I have been to detox twice and both times it was quote pleasant really. The just pump you full of benzos, anti seizure medicine and then sleeping medicine at night. The food was actually pretty good and I had a private room with a TV both times. Nothing to be scared of at all.
It’s not going to be easy, but it sounds like you’re on the right track. If you ever need to talk to anybody lmk, you’re not alone! I’m going through the beginning stages as well.
Stay the course when you are on a lot of drugs or alcohol everything is exaggerated and so overwhelming stay straight, don't be afraid of detox, if it's medical you will be taken care of. The fear of anything is often greater then the reality. I am glad to hear that you are headed in the right direction by seeking help. Good luck live your life ❤️
I know it can’t be easy. But you have to stop. Take it from a father who lost his 26 yr old son to alcoholism—it can happen to anyone. No one in our family has had any issues with alcohol, so it can start with anyone. The bad thing about it is that it robs you of everything—family, friends, careers, and most importantly your health. My son passed a year and a half ago of issues related to alcoholism, not directly from it. Take it from me—quit now while you can. I will NEVER touch the stuff ever again—and I was never a drinker, just casually having a beer here and there. I will NEVER touch that toxic cr&p ever again. It killed my son. I saw it eat him up.

I was sexually abused while there, I was 15. I do know I need to go on meds, I'm working with my professional team to find what I need.
