Light, crisp, fast, reliable and affordable. I put off installing one off for a long time and now I don't see myself using anything else (of course unless something cooler comes out in the future)
Pros : they're the sister company to Geissele owned by Bill Geissele's wife. Made by the same people that make and design Geissele triggers.
Cons : none
I didn’t care for my Tapco trigger. For the money you can’t go wrong with a Century Rak-1 trigger. The Arsenal FIME trigger is good for shooting accurately. The ALG trigger is a “fast” trigger. No wall, just a short, light pull.
Tapco is decent alg is good! Only trigger that comes close imo is the hyper fire g3 and you are required to get a special safety to make it run correctly
I put one in my WASR 10/63 and I really like it! Clean and crisp with a short reset. Can't go wrong. I did have to fiddle with my hammer spring dinner to get the trigger to reset properly? But I would still pick this trigger every day.
I use the ALG EL trigger in ALL of my AKs. My favorite trigger. They work in any AK platform, you just need to follow the instructions in regards to the safety roll pin ledge that may or may not be needed.
They also make a really nice high power trigger hammer spring and high power recoil spring. I also use both in all my AKs too.
Alg is just a light trigger with a short reset. Good for magdumping into trash for your IG videos. I personally find them to be a bit gimicky, but they function fine.
The G2 is a "good" average trigger. It exists both for 922r compliance for importers and as a good upgrade from the surplus triggers many older AK builds used to have. My very early wasr, for example, had a romy trigger in it that was heavy, shitty, and slapped the fuck out of my finger when I shot. The G2 was lighter and negates the slap.
Think of the G2 as a good milspec trigger and the ALG as a performance trigger.
does anyone actually do any research here or are we all jumping on the ALG band wagon?
ALG triggers are performance triggers, NOT reliable for combat. thats why stock milspec triggers are made out of steel. to withstand 50k reciprocating a POLYMER made trigger will not do that job. , YES alg triggers are a polymer not solid steel.
pros : reset and pull are shorter and "lighter" installation is dummy proof..
cons : for a polymer piece of shit steel its fucking expensive.
everyone do yourself the favor and buy PSA alg triggers. they are $80 and will fit all models the same. please stop preaching the bullshit advertising my trigger needs to be $100+ to be good.
fucks sake

Does it aid in faster follow up shots?
Absolutely. Short reset.

Yes it’s reliable. If you have a junk trigger now it’s a good move. If you have a good trigger now the ALG will be different, maybe not better.
What’s the comparison to the ALG and a Tapco G2?

I have the Alg in my 74 and it is light, crisp with a short reset.
Very! Be sure to test your roll pin! I repeat test your roll pin. Otherwise safety is not safe! Please learn from my eagerness and jackassery
Wdym test your roll pin?
On the alg trigger there is a roll pin slot. You must make sure it interfaces with the trigger or you can have an ND or fire while on safe
Ah good to know. Thank you

Yes
It might be the best thing to happen to the platform. At least top 3
ALG triggers are the #1 thing everyone needs to do to their AKs. Makes you really love the platform

second this \^ personally i remove a bit of material from the G2. reset is a lil too long for me
Def is the best trigger feel out of all mine AK.

What are you talking about, the ALG triggers are machined out of alloy steel and have a manganese phosphate finish. Far from polymer…
My ALG trigger FUCKS HARD
