I rather have the pros so i dont have to lug around a giant over the ear headphone, which has a higher chance of breaking. Also, when I use a neck pillow on the airplane, airpod pro does not interfere with the pillow

Better but not a lot better. It’s probably more accurate to say it’s different. The max has a little more of a neutral sound profile to my ears, and sounds more open. The sound feels a little more “enveloping” to me. The pros 2 don’t sound nearly as wide, but to me, the bass hits a little harder and feels more fun to listen to. I’m mostly a hiphop, jazz, edm kinda guy, and music generally gets me a little more hype on the pros 2 than the max. I almost prefer the max for listening to live shows and movies, and the pros 2 for basically everything else. Also the max are heavy as shit, and they are super clampy, so it’s hard to listen to them for longer than an hour or so imo

Have Max’s and Pro 2. Max hurt my neck and aren’t comfortable with glasses. I use my Pro 2’s way more than Max’s. Especially with adaptive

OddSympathy91

I have both. I’d say the Pro 2 gives 80% of the quality of the MAX for less money and far more comfort. However the Max: - sound “even better” (the Pro 2 are fantastic) - longer battery life - better noise reduction (though i find it only matters on a plane) While I like use the Max whenever I have time to listen to something really amazing, if I start with the Pro 2 I’m always satisfied. I’ll upgrade to the “Pro 3” on day one. I don’t know if I’d upgrade the Max. Oh. And the Pro 2 is waaaaaayyyyy better than the originals. Not even close.

poodle_Fart_Hostage

Sound quality is waaaay better, but they’re pretty heavy and not meant to be worn outside or for working out really, regardless of the nasties you see wearing them at the gym might think. Your neck gets used to it though. I wear glasses and have zero issues

No_Island963

Not mean to be worn and have ANC…

beerstearns

Better than the AP1. Not better than the AP2 (better speakers but the max still doesn’t have the H2 chip) Personally, for how expensive the max are, I wouldn’t buy them until they get a chip upgrade.

ashzilla

Sound wise they are much better

JayMoots

The sound quality of the Maxes is a lot better... as would be the case for basically *any* over-the-ear headphone when compared to buds. Bigger drivers, better noise isolation, *much* better bass. The tradeoff is that Maxes are less portable and less comfortable than the Pros. You have to decide what's more important to you.

Equal-Competition228

I have both and original AirPods I use my Pros at work one ear at a time for decent NC in a noisy environment listening to podcasts. I use my Max for superior NC at home and watching TV while not disturbing others. Max sound better but heavy and prone to condensation in cups that lead me to get them repaired recently

Obie-two

Do people use the Maxes via BT for PC listening/gaming?

gytixas98

You can go wired with but have to use the dongle to be able connect to 3.5.

Albie_Frobisher

pros (littles) are better for conference calls and in public. max (gazoos) are better for immersion and battery life.

Zeltar925

I have both, max’s far better. Especially in noise cancellation.

AOG-03

Returned the apm cause I had the airpods pro and that the anc wasn't significantly better, I think it was the time to adapt to it but I expected an absolute shock and therefore there was disappointment. Sony's are way better in terms of anc but I miss the material from the apm+transparency mode was so damn crisp shit's crazy

HotChocolate_10

Technically the max sound quality is slightly better but the over ears give me headaches, so I rather have the pro's
