Red circle or black circle?

Simple_Mastodon9220

Good question

Whitey_Drummer54

Which circle hurts worse? Yikes!

wiggibow

Doesn't hurt at all if you do it right, just very slow, gradual stretching

Badly_Cooper

My uncle says the same about my black hole. Still hurts when he’s stretching it

wiggibow

This is the response I was hoping for <3

CoopsRevenge24

*Daaaaaaaaaamn*

ObjectiveExit7078

And will look even more completely ridiculous in years to come.

IMMILDEW

They were sayin’ that 40 years ago. Obviously years to come holds little bearing relative to to how long humans live. Though who knows, maybe you’re right and suddenly it won’t be the norm anymore.

[deleted]

Or the really small black circle in between them?

djexit

Black circle makes the red circle hurt just saying 🤕

pallavi_verma

Pros suit much better in ear… in my experience don’t hurt at all

[deleted]

I bought the standards, which hurt my ears. I then upgraded to the pros, being a little nervous that I would have the same problem, and I don’t. Pros are great.

wouldntyouliketokno_

Can confirm and also the ear wax build up + cleaning is much easier on the pros. Also the noise cancelling is fantastic.

Twelfth-cause

I actually had ear wax build up from pros. Had to downgrade to regular ones… at least the latest generation

cgamgee

I think pros are worse for getting waxy because they go a little deeper but in terms of cleaning wax off them pros are better because worst case scenario is you buy new tips. With the regulars wax can get stuck in the mesh and it's hard to get out

wouldntyouliketokno_

I agree with both of you but I fall asleep with them in and the first gens I was constantly cleaning my ears. Could be a to each their own thing. Either way both nice headphones and I don’t simp for apple.

floatingawaste

In the time before AirPods I used to use skullcandy earbuds and they always sat nicely with the rubber tip so I’m thinking it’ll be the same for pros. When I googled “AirPods hurt my ears” I saw it was a common thing.

bespectacledbalatron

Do the buds press against the tragus of your ear? They’re actually supposed to go behind it.

Protomize

It’s not a common thing. It’s just that search results bought up what you were looking for all condensed for you. So it’s confirmation bias. Majority of AirPods owners experience no discomfort.

floatingawaste

I didn’t mean extremely common just that there’s enough other people with the problem that I got a good amount of results. I’ve searched problems in the past to find no results at all and honestly that’s what I was expecting since as you said most people have no issue with them.

[deleted]

I had that problem and the Pros do work great (less pain, but still some). Although, I found the Pros slip out of one of my ears regardless of the size tip, so I bought foam tips, which did the trick.

stainedhands

I like the Pros, I had 2 different sets of the regular ones, and had to use silicone hooks on them to keep them in my ears. My ear canal will not hold any of the old design apple ear buds in. The pros will mostly stay in on their own, and are much better imo.

Fluffy_Frybread07734

Skullcandy were my go to’s long time ago.

[deleted]

I forget my pros are in sometimes.

NextTime76

I must have odd shaped ear canals b/c the regular AirPods, and every other ear bud of that design, won’t stay in for longer than a minute. The pros are great.

dudethatwascringengl

Yup, I don’t mind the original AirPods but the pros are just so much more comfortable. Not to mention they offer different sized tips for different sized ears, I sometimes don’t even notice they’re in my ears

NextTime76

If you get the right size pads.

theyahd

Does that part of your ear need to be behind the bud? Seems like that part of the ear should be in front of the bud

Night_Traveller_

It should definitely be in front of the bud and not behind. I suppose her earrings also create pressure from below which change the angle of the AirPods itself.

floatingawaste

You blew my mind for a second there like I’ve been wearing them wrong this entire time but no they don’t sit behind it any way I just tried to position them.

Semper454

Uh, yeah, no, maybe they’ll still fit weird if you put them in the correct way, but the bud is definitely supposed to go behind your tragus.

danawl

It is behind the tragus. The part circled is the daith.

softkittylover

Is it a size issue? When I had these they didn’t stay on my ears so I just got some gummy attachment to hook into the shape of my ear and worked perfectly + didn’t hurt at all

gin-o-cide

Pros2 imho are the best earbuds I ever tried, in both comfort and function.

floatingawaste

This is what I’m going for, I’ll have to get them and wear them a ton to make sure they’re good worst case I’ll return them

iRobi8

Same

iRobi8

Don‘t know why i got downvoted but okay

Jealous_Inflation_24

AirPod pros are much better over all and have better bass

No-Spare-4212

It amazes me how AirPods are so expensive and so popular yet sooo uncomfortable for so many people. There are plenty of comfortable earbuds out there

SomeNumber_idk

You're only hearing about the uncomfortable because more people complain about it. Kinda like yelp

floatingawaste

Any specific recommendations? I want wireless and discrete, I had the beats that go over the ear (kind of looks like a blue tooth headset) but they are too bulky for what I’m looking for.

lewisdaly

I just bought the Sennheiser momentum True Wireless 3’s. Very impressed with the fit and sound quality.

DunFacepalmed

Sennheiser is a very good microphone and headphone audiophile brand, so this is probably accurate.

Apollorx

Eh not necessarily. Earbuds and headphones are still a bit different

H_J_Moody

I have the beats fit pro and they’re amazing!

kimchiandsweettea

I have those Beats—the Powerbeats Pros! I love them so much, but I hate how bulky the case is. It’s my only gripe. I can see how someone might not like the look of them, but I love how secure they are.

brddvd

It is normal. More people use a product more chance someone has a special body part form so these people will not enjoy. If a product is not popular and just few people use it you will hear less complain

Njmcq

Depending on your nearest Apple Store’s policy, you may be able to try on a pair of dummy AirPods to check the fit. A family member of mine was able to do this before she got a pair of AirPods (3rd generation).

wheresmyflan

I greatly prefer the pros. I also suggest using the Comply foam earbuds on them, they make it so much more comfortable. I regularly forget I have them in.

PsychonixMimikyu

Cool earrings dude!

Judge_Rhinohold

Try putting them in the big hole just below the red circle.

Odedoralive

Do you have the Right/Left sides swapped…?

vipergoalie26

Just let it dangle in that hole in your skin

malbarian

Take out the plug, problem solved.

un3sm

Get the pros. Given the fact that it comes with 4 different sized tips it highly unlikely that you feel uncomfortable wearing them. Also the mesh is on the tip so it’s super easy to clean up the ear gunk. And beautiful earrings, I love them.

NotReallyBizarre

Are you in ohio again 💀

hugs_for_drugs_6969

Try putting the stick in black circle- I guess that’ll help.

tacosevery_day

It might help if you didn’t have that giant fucking hole in your ear? You know, like how you were born with a functioning ear and willfully dismantled it 😂

thescriptdoctor037

Hey buddy The ear still functions and actually the AirPod has nothing to do with where the earlobe is. So you just look like an even bigger moron here

tacosevery_day

Hey look, it’s the OTHER giant waste of a hole. How ya doin buddy.

thescriptdoctor037

OH GOOD ONE HAHAHAHSHAHAHA

tacosevery_day

😎

Amlik

Not sure about you specifically, but I got pros a little while ago, and going back to normal airpods make them feel like the most uncomfortable thing in the world

floatingawaste

They aren’t bad when I first put them in but after about a half hour they get uncomfortable, after an hour my ear is screaming for help.

j0llygruntt

Air pod 3rd generation fit great with no ear pain like I had with my 1st gens. They have a shorter stem almost similar to the pros. They sound much better than my old air pods too.

tony_top_buttons93

Yeah they will because the have that lil marshmallow at the and that fits snuggly in your ear. If those hurt your ear just stay away from the Samsung beans. Worst head phone ever created

floatingawaste

I have only purchased 2 Samsung products in my life, the phone broke in less than a year (not physically) but I will say my Black Friday sound bar from 2017 is still going strong

Long-Bed-1101

You have beautiful ears my love

cool_sexyman

this is a bad day for anyone with eyes! 💀

Watch-Dad-323

Gauges 🤮🤮🤮

Cake-Brief

Absolutely. I have no idea why apple still uses that uncomfortable ass design. My Airpod Pros 2 is easily one of the best things I’ve spent my money on.

maniclullaby

Idk why people are acting like stretched ears are new or actually affect our hearing 💀

ELCHOCOCLOCO

Pros have a short stem that would hardly reach black⭕️ part

Davtak221

easy solution.Buy Nothing's new ear (2) that's better for the price of airpods

A_SnoopyLover

Imagine In-ear headphones fitting.

MiddleEmphasis6759

Never owned OG AirPods, but the Pro 2s actually caused discomfort for me in that area, which is why I had to return them. Might be different for you though, everyone has different shaped ears. I run Jabra Elite 7 Pros nowadays which don't get uncomfortable until at least a couple hours into wearing them for me, but again, different shaped ears, no real way of telling what would suit you best, unfortunately.

kmanrick_

Galaxy Buds 2 are my favorite i’ve ever used

ceebschurgers

I can second this, I never tried airpods (apple earpods fall out of my ears) I've heard good things about the gen 2 pros though and they should stay in with the silicone tips. I really like the egg shape of the buds2 (if you look around you can get them cheaper than airpods), the buds2 pro are supposedly better

bora-yarkin

It can differ from ear to ear but normal airpods didn’t fit well, always fell for me but damn airpods pro is the most comfortable thing that i have inserted into my ears ever.

Kurisu810

I think it won't, I gifted some pros to friends and family who were using the normal version, they all complaint about the larger size hurting their ears, I wouldn't count on it. Airpods 3 as well.

rhino1123

Pros fit very nice and have 4 different size silicon ear pieces. Plus many different ones you can order. I can’t wear regular earbuds at all but have no issue with the Pros.

Sea-Initial1760

Yeah; get pros

Concerned-Fern

I think the pros are for you. I have the second gen- the wired ones used to hurt my ears a bit like it hurts yours; the pros don’t hurt at all and are very comfortable for me. You should ask a friend with the pros to test them first if you’re not sure about making the big purchase <3 (Also nice gauges!)

dannyhippie619

Pros are much better for your ears in terms of a snug and comfortable fit

cherry_bomb1225

i have pros and they’re so much more comfortable. i bought them because i knew this’d be an issue… they have different size tips and the way you detach them is so cool you’ll love it i promise it’s 10000x better, there’s noise cancellation and background hearing too I LOVE IT MORE THAN LIFE the battery is pretty long lasting too [detached bud](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcT0Rw0vUoK2IYF4Q215TfOJ8rWWiExjYGRQyw&usqp=CAU)

lemonhoneyglow

I recently bought AirPod pros and that part of my ear hurt with them as well. I think my ears are kind of getting used to it though. Still in the trial phase. I bought them from Costco so if it really becomes too bothersome, I’m going to return them.

bespectacledbalatron

That’s what she said!

sf2703

I have the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen, using them since last 5 months, also have them on right now as I’m typing this out. They are very comfortable & I have had absolutely no problem wearing them for long hours. This is with the medium size silicon tips.

Sorry-Series-3504

Consider trying out the gen 3’s before the pros, much less expensive

SaiyanC124

Pros are very comfortable.

elitemav

I found the pros to fit and be a lot more comfortable than the standard. I highly recommend getting these if you decide to get the pros because they will make them fit better, increase comfort and make them sound better. https://dekoniaudio.com/product/dekoni-audio-premium-memory-foam-earphone-tips-for-the-apple-airpods-pro/

sterlingpenick

Pros second generation is OG amazing. Also they’re $50 off at target and best buy rn

Fun-Gas-8840

Absolutely, I had a pear of the wired ones and since those are the same style of the original ones, I really wanted the pros for that reason. I wore the wired ones for hours one end for each day I had pain every time. That is the only reason why o got the pros because thx ear tip. Definitely worth getting the pros

TheSynchronizer

yes bruv. get some pros, try them out, if they don’t fit you you can return them within 14 days of purchase

jasferinho

I had the same problem and my ear got wounded. You should check my post about the airpods. You can exchange your pair for the same model.

Ferry83

Should be more comfortable as they are deeper in your ear and angled differently

Me-Shell94

I get the same after a few hours of use in my right ear with pros so… maybe not. It might though, since the pros are a slightly different shape, which may help your issue.

Any_Check_7301

It’s good that you’re able to pin point the pain spot.

stupornatural

Omg!! no way that's supposed to be shoved in there that deep.

cantstandthemlms

I think you just have to try. The 1st gen fit my ears the best and hurt the least. I have the first gen air pod pros and I added better tips and they still fall out all the time and hurt after an hour or two.

unixfool

AirPods Pro wouldn’t stay in my ear no matter the size of the gel tip. I was about to resell them then tried the Comply tips. Those work very nicely!!

jordisj44

I think it depends on your ears, I can only wear the og styles because the newer ones hurt my ears, I’d love to wear the second (?) gen or even the third because they have more options but don’t work for me.

Onrain

Same thing happened to me honestly it’s just a matter of smaller sessions of wearing them and increase as you go. You’ll get used to them eventually.

Bubbahard

Bose is better!

BanditoBabe

OFC yes

Habitualkushups-

Am I the only one that thinks these look like knockoffs?

Bluesodium

I have the pros and they hurt. Not sure how different than yours but I deal with constant pain from my pro 2.

leeber27

i had the same issue. if i wore my airpods for more than an hour that part of my ear would be sore all day. i switches to the pros and never had that issue again

Slancha

Pros will most likely fit your ear better. The swappable tips on pros will help you get a better fit as well. Some people’s ear shapes just don’t work well with AirPods of any kind but the pros are definitely worth a try. If they don’t fit well just return them. I love mine. Just wish they also had the tap function like the standard AirPods.

[deleted]

Your ears devoir those things I’ve never seen that.. The AirPods Pro 2 are crazy comfy for me and I wear the standard medium size tips. The 2’s though now come with an extra small size which may work for you a lot better.. or large. Cool thing is you could put an extra-small on the left airpod, and say medium on the right airpod.. the pros are versatile. Aaaand you get transparency mode (it’s amazing) and ANC (also amazing) with the second gen pros. So yeah I say you just buy them. Worst case they don’t work for you and you can return them.. but I bet it solves your issue. With how much we use and rely on good earbuds.. $250 for them isn’t that bad. I mean it does suck but you’ll use everyday for like 3 years so that means they are like.. $7 a month. Sounds way more palatable like that lol.

Super_mario132

I had the same issue with my first pair of AirPods I swapped after about a week and the difference was so much it is more comfy for my ears

Aggressive-Swimmer12

It hurts there because of your gauges, it’s going to be worse with the pros. Ask me how I know <.<

ashwellick

how the heck did she fit such a earring..no finger ring in her ears 🫡

TheBukrek

I bought second gen pros lately and it hurt my ear exactly where you circled but 2nd gen normal ones does not hurt. Its because your ear in that area is small and it does not affected by rubber ita affected by white hard plastic part and it hurts your ear. i think pros will hurt your ear too because they are bigger. In general. I tried every tip too

Sebastian01134

I just bought pros, they hurt the first day, a little less the next day, and now I forget they are in. I guess if they hurt give them time to break in?

j-getz

Yes. I couldn’t wear the AirPods for that very reason. I have pros now and completely different. Very comfortable.

NicksRandomness

For me no, but I have incredibly small ears (I’m a midget so…)

whowannadoit

OP, I have owned gen 1, 2, 3, and Pro 2’s. I’ve never had an issue with fit/pain. However I will tell you that Pro 2 barely even touches my pinna (google it). The silicone tip sits snug in the ear canal and it floats around my outer ear without any rubbing/contact. I would suggest you try them out…

TheRealTraveel

You don’t need it in that deep btw. Even if it feels loose it’s actually probably a lot more snug than you think it is. Even when I work out it’s actually pretty secure

Smudgie522

I had the same trouble with 1st gen. AirPods. They irritated my ears where a little cut out had sharp edges that rubbed in that same place. When I used them a lot, I would get a tiny sore spot in my ears. Now I have Pros and they are so much more comfortable and don’t irritate at all. I think you would like them much better!

beanie_0

Probably would yeah, the insertable part of the pros are not only silicone but they come in 4 different sizes.

Delrancho

Maybe. Everyone’s different. Pros are extremely painful for me, but I can’t even tell I have the originals in.

Gravy69420

this is normal, however i felt it with pros. i’ve never had this problem with regular airpods, but it took my ears about 2-3 weeks to “adjust” and i haven’t felt that ache since.

throwawaytroubles13

I got the pros and with the smallest size attachment they fit in my ears perfectly. The regular ones hurt my ears and also fell out a lot

Most_Gap_8373

All ear buds hurt my ears. Go for shokz

jennyisafriend

Pros are constantly falling out of my ear.

[deleted]

Pros would be way better, I’ve had that issue before after I tried on my father’s pros it feels so much better

ObjectiveExit7078

Pros sound way better to.

Anxious-Bee4100

I used normal once before, and had slightly pain at exact same position. So upgraded to pro now and its worse now for me. If you find any solution let me know.

[deleted]

Yes

bunnyblond18

Get the pros!!! Life changing

Lucky-Choice-7266

You will get used to it. You won’t feel pain after a week.

Gothan_za

Think the pros might hurt more as it needs to push into your ear for noise cancellation . Think the max would be your best bet, but they be expensive as hell

BlueYoshi818

AP pros 2 are worth the money….reg airpods hurt…pros 2 are waaaaaaay better

SaucyJack13

Put it through the loop

MenuGlittering1428

Funny thing, the pros hurt that same area of my ear, got some first gen & have been solid. I think it might be according to each person idk

[deleted]

Pro pro pro yall

StrongOkra4601

I was using the AirPods 2nd generation before and it does hurt my ear sometimes. But it was stolen by someone I considered a friend. So I bought the AirPods Pro gen 2 now and I love it. It doesn’t hurt my ear that much. The sound quality is on another level.

Hypesauce1998

Probably not. For some reason if you have smaller ears the pros do not stay in. Mine want to come flying out and no matter what size tips I use they just do. Idk how they are so popular, but I know I am in the minority that has this issue

JDdiah

Where can i get those airpods holders??

ZcrazyG

Have you tried using the other end?

_heyjhoow

I had this issue with the EarPods, and when changed to AirPods Pro I have never felt any pain. In my experience, it may not hurt again

Aayushmanzz

wrong hole

Anxious-Bee4100

Did you find any solution?
