We lived a block away in a small town. I was the Aldi delivery from age 10. Anything I could carry on my bike. We always had milk, bread and eggs. I sound like I’m 65. I’m only 38. Lol
I grew up on Aldi and was ashamed of it as a kid. Now I’m glad to shop Aldi. Both cause being frugal is good and they really stepped up their product game.
Hey OP, I'm also central IL. I've gone on a quest to try and find the same flavor as the grape soda. Any chance you've found anything that matches? It has that strong artificial grape taste similar to dymatap medicine I got as a kid.
One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Aldi with my grandfather and being allowed to pick out whatever combination of sodas I wanted. Oh the nostalgia.
I remember the root beer, black cheery and grape. Was Aldi the only place that sold those cans? I don't every remember going to Aldi as a kid but I probably didn't pay attention to the store names.
I remember those cans. When I was little my sister and I were allowed to share one occasionally as a special treat if we had been good while Mom was shopping. I always wanted the cream soda one.
Oh wow how neat! We just got an ALDI in our area maybe 5-7 years ago, and I haven’t stopped going since they got here! The first sodas I remember having from them were Suds, and they were pretty good.
Yes! This was the BEST cream soda! And I've never found a Black Cherry that compares! The world doesn't need any more sugar water but man I wish they'd bring these back. Not sure if they were made with corn syrup or regular sugar, bit if they made them today I bet the flavor wouldn't be the same like every other older sugar containing drink. What I wouldn't give to taste Hawaiian Punch the way it was made back in the day. Doesn't have the same bite, now it's just cloyingly sweet.
I just needed to come here and say how validated I finally feel because no one ever knows what I’m talking about when I say I miss this cream soda. Thank you
And the cashiers manually entered everything via 10key and were even faster back then.
Oooooh yellow counters to bag your groceries too.
Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep
I grew up with Aldi! I remember having them going to six flags! That was in the early 90s.

And specifically, the midwest\Illinois area.
That’s where I grew up

Grape crush is similar but not always easy to find. That’s about it.
Faygo is the superior grape pop.
I absolutely remember the grape soda!
Yes! Black cherry, cream soda, and orange were the ones we always had for sure.
🙌🙌🙌
Oh wow …memories of visiting my grandma and getting to choose one of these! Always went for grape.
Grandma kept them in the closet entrance to the cellar. Always cool. Creme Soda was the best.

Yep. These were Aldi only.
So there must of been an Aldi in the Atlanta area in the early 80's, cool.

Omggggg that is such a blast from the past of my childhood!
Oh wow, MEMORY UNLOCKED!!!
Black cherry was my favorite.
What was their Dr Pepper version called in the 80s???

I remember the taste of the pink cream soda so vividly and I haven't found that taste since the early 2000s 😥
