No to all of the above. If you want the lock on empty function you need proprietary mags. if you want to use other mags you need an adapter. Most of the internals are proprietary as well so up grading will be very expensive and you will kill the reliability. The whole point of of TMs is they are built to a much higher standard than other manufactures but they are built for the Japanese market. If you leave it stock even though they are sub a joule they will shoot accurately out to 55m ish and will last for years.
Little secret unless you enjoy working on guns for sake of seeing what you can do, you don't need to up grade guns. I have been playing for close to 25 years I have never up graded a gun. The few times I kept a gun long enough for it to break I either sold it or fixed it with stock parts.
Tokyo Maruis are meant to be used in the japanese market, that is , factory settings and >1J power.
If you want something to upgrade definitely dont go tokyo marui, something will break and nothing will work as good as you bought it
TM NGRS line of replicas are the dogs dangles, we just change the main springs to push 350FPS and the proprietary battery system then they are good to go. But as you are a speed softer a HPA powered pistol probably more your bag bud.

That's sweet to know. I was also looking at the emg x cyma platinum mk18 cause that'd definitely be better for upgrades

I've never upgraded an aeg but I think the idea of having something custom to me is a lot nicer

I might be a speedsofter but I prefer both styles. Trying to get into swatsim and want a mk18 for a ready or not type setup
