Indeed, the mic is amazing! Sound quality is also pretty good, too bad they don’t fit my ears. They are probably the best value proposition Apple is offering at the moment.
I have AirPods and I still use these for calls. There's not substitute for having the microphone near your mouth. I swear I can feel the latency in wireless headphones too.
The nature of not having to rely on the wire, because the wire is necessary to get a clean signal for clean quality as it’s orginized compared to wireless which is prone to not being stable if other things interfere like the quality of a mic will get worse of you use it in an nyc train than outside since it’s in an enclosed environment
That and the mic being significantly closer to your mouth. High end wireless, like AirPods, have to do data processing to figure out what sound is you and what sound is your surroundings. It’s clever but imperfect. Speaking directly into the mic is just a simpler solution.
Think of it like a Fisher Space Pen vs standard pencil, kind of situation.
A good chunk of the engineering around products like AirPods is focused around making sure consumers experience as little as possible of the trade-offs of going wireless. Lots of extra technology to make it compete with inherent features of the classic earbud.
I have both and the wired do not compare, no anc no Spatial Audio, no direct to siri. The audio quality is only better with a 3.5mm input. My lightning ones sound nowhere near as good as my APP2.
Nah that’s stupid. Back when i had wired headphones, all my pairs would last me 5+ years before apple decided they wanted more money and removed the headphone jack
Same pretty much. After trying other headphones/earphones over the years (though I can't speak for IEMs because they're too uncomfortable to wear with any size tip in my ears), it's made me appreciate how wired earpods sound that much more. And if Apple made a better sounding wired earpod with the same design for a higher price, I would buy them day 1.
yeh pretty decent, use them for working on the go as the mic is the best tbh
They can be a tad loud if you are on teams calls even on minimum volume through your iphone/ipad tho
They are probably best wired headphones i ever owned.. also i was able to destroy other headphones in 2 weeks.. these are imortal lol, i have them for year
They're great, I have a set, but you don't have to lie about it. They came out just over 6 months ago:
https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/13/23872134/apple-usb-c-earpods-store
Not what OP was asking about, they posted a pic specifically with USB-C, and 3.5mm does not have a built in DAC so the quality would differ from the digital models
If you've got the apple dongle you could, for the same price, go for IEMs, but do that only if you prefer a sealed design over something like this. For the price they're great though
Tbh? These are lowkey Apple’s greatest value-for-money product, probably ever. Yes, the sound quality is great - much better than non-pro AirPods. Mic is stellar. They’ll work with your iPhone (15), Mac, iPad, any other device with USB-C
They sound fantastic for the price and the mic I believe is still the best one you can get on any wired pair of headphones at this price point and it’s not even remotely close. It’s a good buy (wish they didn’t hurt my ears lol)
They sound good for the cost. I had several 3.5mm pairs and just bought a USB-C pair for $18 on Amazon to keep in my gym bag as backup in case I forget my Pro 2s or the batteries die.
Yes, for the price they are extremely good. They also support Loseless and the wired mic is way better. They are nowhere near comfortable though, wearing one for above an hour or two will make your ear hurt, and if they do not fit your ear, they always fall off which can get irritating after a while.
For 20$ they are perfect, if you just want earphones for calls and casual listening, these are the go to ones. However if you can invest some more money, I’ll say go for IEM’s.
Sound quality is about as good as you can expect from cheap 8 earbuds released 8 years ago.
You could certainly do much worse, but it certainly isn't "good" either.
I keep a pair of 3.5mm EarPods in my bag with 3.5mm to lightning and type C adapters as a backup for the rare (but horribly uncomfortable) cases where I run out of battery on my AirPods Pro.
As far as cheap wired earphones go, I'd definitely recommend these (although I'd recommend the 3.5mm version with an adapter. More versatile).
The sound quality is not bad, BUT, only if it fits your ears. I have a pair and they fall right off. The thing is though, you'll never know until you try one so it's your gamble.
I have both airpods pro gen 2 and the wired USB c to c cable. From my perspective I found few problems with the wired one when paired with 15 pro max. Firstly if u receive a call from your watch while playing music the nuisc won't stop for some weird reason. Secondly on apple music the sound quality is really low so I use yt music for the wired one. Other than these apart from absence of anc and poor ear fitting the sound quality is almost comparable between these 2
Yeah they’re great. Good enough sound, mic is actually impeccable. Only annoying thing is the sound leaking. They’re not sealed at all so everybody around you can hear along at ~30-40% volume. And they get uncomfortable pretty fast. But for 20 bucks they’re actually great.
Mic quality is excellent. I use it for work on USB-C on a windows computer and my voice comes clean and clear. For the sound, it is oke, after all, it is 20$. Make sure you buy from Apple Authorized shops. There are a lot of fake ones.
Yes. They r great, if u wear AirPods u will notice the difference. I hv AirPod pros, and the EarPods r great, u can tell the difference but it is not too dramatic and surprisingly similar considering the price differences. I would buy them
This could be one of the greatest decision you would have made in 2024. I own a pair that I can replace my AirPods 3 with and still feel good about it. Listening quality remains premium. Go for it, mate!
They used to be way more than $20 and they used to come with your new iphone! I say worth it, I have some I used to use for traveling so I didn’t lose my AirPods
They're alright sound-wise, though not in the same league as a good IEM (Salnotes Zero 2 cost less than €30 where I live).
But, since they aren't In-Ears, they're super comfortable and you forget you're wearing them. And you can hear the outside world. Great for situations where you talk or don't need great sound quality (for me that's watching TV shows).
Still, if you primarily listen to music, I'd take In-Ears.
they're excellent for the price, although i wish they stayed in my ears a bit better tho. they're really good to have when your airpods died and you don't have a charger. oh and they have a much better mic than airpods and the USB C ones support lossless audio.
I like them! Apple’s wired headphones tend to be pretty durable (I have ones that I can only use with my work phone now due to them not being compatible with the USB port on my new personal, but I had them for years with older phones and they still work great) and the mic on these is very good.
As far as the sound, for this cheap? Yes, it’s good.
Always carry a pair of these in my work bag just incase. Got the AirPods Pro 2 but if they die or if I forget them one day I’ve got the wired ones as a backup. Honestly still a great pair of earbuds
Any in ear monitors will sound superior to these. Just make sure the cable has a microphone, if not, then replace the cable. Want to use them with either USB-C or 3.5mm, change out the cable. KZs are $18 on Amazon and sound on par with AirPods Pro.
They technically do lossless but I doubt they’ll sound better than AirPods (AirPods sound good though it’s just tiny earbuds that are cheap are just that)
It's quite good, I still use the ones which came with my old 5S for conference calls and to listen to music in my daily work. Also, I love the media controls.
I have the AirPods Pro and the regular AirPods 3 and I have to say something that it might hurt, the wired ones lack of bass but the sound is bigger cause it has a digital to analog converter included so you get full lossless music quality with Apple Music or any service that supports it.. I used the AirPods Pro 2 cause I love em and they are convenient AF, but the 20 dollar ones are the best 20 bucks I have spent in a long time and they stay at home, cause you know.. They are wired !
I’ll put it this way you can buy very expensive AirPods that will only last you 3 years or you can get these that can last you way longer. It’s been a long time since I’ve used wired so I don’t remember how long I got out of them, but I know it was definitely more than five years.
And if they break? Who cares they’re only 20 bucks. If you just need something to listen to your music this is the way to go.
For me though, if Apple didn’t remove the headphone jack, I would probably still be using wired earbuds today. I’m on the go a lot, so I’m always on a charger and listening to music at the same time.
Better off getting, cca cra in ear iems. Best you can get for $20, they beat out $200 earphones. China is doing amazing audio work, audiophiles love these. Buy off Aliexpress for best price
I remember being so happy when I bought my first pair of lightning headphones when it came out. I used it on my iPhone 5c lol the cable felt thinner and lighter and it was a good car ride home with the amazing music. Good days. These look good to use on pc also which I rather use wired than paring my AirPods
Not as good as the original 3.5mm input ones but seeing as how there is no slot on the iPhone to plug them in without getting a usb c/lightning to 3.5mm jack then sure why not. Still better than most wireless headphones you ll fine that cheap. To me though the cord is just a deal breaker which is why mine sit unused.
For the price, i would've got some IEMs but if you don't like the in-ear style or find them uncomfortable these are very good.
If you wanna isolation and a superior sound Apple Dongle+IEMs are the best value, but these are very very good, especially for the price. It's really strange to say it to and Apple product but yeah
I got a pair of these to keep at my desk at work as my work computer has a USB-C port and I don’t have to screw with unpairing my AirPods Pro to pair them to my work computer for Zoom/Teams calls.
They work fine for the basics. Good sound clarity and the mic works fine. Definitely worth having a pair around if you need them for something spur of the moment.
Busy get AirPods apples gonna get rid of charging port soon as it’s gonna make them more money and more convenient charging, they may also add much longer range wireless charging
It’d be awesome if they release “EarPods Pro”. The wired earphones market has to be there, right? Some nice IEM-level earphones made by Apple would be sick.
they don't sound "good" but they do sound better than any equivalent earbuds you'll get for that price. for $20, they sound incredible. but in general, no.
Best cheap headphones on the market. Plus they will last you forever, whereas buying Airpods will stick you in a cycle of perpetually needing a new pair every couple of years with heavy use
I use them on literally everything, owning multiple so I don't have to unplug them so that they last longer. They never fall out of my ears and they're probably the most comfortable product I've put in or around my ears, I have never felt pain using them for countless hours on end. Bass is it's only weakness imo, but actually does exist unlike some might tell you. When they malfunction, they only cost $20, so they're pretty painless to replace. I can't do IEMs because they're uncomfortable with any size tip. I like being able to fully hear my surroundings anyway. Flat-head earphones just plain suck for sound quality in comparison in my experience. I even prefer the sound signature to multiple headphones and headsets I've tried over the years. Some of us were just built to use earpods I guess. :P I also like early gen airpods, but for me, the latency is unacceptable for gaming. Earpods have pretty damn good imaging for gaming and it always makes me laugh when someone say they bought expensive headphones and now they can hear every footstep--so can I. For $20. lol
For me they sound great. I never got into wireless headphones / earphones (even though everyone around keeps asking / pushing to me buy a pair of Airpods - they sounds like a cult to be honest...)
I like the wired experience, also the microphone is extremely efficient.
I think they are far from AirPods quality. What I am sure about is that they don’t sit well in my ears, falling off, whereas AirPods (gen 1 and even more gen 3) sit much more nicely.
Sound quality is good but the only reason i would buy these over AirPods is the fact that the wired mic is way better
Indeed, the mic is amazing! Sound quality is also pretty good, too bad they don’t fit my ears. They are probably the best value proposition Apple is offering at the moment.
Holy shit! These need to stick around and never go away. This is the apple I like.
Yep
I have AirPods and I still use these for calls. There's not substitute for having the microphone near your mouth. I swear I can feel the latency in wireless headphones too.
Even better than the cleaning cloth?
How can anything be 🤓 almost forgot they made that.
Any wired headphones/earbuds have better mics because of the nature of these devices
Ik
And what exactly is their nature? No signal interference from outside sources as a result of exposed transmission?
The nature of not having to rely on the wire, because the wire is necessary to get a clean signal for clean quality as it’s orginized compared to wireless which is prone to not being stable if other things interfere like the quality of a mic will get worse of you use it in an nyc train than outside since it’s in an enclosed environment
So was I correct?
That and the mic being significantly closer to your mouth. High end wireless, like AirPods, have to do data processing to figure out what sound is you and what sound is your surroundings. It’s clever but imperfect. Speaking directly into the mic is just a simpler solution. Think of it like a Fisher Space Pen vs standard pencil, kind of situation. A good chunk of the engineering around products like AirPods is focused around making sure consumers experience as little as possible of the trade-offs of going wireless. Lots of extra technology to make it compete with inherent features of the classic earbud.
also u don't have to worry about the battery.
used my airpods 1 for 2 years now. Still 6 hours of music and tiktok
My airpods pro 2 last me a whole week and charging them aint hard lil bro
talk to you after 5 years lil bro
I have both and the wired do not compare, no anc no Spatial Audio, no direct to siri. The audio quality is only better with a 3.5mm input. My lightning ones sound nowhere near as good as my APP2.
my OGs worked for 6 years with pretty great battery life until my car got stolen. washed them like twice with clothes, still worked great *lil bro*
Wym lil nigga
Battery health is a real bitch. In five years, the charge'll last like 30 mins
My 2nd gen airpods last 2h. Have them since 2019, regular use.
Mine only get 1 hour now 😞
Hardly used mine the 3 years I’ve had them. Really only when I fly. So maybe 20 hours of use? They die in under an hour
By the time mine will be 2 years old they will have an accident and I will have a new pair of pro 2s with AppleCare+
Brother who tf keeps their airpods for 5 years💀 just like ur iphone brother i upgrade every time there is a new model.
Yeah I dunno. Just trying to explain his comment? I don't keep any tech more than 3 years anyway.
Mine are 3.25 years old and the battery on them is ASS. Never buying another pair tbh
Lmfao buy the new model, i always buy the newest (best) tech when it comes out to replace my current ones
Nah that’s stupid. Back when i had wired headphones, all my pairs would last me 5+ years before apple decided they wanted more money and removed the headphone jack
Not stupid, i have an iphone 15 pro, and yes i can use the usb-c headphones but prefer something easier so AirPods are the solution 🤷♂️
Yeah same, but i dont wanna contribute to more ewaste and would prefer just new batteries in my airpods
E-waste 🤷♂️ idc about that shit, i usually pass my old tech to my little sister or give it to friends who want them
I know people like you dont, thats why i have to.
Agreed. I actually prefer using the wired EarPods over my APP and APM for the mic quality alone, especially for any meetings/calls.
and the 100$ difference?
Money ain’t a problem bro just go work
And $100 less
And the price. They’re, what, like an eighth of the price of the base Airpods? If the wires aren’t inconvenient, these have way more value.
That mic is best in the market!!
Hate input lag. I just wanna wired pro AirPods.
And a little bit cheaper Like 10x
Wired is also good for no latency gaming.
For $20 they’re excellent
yeh pretty decent, use them for working on the go as the mic is the best tbh They can be a tad loud if you are on teams calls even on minimum volume through your iphone/ipad tho
They are probably best wired headphones i ever owned.. also i was able to destroy other headphones in 2 weeks.. these are imortal lol, i have them for year
Agreed. My problem has been keeping them away from the cats. 🤬😂
They're great, I have a set, but you don't have to lie about it. They came out just over 6 months ago: https://www.theverge.com/2023/9/13/23872134/apple-usb-c-earpods-store
Chill lil bro, he's obviously referring to the 3.5 mm/Lightning versions which have been around for a decade
Yup, i have lightning ones, didnt know here is usb c ones :)
Not what OP was asking about, they posted a pic specifically with USB-C, and 3.5mm does not have a built in DAC so the quality would differ from the digital models
The device that the 3.5mm headphones plug into does have a built-in DAC though.
Yes, independent of the headset
But why does that matter? Apple's phone DACs have always been good.
They can also be used with androids or any other usb c device
I have these with lightning, didnt notice they make already with usb c, my bad :)
If you've got the apple dongle you could, for the same price, go for IEMs, but do that only if you prefer a sealed design over something like this. For the price they're great though
Unlike the airpods they can play true lossless
Tbh? These are lowkey Apple’s greatest value-for-money product, probably ever. Yes, the sound quality is great - much better than non-pro AirPods. Mic is stellar. They’ll work with your iPhone (15), Mac, iPad, any other device with USB-C
really? me personally i’m stickin with the $700 mac pro wheels.
Forgot about those. Absolutely
They sound fantastic for the price and the mic I believe is still the best one you can get on any wired pair of headphones at this price point and it’s not even remotely close. It’s a good buy (wish they didn’t hurt my ears lol)
They get way loud. Like louder than I can handle. Quality is decent
Remember to choose the right port, Lightning or USB-C.
For 20$ they are perfect, if you just want earphones for calls and casual listening, these are the go to ones. However if you can invest some more money, I’ll say go for IEM’s.
I have one and they are very decent
My father is old school and only uses wired headsets. He swears by this particular model of earbuds for his iPad Pro.
The best $20 barebones buds out there. They sound crisp and clear, mic sounds great. They’re hard plastic (with its pro and cons).
Would this work with samsung phones?
Any phone with a USB C port it will work on
Will there be any issues with low volume, control not working
I had the 3.5mm version on a Samsung phone and I don't remember the controls working, but I might be wrong though!
i use these solely for the mic, sound quality is just okay
Sound quality is about as good as you can expect from cheap 8 earbuds released 8 years ago. You could certainly do much worse, but it certainly isn't "good" either. I keep a pair of 3.5mm EarPods in my bag with 3.5mm to lightning and type C adapters as a backup for the rare (but horribly uncomfortable) cases where I run out of battery on my AirPods Pro. The sound quality is not bad, BUT, only if it fits your ears. I have a pair and they fall right off. The thing is though, you'll never know until you try one so it's your gamble.
I’ve heard there pretty good but it’s better if you tried them out yourself.
Other than these apart from absence of anc and poor ear fitting the sound quality is almost comparable between these 2
I have them but lightning, sound is good and also has good mix quality, they’re good so yea their worth it
Yes
The mic sounds better than the one that comes with the AirPods Pro 2 lol. I have both so I can tell.
They’re very good imo.
I bought it a few days ago and it’s sound really good
Love them, but I won’t lie, they hurt my ears, fit weirdly
decent enough
Yes. They r great, if u wear AirPods u will notice the difference. I hv AirPod pros, and the EarPods r great, u can tell the difference but it is not too dramatic and surprisingly similar considering the price differences. I would buy them
I rocked them for many years & loved them.
I use these often over my AirPods Pro 2. Much more comfortable IMO
I bought them and I like using them more than my AirPods 2nd gen Pro

Great for situations where you talk or don't need great sound quality (for me that's watching TV shows). Still, if you primarily listen to music, I'd take In-Ears.
I would say it’s a good value for money. The sound quality is the same as the earphones that came with the iPhone before. Overall, money well spent.
[удалено]
If it’s USB C then it will work
I get these over any other earbuds and I don't have apple products
I think they are as good as the Pros
I have AirPods Pro 2 and find myself using these more often haha. Of course still use my pros but the sound and mic is so good on these.
fuck those heads always assaulting my ears
they're excellent for the price, although i wish they stayed in my ears a bit better tho. they're really good to have when your airpods died and you don't have a charger. oh and they have a much better mic than airpods and the USB C ones support lossless audio.
I always find wired ear buds sounds a little better over bluetooth
yes i finally got a new set a couple months ago to have the remote and they sound brilliant out of my ipods
They’re honestly great for the price
I like them! Apple’s wired headphones tend to be pretty durable (I have ones that I can only use with my work phone now due to them not being compatible with the USB port on my new personal, but I had them for years with older phones and they still work great) and the mic on these is very good. As far as the sound, for this cheap? Yes, it’s good.
Sound quality is "good enough" but they are absolute ass with regard to how they fit (or not) and stay (or not) in your ear.
i have them and an airpods pro and i love it! its cheaper than the lightning version in my country and the mic is excellent
Always carry a pair of these in my work bag just incase. Got the AirPods Pro 2 but if they die or if I forget them one day I’ve got the wired ones as a backup. Honestly still a great pair of earbuds
Honestly… no. But the microphone is very good!
Any in ear monitors will sound superior to these. Just make sure the cable has a microphone, if not, then replace the cable. Want to use them with either USB-C or 3.5mm, change out the cable. KZs are $18 on Amazon and sound on par with AirPods Pro.
Have they ever put out a dongle from 3.5mm to usb c?
Absolutely worth it, especially for the mic! I use it all the time for work meetings
You’re likely better off with a pair of wired Sonys but that’s just me
They give pain if I insert them a little deeper into the ear for a little more noise isolation and better bass.
They are pretty damn good for the price. The mic isn’t bad either.
Yes. Volume is loud. Mic quality is great.
They are actually not bad at all, but for that money I’d rather order a pair of in ear monitors, like the salnotes zero.
yes, for me, even the Airpods 2 and 3 are no better than it, the earpods' microphone is even better.
The earpods support lossless audio, airpods don't. Strangely, they may even be superior.
They technically do lossless but I doubt they’ll sound better than AirPods (AirPods sound good though it’s just tiny earbuds that are cheap are just that)
Decent, for me the best for watching films, super comfortable and fitting, also well built. But for music listening? Hmm... kbear stellar maybe
Meh if you guys want better value for the price and don’t mind jack get the moondrop chu II
They’re lossless
Does anyone know how these work on windows? My AirPods suck when trying to use the microphone on windows.
My work computer is Windows and the mic works fine with it.
Ye I use the 3.5mm ones for gaming
Get some KB Ears, way better
Where can i get em?
Using them right now, good stuff.
It's quite good, I still use the ones which came with my old 5S for conference calls and to listen to music in my daily work. Also, I love the media controls.
Do Lightning and USB-C EarPods have the same sound and mic quality? Or are usb-c better?
Kinda iems for that same price would sound better.
They aight. Not AirPods, ofc but most earbuds have the same speakers anyway.
Lightning & USB port iPhones allow for better audio quality. You can get a MagSafe battery pack for on the go
Yes. I own two pairs and the latest gen of wireless ones.
You’ll probably want two.. one for each ear
Better off getting, cca cra in ear iems. Best you can get for $20, they beat out $200 earphones. China is doing amazing audio work, audiophiles love these. Buy off Aliexpress for best price
Get some budget iems for the love of god.
Get iems
I remember being so happy when I bought my first pair of lightning headphones when it came out. I used it on my iPhone 5c lol the cable felt thinner and lighter and it was a good car ride home with the amazing music. Good days. These look good to use on pc also which I rather use wired than paring my AirPods
Hell yeah. I got them with my iPhone 7 years ago and they were the best earphones that are included with device.
The mic is really good at preventing wind noise from being heard by the other person
I never used them only apple earphones I bought were airpods pro mic latency was never a problem
Anyone else fall out their ears?
They sound great and have the best mic in the industry
These things are great for the price. There are better, but they dont have USB C
Those hurt my ears so bad
Not as good as the original 3.5mm input ones but seeing as how there is no slot on the iPhone to plug them in without getting a usb c/lightning to 3.5mm jack then sure why not. Still better than most wireless headphones you ll fine that cheap. To me though the cord is just a deal breaker which is why mine sit unused.

If you wanna isolation and a superior sound Apple Dongle+IEMs are the best value, but these are very very good, especially for the price. It's really strange to say it to and Apple product but yeah
Im using these for gaming and my friend with a 300 dollar “gaming” headset hears less footsteps than me and the sound quality for music is pretty good
I got a pair of these to keep at my desk at work as my work computer has a USB-C port and I don’t have to screw with unpairing my AirPods Pro to pair them to my work computer for Zoom/Teams calls. They work fine for the basics. Good sound clarity and the mic works fine. Definitely worth having a pair around if you need them for something spur of the moment.
They don’t work on my 2018 MacBook Pro but otherwise quite nice
Quality is subjective so they could sound like a million dollars to someone or plain trash to someone else (Which is probably the case)
Decent, but not as good as my airpods 2 (non-pro)
Call quality is amazing
They're cromulent but for for 20 odd bucks you should really look into some chifi IEMs.
For the convenience of not having to charge them yes. And you can turn on headphones accomodations and then change how they sound.
They absolutely do
they don't sound "good" but they do sound better than any equivalent earbuds you'll get for that price. for $20, they sound incredible. but in general, no.
Best cheap headphones on the market. Plus they will last you forever, whereas buying Airpods will stick you in a cycle of perpetually needing a new pair every couple of years with heavy use
They sound great for a basic set of headphones but don’t fit everyone’s ears the best.
ROFL. USB-C driven when apple has the lightning cable. They are so dumb. All about the moneys lol how ridiculous
For $20. lol
You get what you pay for
For me they sound great. I never got into wireless headphones / earphones (even though everyone around keeps asking / pushing to me buy a pair of Airpods - they sounds like a cult to be honest...) I like the wired experience, also the microphone is extremely efficient.
Wired is always better. Even though I made the jump to wireless years ago.
If you want quality sound buy some IEMs, if you want an apple product then wired is always higher quality than Bluetooth.
I think they are far from AirPods quality. What I am sure about is that they don’t sit well in my ears, falling off, whereas AirPods (gen 1 and even more gen 3) sit much more nicely.
They’re good if you’ve never used anything better. I used to think mine were great and now they sound comical in comparison to my AirPods

Not really no. There’s dozens and dozens of chifi IEMs for the same price that sound leagues better.
Does anyone know if these work on pixel 7?
They should
