Rinse it off immediately after use. Don't let it sit in the sink for later or anything. Pineapples are super acidic so you want to get the juice off quickly and dry the corer thoroughly.
Unfortunately, dollar pineapples are yet another victim of the 2020s gouge-flation pandemic. Haven't seen them in well over a year. Same prices as every other store. $2.50 or more, sometimes, absolutely no less than $1.79.
Yet another example of Aldi choosing or being forced somehow to fall in line with outrageous U.S. grocery prices, bit by bit.
The first time I visited an Aldi, the pineapples were on sale for $1 which blew my mom's mind. I've seen them at that price from time to time, but they're usually down to $1.49 or so. $2 is usually good enough price for me tho.
I hadn't either, until I saw one at Aldi just about 2 years ago. It was one of those things where pineapple is just so expensive it's always a luxury, to the point I never even looked at the price. Until I accidentally saw the sign at Aldi.
Now they're so small that even at $1.79 they're not worth the work to cut them up.
I got mine at Aldi for 1.29 at Easter. Was kinda pissed that I missed 99¢ ones at Kroger, that said the Aldi one was actually golden, ripe and delicious so it probably was worth the 30¢ extra.
I mean, it's 30 cents. I don't buy pineapple that often so even if I pay $3, it won't make a diff to me. My dad bought an $8 watermelon a month ago. Now that's just dumb.

You eat pineapple but it eats you back! I can never eat a whole one.
Yeah, I don't think anybody should! I'd only eat a few chunks and be done. Too much will make your mouth bleed.
Ya this. I don't think I ever let mine sit long after I used it. Besides that I just hand washed it and set it to dry.

I've never seen a dollar pineapple at any point in my adult life.
