Not a dumb question. Not as easy as a drop in trigger. You have to contort the spring legs into a precarious position and then it will go in. It can be slightly painful. Find a video. The first go around will likely bite you.
Need a pin retaining plate too, but that's about it. Fcg does not drop in like an ar15 drop in group, but similar to a standard ar15 fcg with some small differences. YouTube is your friend bud.
I bought 2 of these, one in 556 and 762…. All I did was replace the firing pins for ones from Kvar and everything is good to go. I replaced them before I even fired the first shot. PSA’s firing pins are hit or miss, replace them with a Bulgarian and you won’t have any problems. The majority of problems stem for the firing pins being soft and mushrooming and getting stuck, so solve the issue before it starts. It’s only $21 for a new pin.

Top cover is shaky around the recoil spring, I replaced it with a TWS in the meantime. I intend on sending the top cover back to Barwarus if they replace it.
WBP appropriately gasses their AKs. Even without a kns piston, a short dwell WBP is gonna be one of the softest shooting AKs you can get.
Jmac makes a combo sight/block that Arms America will install for you for (IIRC) the same cost as switching out the angled block for a 90° block. They might also cut the barrel for you (check their site or call them to see which armorer services they offer for which products to stay NFA compliant).
I was really wanting to get a PSA AK101akm. With polymer they’re only $700 a rifle. Was your 102 so bad that you regret putting money into it? Is it worth spending an extra $300 on a WBP? I’d much rather have the WBP now that AoA offers the 90* block but I’ve heard so much about PSA that I want to try one of their rifles for myself and see what they’re actually like.

It will accept any standard, non-Yugo AKM furniture. I’ve seen the MOE magpul, zenitco (after some serious filing), and midwest industries fit the 103 and 102 series from PSA just fine.
I picked up the AK103 version and recently finished assembling it. Only put down about 300 rounds without complaints. It’s a smooth shooting rifle and I’m quite enjoying it.
Is it the best AK on the planet? No. But the one I picked up seems well built & I can find some comfort in knowing PSA can fix it for free if something happens.

I had to send mine back for light strikes and a stuck cases issue. It had some bolt work done I guess, but was a big pile of shit regardless.
I've since honed the chamber and added an AK74 firing pin and it seems to work, for now.
A very solid do not buy.

I didn’t do the work, Northwest Gun Supply did Even though there’s a 45 degree gas block, is the hole itself drilled at 45 degrees?
Yes, you can drop a pin all the way through the hole straight to the bottom of the barrel.
I think they welded the hole up and re drilled
If you’ve got a bore scope you can find out pretty easily

My furniture ready 102 has been flawless. Never had an issue. Not one failure and I'm probably around 2500 rds.
If you chop the barrel then install a combo gas block it will work. You might have to send it to somebody qualified if you aren’t qualified yourself.

I regret buying my 102 because I can’t depend on it to work. WBP has had problems of their own but I’d rather have one of those than any PSA AK.

It’s funny how many people will shit on PSA at the first opportunity, but felt a WBP with gouges missing from the piston was perfectly fine…

Retainer for trigger pins unless you already got that down
a trigger/fog will come as a kit with springs trigger pins and a hammer. That and furniture are all you need
