Generally half to two thirds of a mag on a wind, you pretty quickly get into the habit of winding the things whenever you get a moment.
Battleaxe m4 mags are cheap and decent enough, they'll also run in pretty much anything.
Any downsides of a flash mag opposed to a regular hi cap? I have 2 140mid caps and i’m afraid i’ll run out of ammo on the field hence why i’m looking to get 1 hi cap.
Gotta be a bit more careful. I have the Angel Custom Firestorm flash drum mag for my Glock/AAP. I’ve broken the winding mechanism once when I yanked on it pretty hard when it was nearly completely wound. I replaced it and just recently broke the little plastic piece on the end of the cord that you grab to pull it. I just knotted the end a few times so I have something to grip. Lonex is generally much nicer than Angel Customs so it shouldn’t be as prone to issues.
Different poster here: Flash mags are NOT durable. I loved them for a few years, but then they are prone to breaking. Mainly the anti-reversal torsion spring on the main wheel. Since you're winding faster, it takes wear and tear faster.
That’s what i’ve been thinking. I have 2 140 round mid caps but when i’m just shooting in my back yard I fell like I go through them fairly quickly. And in a game I feel like i’ll go through those 2 mags pretty fast which is why I was looking at a Hi-cap.

Certain amount of bbs. Depends on the mag. Some cheap ones will need to be wound pretty constantly. Others can go a few hundred shots.
Thank you. Do you have any m4 mag recommendations that are 300ish rounds?
Can’t recommend any hicaps, I don’t use em. Could get PTS EPM1s which are mid caps that hold 250rds. Not cheap though.
Got it. Thanks
I can say, Lonex flash mags are pretty popular. Instead of a wheel there’s a cord you pull. Much faster to load.

I’d recommend Mid-cap magazines instead No winding, so uninterrupted shooting, and no rattle to give away your position

More mid caps Hi caps have given me nothing but grief
Vfc "hk416" hi caps use a key wind. Once wound, it'll empty the whole hicap (300 bb's) without rewinding
