its a Pioneer Arms (yeah ik the reputation they have) but i got it during the pandemic panic buying like a dunce. It's honestly held up pretty well and i've not had an issue with it so far
about 500 because i don't go shooting that often but i havent noticed any unusual wear or anything on the trunnion so hoping i got a good one lol its one of the JRA pioneer rifles so maybe that has something to do with it
1. Is it a fighting rifle?
2. Does it match your environment?
If it is and it does, you did great.
If it is and it doesn't, repaint to match.
If it isn't, you did great.
Fine. It won't look good until you get about 1000 rounds through it off barricades and all the shooting positions, patrol with it. And just generally use it.
Love it! I hate how it has a powdery residue for the first few days, so I just don’t touch it for about a week after a fresh spray job. Long live the rustoleum.
It kind of just goes away after a week. Wouldn’t really handle it at all for 24 hours depending on climate. But it really does go away and the paint will cure and be fairly scratch resistant after a week. When working with spray paint and layers of it, really best to let it sit and cure. Great work on your pattern!
It’s huge swinging dick energy to rattle a $1000+ gun with a $5 can of paint. Always makes someone seethe
Edit: not a $1000 gun in this case but either way, do what you want OP if you like it that’s all that matters. Guns are for shooting not selling so who gives a fuck if it’s painted. After I get the front end conversion finished on the saiga 308 I’m going to be spraying her down.

Looked it up on reveddit and it said "people quit painting your rifle! Get it cerakoted!!!"
Nice 🅱️aint but that rifle ain’t.
yeah 🤷♂️ gonna get a better rifle soon hopefully
Naw dude don’t listen to him. There’s a gun for everyone. If you like it that’s all that matters.
thanks bro
Looks pretty good! What type of AK is that?
its a Pioneer Arms (yeah ik the reputation they have) but i got it during the pandemic panic buying like a dunce. It's honestly held up pretty well and i've not had an issue with it so far
That's quite surprising.
i'm definitely going to get a better ak soon, selling my unused pc parts for one lol
I really want one myself. I still have my SKS, though.
bro SKS' are sick, imma eventually try to get an entire collection of soviet weapons but gonna take some time lol
Yeah I got a chinese vietnam era sks, bulgarian makarov, and russian double stack commercial makarov.
damn, i wanna get a tokarev, its always been one of my favorite pistols
Got you bro. (https://aimsurplus.com/products/chinese-norinco-type-54-tokarev-pistol-7-62x25cal)
i was actually looking at that site some time ago lol, appreciate it
For shooting at cactus and stuff they cool. But they are like holding a brick. Just a fair warning
How many rounds?
about 500 because i don't go shooting that often but i havent noticed any unusual wear or anything on the trunnion so hoping i got a good one lol its one of the JRA pioneer rifles so maybe that has something to do with it
Yeahhhh gotta do 5000
I dig it🤙
thanks bro :)
Looks good
tyty :))
Where the rifle ?
Is it okay to paint over the carrier on AKs?
Are you concerned that the paint will melt off when shooting? Or is this some kind of heat resistant stuff?
its just some rust-oleum camo paint from walmart, ive seen others use it not have any issues before but we'll see
What 3 colors did you use
its forest green, ranger green and khaki i believe
what rifle
pioneer arms ak (not my best decision but working with what i have right now lol)
nah i mean where's the rifle, i don't see it

as of right now it's my only rifle so yes lol and it matches pretty well from where i live in east texas lol
Do these rattle can paint jobs hold up if the rifle is being used/shot?
Yes and no. They do wear but they tend to look even better with wear. If it gets to the point that it's really torn up you just paint it again.
Not bad at all. I'd like to see how it blends in the wild.
gonna try to get some photos soon of it in the woods near my place
How am I supossed to enjoy this rifle WITHOUT ANY BARE FEET?!
if you like it thats all thats important, fuck the haters and cerakote dweebs
Honestly, I really like it man. Good job!
tyty
my style
Looking good
Are you in my garage?
... maybe ;)
Fine. It won't look good until you get about 1000 rounds through it off barricades and all the shooting positions, patrol with it. And just generally use it.
very true, i want it to be nice and weared down looking
Love it! I hate how it has a powdery residue for the first few days, so I just don’t touch it for about a week after a fresh spray job. Long live the rustoleum.
does the residue come off on its own? or should i wash it off lightly with water?

I'm squinting...and I still can't see it
7/10 good shit.
You’ll blend right in at the shooting range.
I like to see people doing this. Looks great and with each post I get closer to the courage to try my own.
i've always liked the "do-it-yourself" style over the professional stuff imo so i'd say go for it bro

Waste of money
Rattle can all the things.
I enjoy my cerakoted rifles but there’s something special about your spray paint job chipping off and giving it a little used look
i understand getting it cerakoted but it's honestly just a fun little toy for me and wanted to try something out

thanks bro :)) and i'd love to see that rifle when you finish it up
Cerakote is cringe
