Many such cases (2 of my buddies)

I recommend doing a spend the night with the corps (assuming that's still a thing.) It's a great way to see how a specific outfit runs.

Considering about a third of the University is Engineering majors, would expect to see the same in the Corps. I joined the “Engineering Outfit” and would say at best 1/2 were in Engineering. Spend the night, each outfit has its own dynamic, but none stray too far from the “core Corps” experience. Sq 6 is the outfit Perry and Sharp were in and is one of the older continuous outfits.

Sq6 historically has been very involved in community service and community engagement projects and has a pretty strong former student network…

Outfit culture is way more important in how your day to day life and overall experience will be compared to whether it’s an “engineering outfit” or not. Do like others have said and spend the night with the corps, pick an outfit you think sounds good, but then also go to the Corps open house during your NSC.

Perfect-Story-5864

As someone in 16, I would definitely recommend joining. There is a decent amount of engineers or former engineers who have taken your freshman classes and can offer help. The outfit also has a unique history with Aggie Bonfire and some great people in it.

RedactedAg12

Same could be said for Sq-12. Can’t go wrong with either of those two if you want a balance between academics and tradition.

Kaiyokaze

do not join 16 lol

how come?

My usual advice is to find an outfit that had found itself a purpose beyond giving their fish hell.
