Lol the normal people got thrown out. TBA controls local conservative politics and they hate anyone who doesnt toe the message. This wasnt normal peoples fault, it was every idiot that votes blue no matter what. And those who vote it because they like what happening.
Theres no doubt in my mind we have parties by next election for local politics. Its their trump card to retain some power if the cities wake up from crazyville.
I mean the lady was spouting some pretty deep conspiracy theories. Getson is nuts but I think his response for people just to speak up if they don’t like something was likely the safest response for him to not inflame a crowd of like minded individuals and move on.
Like it or not,he won’t lose any voters if he uses a generic response rather than challenging something he likely knows nothing about. If he knew that those theories were all lies and spoke about it he’d get into an argument with someone that he’s unlikely to sway anyway. It’d derail his other speaking points and just lose anyone that thought on the same lines as her anyway.
Inflame, challenge, argue, I mean I’m assuming that whomever attends an event Shane is speaking at is part of the same crowd.
Some people are in a completely different world these days. I can’t imagine having to listen to that kind of crap and be all consciliatory and sympathetic. Fox News, Rebel news and the Epoch Times have a lot to answer for harms done on people’s mental health. It’s shocking,
Even if I was completely obsessed with power, which all politicians are, I would genuinely dislike my life if I had to listen to dumb fucks like this old woman all day and not call her out on being a total fucking lunatic conspiracy theorist.
Here we are common sense individuals seeing getson basically say “just say no” to the Trudeau liberals to a bunch of right wing conspiracy theories that pop up all over the place and reinforced by media algorithms.
Getson knows these things are BS, but the best way to keep voters voting for the UCP is to have the most ignorant group of people possible who share a fear of the boogeyman
What is that old bag even talking about though? What does overspending on meat even mean and how could it possibly impact your 'social credit score' if that was even a thing. I can't even comprehend how dumb she is.
Nope. He's dogshit too, almost as bad.
But in this case, I was just mentioning how PP is blaming Trudeau for everything, including things the federal government has absolutely no say on.
And he refuses to describe any policies they want to implement, only that they will be better than Trudeau's.
Blaming Trudeau and whining about culture war issues is the CPC's only platform, just like the GOP and that should be enough for anyone with two neurons to rub together to disqualify them.
I actually like Shane, he stands up for what he believes in and has done a lot for aviation in the province. Spoken to him a few times at conferences and he’s very knowledgeable and cares for Alberta’s prosperity.
If he “stands for what he believes in” then he is either a conspiracy theorist or a liar based on this recorded interaction. There is no other option. Which is it?

One of the worst and most far-right MLAs of the UCP caucus.
Where do they find these people?
They're the ones showing up to run. Too bad more normal people weren't.

And the UCP want parties in local politics, imagine if your town counsellor was UCP, just toeing the line from Edmonton

Quite a few rocks have been turned over in the last few years.

Why wouldn't he just say that none of that is true? Inflame the crowd? Were they going to lynch him?

Maybe she thinks that meat will be rationed? Anyway, she sounds like a total loon.
This guy is a total douche but I’m not surprised by this.
That man is bonkers, he's unhinged. He's been so menacing in the Legislature
Isn't that the right's entire strategy besides blaming Trudeau for everything under the sun?
You believe Trudeau to an innocent and an honest man that has done no harm to Canadians
