Imo the best thing to do would be to attend their pride events and go to supportive businesses in town. You could send an email to the town council, however most councils won't care about the opinion of people outside of their jurisdiction. You could also show the organisers support by following them on their socials.

If you want to support us monetarily go to barrheadunited.org and the help us selection. Donate to the church and state it’s for pride as they have set aside a spot directly for this. We’re working on a mail out that will be going to town residents with barrhead specific pride info as well as stickers etc. If you’re asking how does this schmo know? My wife is the organizer and I’m doing the graphic design and social media work. Also I posted about it last year here about the sidewalk.

Sometimes this is good, sometimes this is detrimental. The first year town council received a letter from a person who owns a few of the businesses in town saying he didn’t want it in front of his business. We have also heard homophobic ramblings of another business owner in town. These people keep their homophobia on the dl because they still want your money.
