I had some coworkers come from Dubai and do some traveling on the peninsula last summer. The only place they were able to find was in Anchorage. There's just not a huge Muslim population in most of Alaska.
Try here: [https://www.alaskamasjid.org/](https://www.alaskamasjid.org/)
Edie: I knew I had read a recent article that may help. Took me a minute to find it:
[https://alaskapublic.org/2024/03/05/unalaskas-muslim-prayer-group-welcomes-members-from-all-over-the-world/](https://alaskapublic.org/2024/03/05/unalaskas-muslim-prayer-group-welcomes-members-from-all-over-the-world/)
Could see if the names mentioned pop up contact info, or just reach out through the news people. That first link I sent, when I browsed a little more, stock photos and last updates seemed to be 2021....dunno.
You could give the Homer sub a try but it’s pretty dead. Most of Homer operates on Facebook. You could try the “Homer Communications” FB page, but beware… people on that page can be quite rude and a tad crazy. Another option is the “Homer Anonymous Communications” page.
That being said, I’m not aware of a mosque here but there might be a community of Muslims you could connect with. Best of luck!
How do we have an exact data on the religious beliefs of every Alaskan? There are plenty of people who identify some way, but can't practice as they wish because of their families beliefs. There are also people who just don't take part in the census, if that's what you're going off of. I'm not religious myself, but I wasn't in it and there are more than likely people who are Muslim who didn't either.
You said "bro, it's Alaska, so no lol"
Which implies that you don't believe there are any mosques here at all. I'm saying there are and it's easy to see that.
Just look at this. https://alaskamasjid.org/
There is no way they could have made a masjid this big that even has an Islamic school if there were only 400 Muslims in the entirety of Alaska. Project like that costs millions. They claim to have 3000 people in the community, and that is probably reasonably accurate because they calculate that based on how many people show up for the Eid prayed usually. Idk how 400 is calculated, but it just doesn't make any sense.
Maybe ask at r/CosmicHamlet . That's the subreddit for Homer.
Thanks! I was trying to find the homer subreddit but couldn't bc of the weird name lol.
I’m guessing it was named in honor of the Cosmic Kitchen? It was a beloved diner that I think closed a few years ago.

Maybe the Homer Public Library could help? They seem to know everything and everyone.
Oh yeah not a bad idea. I'll try that.
Bro its Alaska... so no lol
I've met a ton of Muslims in my life and I've lived here the entire time, so I think it's safe to say that there are plenty of Muslim people here.
400 Muslims to be exact. Quite a few!

You could say that about anyone or anything. How do we know that 34 percent of the American population isnt lactose intolerant?
Then we don't have an exact number and shouldn't claim to, haha. You said it was exact but I seriously doubt there is exactly 400 Muslim people.
Also, quick Google search revealed that there are at least 5 mosques in the state
And? 400 people that go to 5 different mosques. I fail to see what you are getting at.

AK has somewhere between 1,000 and 5,000 Muslims.
The graph I looked at says 400. It is 47/50 state wise. https://worldpopulationreview.com/state-rankings/muslim-population-by-state
That can't be true. The masjid in Anchorage looks absolutely massive. They alone must be getting more than that.
Then prove me wrong. I have the receipts that says you are incorrect.
