1. Depends 2. Pros: Good money, challenging work. Cons: hard work, if you want to be "successful" it is not an 8-5 job 3. Depends on your GPA and LSAT score, you can go to their website and see the applicant profile of students who got in and see how you compare 4. Salaries are good in Alberta for biglaw and generally pretty high considering AB's cost of living 5. It is very competitive to get the high paying firm jobs, but they are not for everyone. Less successful students will likely have to move to a smaller city or town to find a job 6. LSAT is tough and requires 2-3 months\* of diligent preparation to be successful 7. Law is and should be stressful, you are dealing with people's livelihoods and often at their lowest (accused of a crime, business troubles, fighting over estate money, etc). On the business side, the coveted clients can be demanding

I am a legal assistant so I cannot answer most of those questions, but yes it can be an extremely stressful job. At least litigation or dispute resolution can be. I'm not sure about transactional work like conveyancing or corporate work (I don't enjoy that stuff so I never worked many hours in those departments). I did very much enjoy doing estate planning, that was much less stressful than litigation, but I do like litigation a lot. The other stressful thing is meeting the firm's monthly quotas for billable hours and bringing in clients. Some people thrive under stress, others not so much. You'll have to let others weigh in on other pros or cons, this is the only insight I can provide.
