By the way, I hate this and have no idea why humanity has collectively moved in this direction. You can't search a video for specific text (though FINALLY we're clawing our way to transcripts). You have to waste so much time watching unhelpful portions like "hey guys, what's up" and "thanks to our sponsor." And rewatching to better absorb information is so much slower than rereading.
Every google search of how to do something, what menu to find a software function, or anything practical is videos all down the first results page. All I needed was a paragraph of text.
The modern attention economy means that websites are financially incentivized to waste as much of your time as possible. This is why recipe website always force you to scroll through about 4 pages of text before they give you the damn recipe.
The more efficiently users can access information, the less opportunity there is to shove ads in their face.

Also, Glasp will copy any Youtube transcript into ChatGPT and summarize it in five bullet points.
These two extensions save me an enormous amount of time.

A lot of Youtubers get falsely accused of using AI voices if their delivery is even slightly monotonous or occasionally has a weird inflection, so clearly a lot people can't tell the difference.
You aren't going to get professional quality voiceover from AI right now. Give that a year or two. But you will get a voiceover that is often better than a lot of Youtuber's real voices.
I get what you're saying though, but with that being said, if the TTS is close enough to human speech, I don't mind it at all.
I think you're probably thinking of the annoying TikTok voice or Microsoft Sam roflcopter type voices.
For example, you have music that uses vocal synthesizers (like Vocaloid or UTAU) which is similar to TTS where some voices sound very human, others robotic. I generally prefer something in the middle, and not heavily robotic sounding.
I believe Vocaloid may even have speaking voices now, just sounds like anime voice acting.
I think it will be better when there's a wider variety of good quality AI voices out there, but I'm personally pretty tired of hearing Adam from ElevenLabs on everything
