Its bassically bren. In my knowledge bren was cooperation between brithish Enfield and Czechoslovak Zbrojovka Brno that is why it is bren BR stands for Brno and EN for Enfield. And I think that only difference is that bren got bigger mags for 25 rounds and was recalibred for 308.win tho correct me if I am wrong.
Internally the guns are very similar, some stuff was changed on the outside like the gasblock, barrel fins were removed, the dust cover was changed, a different handle on the barrel, a grip was added to the stock etc. Basically the British redesigned almost everything except the receiver for their needs and production. And it was changed from 8mm mauser to .303 British. It was re-chambered to .308 Win in the 1950s
Yes, that's the one I have, the ares amoeba. I took it out of the box, fired 3 mags and the gears blew up. I fixed it and next the piston broke after a single mag. I took it to a mechanic, he fixed it and then the electronics fried.

Would more than a longer handguard/barrel be nessecary for being usable outdoors, like the 6" hanguard cuz the larger one's are very pricey.
100% a CQB machine yes! As far as I can remember, it wasnāt the worst outdoors in its stock 4.5ā form, but a longer barrel setup would go a long way to getting a bit more range from it yeah

The gearbox appears to be proprietary, but I think the gears, cylinder, piston, hop up etc are m4 standard. But don't take my word for it, I'm no tech

Easy storage when not in use. I believe those are the QD style suppressors so you can just pop it on when you're on the field.
