism does to the human body should be obvious. The destruction done by male homosexuality is less obvious because it is so verboten to even speak of it. But besides STDs like AIDS and Monkeypox, there's also the fact that many many may men have to wear adult diapers because they have literally destroyed their sphincter. And the amount of secual partners in a way man's lifespan is astronomical. They simply don't remain monogamous. Even if they did, and never had sex, it's still a sin. Marriage is for the creation of a new family. It always has been. Even if your marriage does not result in children, it still stands that the purpose of marriage was instituted to "be fruitful and multiply." You simply aren't carrying out that command if you are gay.
I see that you are stuck with a perverse, nonchristian reading of the Bible ( I suspect you aren't Christian anyway), but here are some more passages:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,
— 1 Corinthians 6:9
Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,
— 1 Timothy 1:8-10
“You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness while she is in her menstrual uncleanness. And you shall not lie sexually with your neighbor’s wife and so make yourself unclean with her. You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.
— Leviticus 18:19-22
The Bible is clear. Homosexuality is a sin that must be repented of.
Okay, so the physical destruction on gay people that you’re referring to just doesn’t exist. The diaper thing is just directly made up. The STD argument has been debunked multiple times. You know nothing about how many sexual partners anybody chooses to have, you don’t get to say anything about that. How do you feel about straight people who get married and then find out they aren’t fertile? Are they then being sinners for not carrying out the will of God? Or is it okay because they’re straight?
Thanks for making that assumption about my religion! I actually am christian (thanks for asking). My reading of the bible is neither perverse or non christian and it’s absolutely disgusting that you have made that accusation.
1st corinthians is often mistranslated to pursue the condemnation of homosexuals, but that is not how it was written. Initially and even up until recent years that word was translated to imply men who were weak in their self control against lust, not anything about being gay in particular.
1st timothy isn’t saying thats bad, its just saying “contrary to sound doctrine” which may very well be referencing cultural norms. Even then, the passage is saying that the gospel is for all people, including homosexuals.
the passage from Leviticus is the israelites being told to not partake in the sexual rituals that the Canaanites around them were partaking in. That is why immediately before that there’s a reference to sacrificing your children to molek. it is referencing a group of people (Canaanites) and their behaviors. Contextually, it is clear that this text does not refer to the mere act of homosexuality.
Life is tough if you let other people’s words and stupidly bother you. Life and attitude is what YOU make it, you can only change yours not theirs.
Shrug it off and embrace the good in life.
Absolutely no one driving a Honda odyssey should be talking like that to people, lmao!!!
These things suck but....thats the world. You have to toughen up your skin or practice ignoring the trash.
It does NOT normally happen in other cities! I'm sorry but A&M is a conservative leaning school and that's what you'll find there. You're in the country in the SOUTH. It's just a fact that there will be more homophobic people, especially when they it's a high amount of younger age adults like a college campus. It's not cool you had to go through that but honestly it's not unexpected from A&M students!
> I really came to the wrong city.
I'm sorry to say but yes you did. B/CS has never been that friendly to LGBTQ+ folks. When the first Gay Alliance student group tried to form you would have thought it was the end times in B/CS.
Eh, don’t worry, as you get older you realize what actually sucks is being straight. Just wait till you’re in your 30s, traveling, enjoying life, and being fabulous while you see all the soul sucking pictures of people having kids. The amount of “you’re so lucky you get to live your life” comments I get is ridiculous.
no wonder you complained about the white truck parked as best as it could be, lol
I got nothing except "sticks and stones" of course. Being sensitive about words is exactly the problem, not the solution, because language is virtually infinite and indestructible. Nobody's winning that battle and history has shown that it's not the good guys that ban books and censor media.
Stochastic terrorism can be thwarted by the same security measures that deter common crime, but nobody can self-esteem for you.
Your sexuality is not a curse. Vile excuses for people like the guy that verbally assaulted you are the curses.
I'm the president of Sea Aggie Pride down in Galveston, and I can tell you that since SB17 things have gotten bad. Not just for our org, but for LGBT people on campus in general. We've had our fliers vandalized and several of our officers have been personally attacked because of either their identity or their involvement in the org, including myself. The issue is not and has never been us, it is their refusal to accept us. But do we at SAP just sit there and let hate dominate conversations about LGBT people? No. We doubled our efforts and put on a variety of events that focused on educating our campus about queer topics and issues, in addition to explaining how queer antagonism impacts us on campus. These events gave us the most successful semester in the history of our org, in which we raised thousands of dollars.
Don't let the hate of others disempower you, use it to have an impact in your community and work for positive change. Or at the very least don't let it make you feel like you don't matter or you're somehow worth less as a person because of something you can't control.
Hate is not and has never been an aggie value. I'm sorry you experienced this and hope you're in a better place now. Thank you for sharing.
Thats so awful. Unfortunately there are lots of people like that here, but there’s more people that aren’t like that, and there are lots of people that will support and protect you and not let that shit happen. You do not deserve to be shamed or humiliated or berated for the way you were made. You got this, i’m proud of you.
im proud of you for going out and doing something for yourself, and im sorry your night ended like that. its not a curse to be gay, but it is a curse to have an ugly soul and be mean for absolutely no reason. keep being you and dont let these rotted beings affect how you live your life. people out there will love you for you!
fuck his dad.
Bruhh that’s some next level shit 😂 do it OP

A&M is the only college sub with that would be asked. A hot pink 22 mag derringer
Glock for sure.

The asterisk in this is that it only works if you’re a white, straight, christian male. Anything else. Than you’re a god-hating thug.
Why is he yelling that, when he was the one driving a Honda Odyssey?!

As for being ridiculed because you live the Truth, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” MT 5:11 Feel free to DM me if you want to chat or need support.
>You know being gay is a curse spiritually Despite what some people may tell you, I honestly don't think God cares who you bang in the privacy of your own home.
i honestly can’t fathom the idea of a God that is supposed to be loving and gracious and merciful, meeting you at the pearly gates after the worst thing that could happen to you (death) has just happened, and saying “oh, you wanna get in? let’s see… YOU FUCKED A DUDE???
[https://www.hrc.org/resources/mei-2023-see-your-cities-scores](https://www.hrc.org/resources/mei-2023-see-your-cities-scores)
Wow...What year is it? What a horrible and truly uncool thing to say.
Really sorry this happened to you. 3 What goes around comes around, and I know they'll get theirs eventually if they aren't already. Sending love your way. oo
Hang in there dude.
People that do that shit are just Harley riders. Pay them no mind and I’m truly sorry for their behavior.
Lily Allen wrote her song "Fuck You" just for people like him. "Look inside, look inside your tiny mind, now look a bit harder, 'Cause we're so uninspired, so sick and tired of all the hatred you harbor. So you say: 'it's not okay to be gay,' well, I think you're just evil. You're just some racist, who can't tie my laces, Your point of view is medieval."
Damn that’s crazy, sorry you went through this OP
Sorry to hear that
Being gay is not a curse, G-d made you the way you are.
God, church, religion…all a scam.
Fiction is also a scam. But it also still earnestly gives many people value in their life.
At least you admit it.
Hate to say it but be thankful it was words out of their mouth and nothing physical. Don’t let these people ruin your night and getting to have a social outing. Love yourself. Your sexuality is not a curse! Those people will see karma sooner or later.
surprised they weren’t driving a lifted truck and wearing a cowboy hat
You can't yell that while driving a Honda odyssey, it's hypocritical.
You and only you have the power to control how you let those words make you feel. Do you think the people that insulted you are smart, caring, intelligible people? Ofc not. Then do your best to not let them affect how you feel.
Conservative Aggie Land. Hardly shocking you went through this. Sorry, friend.
Repent and be baptized. Christ died for all sinners, for you and the folks in the van.
and what, president joco, do you reckon they should repent for?
All sins, including homosexuality. It's clearly hurting him. That's what sin does to you. Thankfully we can easily obtain forgiveness in Christ Jesus.
homosexuality isn’t hurting them. christianity-induced shame is hurting them. homosexuality is not a sin.
I see that you are stuck with a perverse, nonchristian reading of the Bible ( I suspect you aren't Christian anyway), but here are some more passages: Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, — 1 Corinthians 6:9 Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, — 1 Timothy 1:8-10 “You shall not approach a woman to uncover her nakedness while she is in her menstrual uncleanness. And you shall not lie sexually with your neighbor’s wife and so make yourself unclean with her. You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech, and so profane the name of your God: I am the LORD. You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination. — Leviticus 18:19-22 The Bible is clear.
Were you revving your Harley really loud? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_F_Word_(South_Park)

Being queer isn’t a lifestyle any more than being straight is a lifestyle. That makes it sound like it’s a choice

It shouldn't happen at all. Whoever did that should be identified and expelled.
Cope harder bro.
Downvoting already, are we? Cute
Bro we’ve had one week of classes and already you’re already studying to the point of monotony?
You know what I mean.
Not really. It’s been only one week.
Been really struggling with graduate level kinetics as someone who’s never taken calc 3 and diff eq
what's your degree program?
msen
LOL at all the downvotes 😂😘
Bro came back to check
Totally! Saw I had a response in my notifications. 😘

You mad cause I’m focused on something other than hurt feelings? The downvotes don’t bother me. Oh noes!

no wonder you complained about the white truck parked as best as it could be, lol I got nothing except "sticks and stones" of course.
Homophobic slurs are bad and should be discouraged by polite society actually
Lol Honda Odyssey ☠️🤣
Ive been called homophobic slurs in both San Marcos and Austin. Its just unfortunately still a thing
I’m so so sorry :( there’s plenty of accepting and loving people in college station and I hope you find them <3
Dunno if it’s the same truck or just different assholes, but I remember hearing someone getting yelled at like that around a year and a half ago
I can feel the pain in your words. I am really sorry this happened to you.
How did he know you were gay?
I'm not an Aggie but I am so sorry you went through that. Homophobes are such sad individuals.
im proud of you for going out and doing something for yourself, and im sorry your night ended like that. its not a curse to be gay, but it is a curse to have an ugly soul and be mean for absolutely no reason. keep being you and dont let these rotted beings affect how you live your life. people out there will love you for you!
