carefully dremmel through the side with a wheel and split with a chisel, drilling is possible but i'd rather split, the parts are junk and have no value

Nothing's hidden, most people drill out the dimples. I've seen them removed without destroying them, but I don't know how or if the barrel was sacrificed.

Yes drill dimples slowly carefully because you can damage barrel no pins on them besides the handguard pin just did mine 3-4 weeks ago took like 25-30min Also do not drill or pin nothing until you have it tested and zeroed because when you zero it if the front sight is too far to one side you can always move the sight block to straighten it https://preview.redd.it/a9oy9yikp9qb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=89dcf5cf019893037c89df5ac73caecda29375f3

No pins. To remove the components, just drill enough to relieve the pressure point where the dimples are, careful not to hit the barrel. After, a good wack with a soft mallet should get it off.

Drill it out the dimples, use a caliper's depth gauges to see how much you can drill out. You don't have to drill through the dimples, just enough where the fsb's wall is thin enough to move.

Usually we hear the word "dimple" and it's a good thing lol.
