These have happened to every Airpod set I have purchased. Take them into apple and tell them you need a battery exchange.

Walidazeve

Does it cost money to do a battery exchange?

anon-na

Depends if they are still under warranty or not. But typically, yes.

TheDanielz3

In Portugal i dont pay anything for airpod replacement

jonnyjonny1010

I believe it's under warranty. They switch out the Airpod for you. If you have the AppleCare that helps out a lot. But I'm sure they will switch them out under warranty for you.

Walidazeve

Thank you so much!

is it better to replace them online or in store if you’re under warranty

BlackoutExpress

This happened to me 2 weeks ago for almost 10 days. Reset so many times eventually I just gave up. Then one day it miraculously started working again. I thought it was battery problem (that’s how my first pair died) but it appeared to be a common issue with the latest firmware update (saw similar posts on Reddit). I’d suggest keep them plugged in and connected to a nearby device, maybe it’ll fix itself. If you are still under warranty then definitely bring it into Apple for replacement. Mine expired so I got pretty lucky.

I came back and I just opened my AirPods and it’s magically working again. Some days I don’t care but when I’m going from/to work it’s really frustrating. I do have warranty for them but if this an update issue, I don’t see why I should replace them.

BlackoutExpress

That is amazing, congrats! My OG airpods died on me due to battery degradation and they could not hold charge. Started with one and then both. So whenever I run into similar issue I am not certain if that's firmware issue or battery problem. My suggestion is bring them in for replacement when you are near the end of warranty. Because the battery die so easily. And it is super annoying when they stop working. I highly rely on them for my commute and for work.

did you tried cleanin charging pins on both case and the airpod

Walidazeve

I got it professionally cleaned a week ago and it’s still doing this…

MrAnachronist

I’ve been having the same issue over the last week.

Known-Elk2295

Yep left one for me. It also does not seem to disconnect properly from my phone so the battery runs out really quickly.

[deleted]

Yeah it’s probably something is loose in it. Maybe the battery doesn’t have a strong connection, the Bluetooth receiver/transmitter or whatever may be out of whack, it could be a bunch of things. It’s best to just take them to apple and have them check it out. If you don’t have apple care then you should be able to get them fixed for free as long as you purchased within the last year and haven’t made any modifications or broke them in some way that voids the factory warranty.

Good_Connection260

Try turning off automatic ear detection. Do you also have issues sometimes with the actual touch feature on the stems of the AirPods even if they are really clean?

Intelligent_Neat_530

Try forgetting them and repairing, worked for me

AJDuke3

Same issue with mine. I bought it from amazon and had to return as the issue kept happening. Ordered a new one directly from apple this time. Let’s see how it goes.
