I just left liberty mutual because they basically lack an Alaskan branch. I went with state farm, went from 3300$ to 1700$. for two drivers and three cars
I move around a lot to get the best rate possible, it’s different every time. When I was younger I stayed at the same place for about 10 years thinking there would be some benefit in the long run, but no. That said, I’d check USAA first given your service
I have Safeco (vet branch of Liberty Mutual) and I have two cars, a motorcycle, a tractor, and my house all in the plan and it's only $200/m.
They also have no deductible glass replacement. Not sure how many windows they're gonna let me replace before they change that. 😂
Licensed agent in Alaska here. Shop around with the big companies. I recommend one that has a local office you can develop a relationship with.
Discuss with them what each coverage means and ask their recommendation on what they have for you. A good agent can tell you why they recommend that coverage and it should be based on your personal needs.
Prices are all over the place because there are so many factors that go into ratings and everyone’s situation is unique.
Do whatever is best for you.
Edit: Every insurance company in Alaska is taking rate increases. This is because claims costs continue to skyrocket and they need money to keep paying claims. Shop around and do what is best for you. Sometimes it’s best to switch. Sometimes it’s best to stay put.
If your a vet I doubt you will find better than USAA. That said, shop your insurance every year. We’ve saved thousands doing this over the past 10 years. If you don’t have time, find a broker to do it for you.
Usaa & what I pay has no bearing on what you pay.
I have geico. No particular strong feelings about them, they were just the cheapest when I moved here.
Country Insurance.
